However, it seems like League's Varus is more aligned with Varus taking control and silencing Valmar and Kai, rather than Varus in LoR that had somewhat accepted their voices as part of him.
What interesting about that is that it means she can also hear Rhaast, the Maiden, Alune, the Primal Freljord Gods, and many more voices inside other champions.

Once he got back to the village and saw his home, wife, kid, friends and entire village decimated, he decided to give in to the eldritch power of the well, no matter how much time it'll give him, **he will get his vengeance.** Subsequent lore updates, with Val & Kai, dilluated this a bit, but over time they added back in his og lore (because he was the only champ with such themes) and now he's gone back full swing, someone that gave in but still remembers he's human after all, and will turn the tables for people to get their revenge as one

If I remember correctly, Varus is the amalgamation of three. The bow is the darkin, and the body is one of the two lovers, I don't remember which one it is. But the 2 lovers were defending their home and one used prohibited darkin's power, which corrupted him, and the other lover, to save him and to prevent darkin consuming him, joined his body in a spiritual way. And the power of the lovers managed to balance out the power of the darkin, which created Varus

That's why Aatrox burns through his host like coffee cups. He is simply too powerful and impatient that even his strongest host can't handle him. Whereas Rhaast and Varus are relatively fine since they haven't ... A. Completely taken over their bodies and ... B. Actually care (Rhasst to a degree) about their hosts.
honestly i've long held that varus's retconned backstory was the most comically homophobic thing riot could've done (they essentially buried two gays - retroactively - for the price of one) but now that TF and Graves are canon, I think the decision to make Varus into a big ole DBZ/Steven Universe fusion who got redeemed by the power of gay love - and have that be reflected in voice lines - actually is a good way to redeem what was originally a pretty shit writing choice.

I find it extremely offensive that every god damn darkin, even the ones that aren't champions are already in LoR, and Aatrox for some fucking reason still isn't.
Varus in lore is the most psychopathic of the Darkin, even when he was human after losing his family to Icathians, the Ascended were said to be wary of him because something broke within him, after he Ascended he would torture his victims for days keeping them on the edge of death before killing them, the only character more innately evil than Varus is Thresh, he's the only one who matches this level of sadism. Why would he listen to what basically amounts to his skin suit? It makes more sense for even Kayn and Rhaast to get on as they both have that warrior's edge and are killers the only thing is Kayn has a warped sense of honor and Rhaast kills for fun... plus if Rhaast was Vladimir's master like some theorize it makes sense for him to have a pet. Varus has always viewed humans as nothing but worms who deserve to die. The whole "lost nobility" thing is Aatrox's angle. This direction is frankly out of left field and unbelievable if you've read any of Varus' lore, but abrupt changes to Varus and his character is par for the course for Riot.

I think you're doing Varus a big disservice by comparing him to Thresh or saying that he is at all as undeniably irredeemably evil as Thresh. Varus is evil like the other darkin but like the others (except Rhaast) his folly came from a very human place the failure to protect his family. Suddenly all of the love of his life was gone and he coped by being a bloody vengeance hungry killer. So Valmar and Kai essentially showing him love not unlike the love his old family had, I'd say that there would be no better way to go about turning Varus into the only good (well not genocidal) darkin.
Where does it say that? I read Varus’ lore, he’s no Thresh. Like the other darkin, eternity and the void drove him crazy, the loss of his family drove him over the edge.

I've always played with this theory for varus. (I am a proud Varus main BTW) He has 2 people in him right? Valmar and Kai. I always wondered why riot didn't give him the 4 arms and instead to one of jhin's skins. Because that would have made sense in the past, and now it makes even more sense. Say if they continue the darkin lore in LoL and LoR. Varus tries to silence the 2 inside him but instead of pulling it off. He makes the 2 stronger inside him, and doing this they show him there full pass, their childhood, growing up, falling in love, etc. Then they show Varus his own pass, of how he was, and maybe he too has a male lover that he lost during the war with the void that helped make him go mad when darkin ran out of things to fight and were starting to go insane for power. In doing this, Valmar and Kai bond with Varus to heal him, to show him acceptance and love, warmth and belonging. He has always talked about becoming one, starting a new to continue forward, and this is Valmar and Kai giving him that new. The 3 fully merge and fuse together. To make a new soul, a new person. They keep there memoires of there pass, but now reborn, with 4 arms included because the body would have to do it for all of them to actually work together, or better yet it could be apart of the blood magic that darkin were great at using. Now with new power gained, but also a new sense of hope and meaning, knowing he, well they all have each other to love, care, and fight alongside eachother. They go out to teach and give off there wisdom to others, or they could go off to fight darkins that are trying to destroy the world. Maybe even more honestly.

