FYI, if anyone has the 17 inch version of this laptop, this tutorial will work just fine. The only difference is that the hinges have three screws instead of two. Otherwise, it's spot on. Thanks!

I went to the repair shop, they modified some plastic component to fasten the bezel and glued it, done.
The screen model number is NT156FHM-N62. For a replacement I would recommend the N156HCA-EA1 for better colors and brightness (45% vs 72% NTSC and 250 vs 300 nits). The 30-pin interface connection is identical.
So can we use oled panel inplace of ips or vice versa ?
@@lyrically1888 No. You have to match the same internal screen connection interface. I doubt you will find an OLED panel with the same specifications.
@@Salsajaman sorry , wht do you mean ? Do we need to have same specifications for both screens like same brightness , screen resolution or you mean something else
@@lyrically1888 Brightness and resolution are not as important. You want to match the physical dimensions and the connection interface between the panel and the laptop that is connected by a cable.
You have to search the internet for the panel model that you know works (NT156FHM-N62 in this case), then click on the Panelook site link.
Go to the Specifications tab at the top and scroll down to Mechanical Details. You must match the categories Active Viewing and Shape Style for the panel to fit in your laptop.
Then scroll down to Interface Details. There you see categories Pins, Pin Pitch, and Signal Interface (or Signal Type, Interface Type, etc.). Also important is matching the Pin Assignment. This is the way the 30 pins are wired to different voltages and ground, and this must match as well. This code can vary slightly between compatible models, so you have to find the datasheets for each pin assignment code and check to see the pin values match.
In that same Interface Details category under Model it will show the specific connector. You can usually click it and it will show you a bunch of panels that are likely compatible but must be verified with the steps above.
On the Overview tab at the top, if you scroll down it will show a list of panels that have a good chance of being compatible. But again you have to verify the interfaces and dimensions because they may vary slightly.

I have a quick question, I bought an ASUS Vivobook M515D ryzen 5 that came with an LCD screen, is it possible to replace the screen with a FHD one?
I don't think so because it's not all about the screen, it also depends on the GPU. For an example, eyeglass would not fix the blind eye. But you can get the best quality screen for better results.Thanks
@@thepcphone I upgraded the drivers and the options for the resolutions increased to 2560x1440 but the recommended resolution is 1366x768

I broke the the black boarder surrounding the screen, but not the screen itself. does anyone know where I can find a replacement?
This black film on my screen got shrunk from one side and the cable got burn! This is what the repair shop man told me! Does that mean whole screen is now damaged and of no use?

How can I tell if a screen is compatible to this exact model? Do I need to look for a 15.6 inch 30 pin connector screen? I'm asking because I cannot find an original screen to X512D.

Had got same laptop repaired from service center
but their is bezel gap on left hinge side and slight bulge
as i can fell something is poking behind
bezel is not in flush as on right side
i check with the service center and they told its fine and not an issue
when ever i open it i could see the bezel screws through the gap

I take it apart and it's got an ATNA56YX03-0 (SDC4161) Samsung oled panel in it.
Can i put in an IPS srceen in it? Which screen is compatible with it?

Hello sir.. i have same model of this laptop.. and the lcd is damage already.. coz my son used it.. and accidentally punch it.. thats why the lcd is broken.. can i know the model of the lcd? So that i can buy the right one to replace it by my own.
I am sorry for the late reply. Remove the broken LCD to know the correct model. Back of the screen you would find the correct model number.
I took my laptop to get fixed 3 weeks ago and got it back with the bezel broken . i no i should of taking it back to shop and complained but i was busy and placed Sellotape it fix broken bezel now screen is broke again. do you know were i can buy bezel of whole top screen unit.

My context is that my webcam stoped working, everytime I try to use it it turn the inbuilt led light on and off very quickly and the software (win webcam app, or zoom) don't catch the webcam, I tried everysingle tutorial on the internet, googled the error code, and I'm just left to think that is a hardware issue. Hi. My asus vivobook15 has a yellow tint screen, i think its normal for this brand. Do you know how to fix this? TIA
Do you have the "Night Light" setting on? If you do, it will add a yellow tint over the screen. To check, type Night Light in the search bar on the task bar at the bottom of the screen. Click on night light and the window should open up. Once in, you can turn it on or off, or adjust the intensity of the yellow tint. Hope this helps

dam my screen doest have those last 2 screws up top. its just stuck to the case somehow
Sorry to hear that, remember never to do a shortcut in the event of any repair. Now carefully open up the top plastic by taking out the screws from the hinges, and you will get back the screws!
@@thepcphone I meant my model is slightly different from yours. my screen was attached to the case by some kind of adhesive glue. eventually I got it off and my screen is working. Thanks!
