Just realizing instead of naming the actor Owen Teague, I said JEFF TEAGUE for some reason. Useless NBA 2K knowledge from ten years ago is seeping through...
What's the best movie from this reboot timeline? I'm going with Dawn of the Planet of the Apes!
I love that you loved it as much as I did man. I was blown away by the character and development to this story that fits so seamlessly with the trilogy before it.
I felt such a feeling of relief leaving the theater after this one, they easily could have just made this a cash grab after the success of the previous trilogy...I'll never doubt Wes Ball again, can't wait to see where they take it next. Thanks for watching, Zach!
Hard to believe the effects got better. The last Apes film I saw was incredible.
You're gonna be convinced they somehow made live apes do cosplay, because the visual effects are truly insane in this one. Thanks for watching, Chill!
Yeah I was a big fan of this one as well. And like you said all of the new Apes feel fresh and unique from their predecessors which must've been the most important feat when creating this movie. Noah is a character that I'm definitely willing to follow for a new trilogy.
Being able to relate to the main character in these movies is what makes or breaks them, and they've done a really good job picking who is going to lead them in these films. Very excited to see where the journey goes from here. Thanks for tuning in, Kenny!
I chuckled at that opening joke lol
Haha at least someone did...Thanks for watching, Khaleel!
Jeff Teague sure acted his ass in this one. Better at basketball and acting then Andy Serkis lol. Great review dude. This movie surprised on how immersed it kept me. Best VFX ive seen in years
Haha I knew that comment was coming...Completely agree, the VFX are some of the best I think I've ever seen, and it only helped me get more invested in this world. Thanks for watching, dude!
Dude, Loved this film so much! I was very skeptical with Wes Ball directing since I wasn't familiar with him but he knocked it out of the park! Great review and LOVE the pun LOL- Kiren
I'm with you, I clearly shouldn't doubt Wes Ball again after what he did with this movie. This entry was so much better than I was expecting it to be. Thanks for tuning in, Kiren!
This movie certainly had a lot of shoes to fill, but they managed to stick the landing in nearly every aspect. Koba is still my favorite villian😅
Koba is a certified hater and one of the best villains of the 2010s no doubt, that dude is a baaaad man. Thanks for watching, TJ!
Im with you on Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, its prolly both of our favorites, great review! enjoying the content
Dawn is just too good. The conflict, the action sequences, and the villain are all top notch. Where do you think this new entry stacks up compared to the last trilogy? Ranks just under Dawn for me. Thanks for watching!
Kingdom of the Apes might not be the Caesar trilogy but it is great enough on its own to start a new trilogy. Solid review, Sully. Been enjoying revisiting my Apes reviews of the first eight movies before this and it was worth it.
For sure, this one can definitely stand on its own two feet even after the Caesar era. Cannot wait to see where they take the story next. Thanks for watching, Joshua!
@@SullyStreams you're welcome.
I saw that movie last week, it was so good. It’s probably my favorite of the four. Great review dude!
Wow, glad you loved it as much as you did. Definitely an awesome continuation of the story, can't wait to see where it goes from here. Thanks for watching, man!
Great Review, Sully! While I think I need a rewatch to fully embrace the scope and size of this film, I can confirm that it was a really solid return to this world. Loved Noa as the lead, though I think it’s a bit too long.
I can totally see why you would say it's too long, two and half hours is no quick walk in the park but I was completely invested the entire way through. Glad you still dug this one, can't wait to see where they go from here. Thanks for watching, dude!
Glad to hear u enjoyed this one. I was totally fine with this coming out but I agree did not think it would be good as it was. I also got to go with Dawn. Its just so good! Great review
I'm not gonna question Wes Ball anymore after this entry, because this one really won me over. Can't wait to see where they go next. Thanks for tuning in, Jacob!
I love the original 1968 film and some of the following films in the original series but I also very much so love the Caesar reboot trilogy and I'm excited to see how Noa and Mae's story will go from here. I don't want another war between human and apes but that doesn't mean I want no conflict between them. Also, I really want to see more ape clans as Proximus couldn't have captured them all.
