Oh nice! I like the size of this room! I worked for NCL and had to room with 2 other people and some people had 3 other people but our rooms where just about the same size with extra bed!
I have so much respect for you guys! Working on a cruise ship seems like it would be a really tough job and life. They really should pay you all more (I saw in another comment that you only make $6 an hour 😮) The youth counselors were wonderful on our cruise! Our 3 year old daughter is very shy, and she cried when I dropped her off at Oceaneers. When I came to pick her up, she was laughing, and having a great time, and didn't want to leave! They really helped her feel comfortable!
It is tough and I definitely have a much better understanding and appreciation for the workers after seeing it first hand! I am so glad your daughter ended up enjoying herself, the kids club is magical!! Thank you so much for watching! :)
@Gregory Smith that is not true.. most of people that come here is because of money, and to support family... because lot of people coming from countrys that doesn't have good opportunities
@Gregory Smith that is true, but lot of people must work on the ship because that is only way to support family, not to struggle every mounth to pay bills, and also all crew members who have their family at home, they pay their electric bils, housin ,food and everything, that means even if you work on the ship you still paying bils but for your family at home...and to work as a Uber driver in this undeveloped countries and to work on ship like utility,is big difference in salary
@Gregory Smith i met doctor from Venezuela and she quit the ship, expecaly now work 14plus hours and pay the same...now she works in Germany with husband and warns much more
@Gregory Smith transportation to the ship is free for some positions not all. And now everyone getting basic salary, and most departments working 12,14 hours for more than double less money, like before COVID...lot of people that you mentioned working in utility for 800 dollar, that is much less than 13 dollar per hour 🤣
I always express to people respect your helpers. Remeber they are not slaves sp don't be an ass and leave nasty stuff on the floor. As a guest I always try to make the room easier for the room service people to clean.
Are you allowed to bring small pets with you considering you’re away for a long time? (I have a parrot who can’t be neglected). Are you strictly required to share a cabin? Do staff get free meals and WiFi? TIA!
She said in the video that you have to pay for wifi and I really don’t think pets are allowed. Did you see that cabin? Where would you even put them? That would be a terrible life for any pet.
RE: Fruit. Passengers (and I'll presume crew too) not allowed to bring fruit onboard from random vendors in port because it could contain insects. Just discovered your video here in 2021; hope you are well and back to the seas soon.
it would be more sensible to have 50-60 common staff bathrooms and showers and make more space for the crew cabin. This looks like claustrofck in there.
2:41 is me all the time I’m from Bermuda so since we are a british territory we have a bit of an accent lol so I totally get it like it’s fish and chips right and I’m like yes or the fish dinner and it’s loo not bathroom Right like loo bathroom toilet lol
So tiny.... I'm the container ship my room is much bigger than that and I don't have to share with anyone and I have way more storage space than I could ever imagine but if you had a good roommate that would make it okay because if not I can imagine that would be miserable
Miranda Rosanne perfect! I did my initial interview for being a youth councillor, I’m just waiting for. My blue jeans interview, do you know if there is much room for upward movement in that position, and what were the privileges as far as going to guest areas?
I think its because illness is so easily spread on the ship. So if the fruit rots in your room and somehow you get sick, it could spread throughout the entire boat.
The rule is technically one whole piece of fruit per person out of the crew mess , so a whole apple or banana ( mostly cause there isn't much other choice ^^ )
I assume it’s like how it is on planes, because you are going from different islands/countries bringing fruit and veggies around that could have diseases have the potential to cause illness to spread throughout that areas agriculture.
Personally I think you should. They give them to you but it is much more comforting and cozy to have your own. Plus your own will feel cleaner in my opinion. :)
i suppose you get free food and accommodation, so the amount of money that you get would probably be what you would receive in a normal job after bills 😊
dermaine chambers i mean with free food, accommodation, travelling the world on a ship, it seems pretty good to me. yeah you have to work (and it may only be $6 an hour) but assuming you work 5 days a week, that’s about $5800 for 6 months work. a normal job averages about $10-$15 an hour. a 40 hour week for 6 months would be $10,400-$15,600. after bills and food, that’s about $5k-7k max across 6 months . travelling the world and getting roughly the same as a normal worked 🤷♀️ sounds too good to be true
“i’m british... not an alien!”
Ive been on dream, loved it, from now on i will appreciate the staff much more, those are tight quarters, thanks for doing what you do on board. :)
Ohhh remember to throw the apple before cabin inspection on Thursday lol

Hi Miranda! The fairy lights are such a good idea!
TessLingle Thank you!!!
TessLingle Tess how are you? I miss you!
Miranda Rosanne good! What about you?
Cruise ship crews are awesome. You guys work hard.Thank you👏👏👏
Hey baby! Greetings from the land, in feb. i start in Royal Caribbean, see you on the road! Great video!
That is really nice compared to the way smaller NCL crew cabins
Carpet looks a lot like Paterson Court DCP housing in Orlando
Nathan C Interesting!! I was in Chatham on my DCP but I don’t remember if it was the same.
Miranda Rosanne this was “way back” in 2012. It could have changed. Digging your vids✌🏼

