    Was struggling with breathing for about 5 - 6 session, frustrated with the progress. Tried getting tips from Reddit, Google and tons of youtube videos. After watching this video on the 2nd tips, immediately went out to my condominiums swimming pool. And guess what, I have finally learnt to swim for about 40m non-stop. I still have so many things to perfect and learn in freestyle, but I'm proud for being able to swim confidently and thanks for the breakdown Siska Training Systems!

    This is great 👍 I like the drills, especially with the kickboard. Can't wait to work these breathing drills tomorrow as I just finished my pool workout for today. I need to slow down and keep it simple, while breathing.

      Yes exactly don't rush it...be patient with yourself and stay consistent..if you do that, great things can happen with you swimming! 💪

    Definitely going to try these 3 drills (especially the nr 2 breathing ). I do one length and I feel so terribly out of breath. Just shy to do it in front of people 🙈

      Good work, but first try to get super comfortable breathing to one side only , then once you master that..start trying to go both ways

    Do you recommend learning how to breathe bilaterally?

    • @siskatrainingsystems9542
      @siskatrainingsystems9542  25 дней назад +3

      Yes it's good to know how to do it, but breathing bilaterally is more of a drill..the purpose is to help even out your stroke or to increase lung capacity. It's not meant to be used when your are racing or trying to have a workout ...when training hard(other than hypoxic training) you should be breathing often and to the side you feel most comfortable with💪

    • @siskatrainingsystems9542
      @siskatrainingsystems9542  Месяц назад +1

      I'm glad to hear the video helped ...if your legs are sinking down your body position is not right, focus on stretching out as much as possible when you swim and that will help your legs rise to the surface...let me know how you progress

    My case is somewhat ridiculous. I was trained as a child in bilateral freestyle, at some point I went unilateral and struggled with breathing (couldn't do more than 4 lengths of 25m without gassing out completely) until I went back bilateral. Now, i'm like swimming Terminator, nothing can stop me. 🏊‍♂️🤿🕶

      Interesting, sounds like a rhythm issue would be interested in what your stroke looks like

      @@siskatrainingsystems9542i know, right, it was really difficult, especially because i had no problems with other srokes, i'm not inexperienced swimmer. I couldn't relax. I was thinking i wasn't talented for crawl, it frustrated me very much. Like, how can others swim the technique so easily, but i get tired quick.
      With bilateral breathing, i can now manipulate my spead really easy, especially in open water. And like both wings of my lungs get enough oxygen. Just like when I was a child. Every 3 or every 5 strokes on each side, sometimes i feel more or less tired, but stamina is there.