I think they can definitely do more around whatever other ape clans are out there, could be very interesting to see how they live their lives compared to that of our main character. Glad you enjoyed this new entry, I'm surprised how well it worked for me. Thanks for tuning in!
Great review man couldn’t agree more with you the movie was really enjoyable and def seems like a great start to what could be a great trilogy love that opening line 😂😂
Haha glad you enjoyed the cheesy opening, I knew at least one person would! Pumped to see you dug this entry, I think it's gonna be an awesome new trilogy. Thanks for watching, man!
Rise always will be my favorite Apes movie but I enjoyed this movie. I wasnt a fan of any of the human characters, Mae didnt do it for me but she had a specific purpose in this film. Great review as always.
Having Rise as your favorite of the reboot series is definitely an interesting choice, why do you think that one works for you so well? I remember the whole theater being silent when Caesar spoke for the first time...Glad you dug this new entry too. Thanks for tuning in, T!
@SullyStreams Caesar was the ultimate underdog. The relationship he developed with James Franco was special and John Lithgows performance really set this movie apart for me. Caesars' origin story was really about the struggle. How he was abused by the animal captors and the other apes but rose to become a leader, educated the apes and punished his abusers. It's really a story of the struggle with humans really doubting and trying to put down literally someone who just wanted to be free. The fact they made me feel and care about a damn bloody ape, that's amazing all in itself. It's funny how movies can be seen and felt so differently, which is the beauty of all movies.
This movie comes the weekend of my birthday, and im glad to hear I'm given another great addition to the franchise
If you're a big fan of the franchise, then that is a killer birthday present. Enjoy it!
At times the horses looked odd. I hope they look better in the next one.
I didn't notice that myself, I'll have to look for it when I rewatch the movie. Thanks for tuning in!
Good opening zinger!! I was entertained by the movie tonight!! My wife a little less. My criticism is same for almost any film so not much of a criticism: too long. I got pulled in from the beginning. My wife felt little too Avatar in too much “teen bonding” to start. On a more positive note, she felt the female/human/echo character was better than she expected. I always just want to be entertained and engaged and was for sure. Let’s call this the first movie of the summer season and I’ll be glad to hear it did well in box office.
Glad you dug this one too, Bill! I'm pumped with how this one turned out and can't wait to see where they take the story next after that ending. Thanks for tuning in!
What a surprise film. I loved the distinct personalities and appearances of the apes. Would be easy for them to all look alike. Raka was my favorite.
I really wasn’t not expecting to dig this one as much as I did, but Wes Ball crafted a really good post-Caesar era film here! Raka was definitely my favorite too, I’m with you there. Thanks for tuning in!
If I'm being honest, I don't really remember these movies all that well. I know I enjoyed them well enough, because I bought the set on Blu-ray, but I only remember bits and pieces. I guess it's time to give them a rewatch.
I just gave the lady trilogy a rewatch before the new one came out, and they are definitely worth revisiting. Curious to see what you’ll think of this one. Thanks for watching, JM!
I think they’re heading towards a human retaking of the planet. I’m interested were that satellite communications thing is going.
I definitely have some theories about what that ending could mean, and I'm excited about all of the possibilities. Thanks for watching!
Awesome video!
Hey thanks, dude! Which of these Apes movies do you think is your favorite? Thanks for watching!
@@SullyStreams I’ve only seen Rise and Kingdom so I’ll pick Rise.
I hear Dawn and War are better tho.
@@augustkellerwrites you should definitely give the others a watch if you enjoyed those two, Dawn especially is top tier!
@@SullyStreams that seems to be the most beloved one. Thanks for the tip!
And keep up the great work!
@@augustkellerwrites thank you for the support!
My fav is probably Rise of the Planet of the Apes
That one is actually my least favorite of the reboot franchise, but it's still super entertaining!