Thank you for saying this!!
Dream come true.Bravo..guy
Aaaahhhhh that british accent she sound lovely. Question why aern’t you allowed to have fruits on board?
It’s a health concern. Something about rotten fruit..
Hello ladies , thank you guys for the tour of your cabin on a Disney cruise ship , good job !!! 👍😊
“I’m British - not an alien” iconic 😂😂😂
Hahaha

Very nice crew cabin. I didn't get the cabin like that in a place I worked

that cabin looks so small and uncomfortable!
This is actually one of the nicer crew cabins. Some cruise lines and ships have even smaller cabins and can even have 3 or more people in one room
@@Mika-85 do they have any with windows
?
Do they supply all the bedding and towels? Or do you have to pack everything
Question! Are you able to buy something on line and somehow have it delivered or can people from home somehow send you stuff?
There is a mailing address, however I think it takes longer than usual to get to you
Hey miranda can you tell same staff about working on the ship? Thanks
Can you guys bring led lights? Cuz those lights suck
nice cabin.
Yeah they weren’t too bad! Thanks for watching!
How many crew sharing in room accomodation
Thank you for posting. Is there a store onboard for you to purchase toiletries and snacks?
Thanks for watching! Yes there is a crew store that sells snacks, drinks, some toiletries and crew merchandise
I wanted to apply. Its my dream. But a roommate? Hell noooooooooooo thanks! I’ll pass 👍 very nice video thou! 😊

Hi im a new crew of disney can i ask how much cost the wifi for crew?
What do you do on the ship?
Yeah disney cruise line!
This is way more roomier than living on a train!
So..... if you want to work on board for 2 years, can you do it?
Not 2 years straight.. you will do a contract up to maybe 8 months, take a break, go Back for 8 more months
No tv??
How does laundry work for the crew?
So tiny.... I'm the container ship my room is much bigger than that and I don't have to share with anyone and I have way more storage space than I could ever imagine but if you had a good roommate that would make it okay because if not I can imagine that would be miserable
Would it be awkward to have a Roomate who was in their late 30’s? Not all of us ‘old’ folks get to get married and have families. We are bored.
I don’t think so at all! For one, you hardly spend any time in your room and two everyone becomes friends no matter your age
@@MirandaRosanne I truly appreciate your encouraging response.
Can you tell me about dishwasher job
Were you allowed to wear shirts with big logos on them that weren’t Disney?
As long as they’re appropriate they’re fine! During training I wouldn’t wear them though.
What if you get roomed with a messy person? I don't like the fact that staff has to share a room
You can request a new room and I’m pretty sure you can request to be with a specific person!
Heey miranda , i just want ask the question
What basic salary waiter or assistant waiter om DCL ?
THANKS MIRANDA 🙏
Not sure but for me it was around $450 a week!
@@MirandaRosanne are you joint on DCL also now ?
Happy mothers day

What's your job on the ship?
I was Youth Activities.
If I work for a Disney cruise , can I get a single cabin for myself?
I don’t think so, only under certain circumstances or if you are higher rank
can you like date other cast members or like what are those policies
You can date other cast members! I think there may be some rules about dating if you’re an officer but I don’t recall any rules for regular crew.
What is the top 3 things you wished you could have that can’t get in the ship?!!
Do they provide the towels?
Yes!
Miranda Rosanne perfect! I did my initial interview for being a youth councillor, I’m just waiting for. My blue jeans interview, do you know if there is much room for upward movement in that position, and what were the privileges as far as going to guest areas?
Is it any different for boys room? And can you doing some stuff like boys-girls on that bed?
No, boys and girls cabins are exactly the same. You can do whatever you want in your cabin lol as long as you are safe.
Do you do your own laundry ?
Yes! There is a laundry room in the crew area
Which ship is this one?
Disney Dream!
Nice video but what ship is this?
Disney Dream!
Great video
Thanks so much!!
Your very much welcome 🙂
Soooo confused and curious about the fruit rule?!
I think its because illness is so easily spread on the ship. So if the fruit rots in your room and somehow you get sick, it could spread throughout the entire boat.
Fuhq Boi Thanks for the info! They never really explained it to us.

The Disney Dream!
Nice to
Do crew get life jackets?
Yes! Each crew member has one in their cabin.
What ship are you on? ❤️
This is the Disney Dream
Why can't you bring fruit on board?
Julia Light Bugs! Maggots!!
Ton more space than I had on any Navy ship I was on. You were lucky.

They should all at the least get free internet.
They changed it recently so crew members get free internet for texting/messaging which is very nice!