honestly i've long held that varus's retconned backstory was the most comically homophobic thing riot could've done (they essentially buried two gays - retroactively - for the price of one) but now that TF and Graves are canon, I think the decision to make Varus into a big ole DBZ/Steven Universe fusion who got redeemed by the power of gay love - and have that be reflected in voice lines - actually is a good way to redeem what was originally a pretty shit writing choice.
im confused. Varus's retconned backstory was he was just always 1 guy who was supposed to guard some well that had a "great power" in it and got tempted to use it and became corrupted. Idk how that's homophobic

So I think when varus, the darkin, thinks, he uses he/him, when he has to physically do something, uses I/we/us and when he refers to the 2 men sharing his body, uses they/them.

I find it extremely offensive that every god damn darkin, even the ones that aren't champions are already in LoR, and Aatrox for some fucking reason still isn't.

Varus in lore is the most psychopathic of the Darkin, even when he was human after losing his family to Icathians, the Ascended were said to be wary of him because something broke within him, after he Ascended he would torture his victims for days keeping them on the edge of death before killing them, the only character more innately evil than Varus is Thresh, he's the only one who matches this level of sadism. Why would he listen to what basically amounts to his skin suit? It makes more sense for even Kayn and Rhaast to get on as they both have that warrior's edge and are killers the only thing is Kayn has a warped sense of honor and Rhaast kills for fun... plus if Rhaast was Vladimir's master like some theorize it makes sense for him to have a pet. Varus has always viewed humans as nothing but worms who deserve to die. The whole "lost nobility" thing is Aatrox's angle. This direction is frankly out of left field and unbelievable if you've read any of Varus' lore, but abrupt changes to Varus and his character is par for the course for Riot.

also where was it said that varus would torture his victims like thresh does or that he is in anyway similar to thresh? he is no different than the other darkin in this aspect and his bio says he became crazy during the icathia battle because of the death of his family and he would scream in anguish for every arrow he loosed because he chose to not protect his family
I think you're doing Varus a big disservice by comparing him to Thresh or saying that he is at all as undeniably irredeemably evil as Thresh. Varus is evil like the other darkin but like the others (except Rhaast) his folly came from a very human place the failure to protect his family. Suddenly all of the love of his life was gone and he coped by being a bloody vengeance hungry killer. So Valmar and Kai essentially showing him love not unlike the love his old family had, I'd say that there would be no better way to go about turning Varus into the only good (well not genocidal) darkin.
Where does it say that? I read Varus’ lore, he’s no Thresh. Like the other darkin, eternity and the void drove him crazy, the loss of his family drove him over the edge.

I've always played with this theory for varus. (I am a proud Varus main BTW) He has 2 people in him right? Valmar and Kai. I always wondered why riot didn't give him the 4 arms and instead to one of jhin's skins. Because that would have made sense in the past, and now it makes even more sense. Say if they continue the darkin lore in LoL and LoR. Varus tries to silence the 2 inside him but instead of pulling it off. He makes the 2 stronger inside him, and doing this they show him there full pass, their childhood, growing up, falling in love, etc. Then they show Varus his own pass, of how he was, and maybe he too has a male lover that he lost during the war with the void that helped make him go mad when darkin ran out of things to fight and were starting to go insane for power.
In doing this, Valmar and Kai bond with Varus to heal him, to show him acceptance and love, warmth and belonging. He has always talked about becoming one, starting a new to continue forward, and this is Valmar and Kai giving him that new. The 3 fully merge and fuse together. To make a new soul, a new person. They keep there memoires of there pass, but now reborn, with 4 arms included because the body would have to do it for all of them to actually work together, or better yet it could be apart of the blood magic that darkin were great at using. Now with new power gained, but also a new sense of hope and meaning, knowing he, well they all have each other to love, care, and fight alongside eachother. They go out to teach and give off there wisdom to others, or they could go off to fight darkins that are trying to destroy the world. Maybe even more honestly.
