The only plausible reason why people are updating is because the old one has lost its battery capacity significantly.
My battery, the static in one, the updated charging case, adaptive transparency and better ANC are the reasons why I’m upgrading.
New driver hoping for better sound, new H2 chip, longer battery life, new volume control, transparency mode that doesn’t kill your ear drums, new case with a few new features and better ANC could plausibly be more plausible reasons to upgrade.
Also just buying this if you don’t already have them
I have gen 1 AirPods. Thinking of getting these.
I still have the AirPods 1 which I’ve had since 2019 I think it’s time to upgrade
Still using my original airpods pro and I’m definitely ready for an upgrade. When I was watching the presentation and heard “2x noise cancellation” it was already an instant buy for me. I almost feel like the noise cancellation on my current pros has degraded over time. I ride the bus a lot, to and from class, and more noise cancellation is definitely a needed perk.
Yeah the noise cancellation has degraded over time on my pros too! Thought it was only me!
Remember, it’s “up to” x2 noise cancellation. I’m getting them either way, just clarifying though 👍
@@RosiePeaNutella why would they degrade? Was it software like some people say?
@@RosiePeaNutella No it didn’t you guys just have gotten used to how much is tries to process. Now that it’s been 3 year your ears have had plenty of time to adjust
@@paulregener7016 It's well documented that they destroyed the noise canceling after launch. Audiophiles agree as well, and I sure as hell trust them more than you.
I’m very impressed with how they really attended to their customers and their recommendations. I hate how on Find My with the regular Airpods are impossible to find. Definitely worth the upgrade just for that.
Fax i just bought the airpod pro 2nd gen and i currently still have my 2016 og airpods. The find my was literally useless when i lost em at times, managed to always find em tho
Crazy how my old Galaxy Buds+ have that option on each earphone and cost like $50 nowadays.
@@maikelsauceda8175 and i bet u they don’t sound nearly as good as airpods 😭😭😭
Yeah if you’re willing to pay $250 for an overpriced piece of hardware then you’re definitely willing to do it again for find my
@@chaslous Unfortunately no one is buying AirPods for sound quality😭😭😭
Hey Dan, personalized spatial audio by scanning the ear came to AirPods Pro Gen 1 with iOS 16.
Custom EQ based on your ear design was already there.
I will love to see tests of how the "ear scan" really affects spacial audio performance. I can't imagine the shape of your external ear makes an enormous difference in what an in-ear canal earphone can do.
It’s not an AirPods Pro 2 only feature it’s been on the iOS 16 beta for a while now unless they disable it for older AirPods now… it uses the Face ID true depth scanner for your outer & inner ear as best as it can.
I don't think that ear scan feature is much more than good marketing.
I'm may be completely wrong, but I assumed the scanning of the outer ear allowed it to get an idea of how you hear sounds in real life and adapt the in ear speaker to fit the way you hear naturally.
Adaptive noise cancellation is a seller for me. I really find it useful when I need some peace & quiet. The volume adjustment is nice even though using the Digital Crown on my watch is quite seamless already.
it is amazing to me how you manage to explain such little information over such a long time
My 1st gen pros are getting buzzy after a few years, no water damaged just deteriorated overtime. Apple has a 3 year warranty program that covers the buzz but i was out of that time frame. So wondering if the 2s are a buy vs a cheaper alternative the beats buds
so I got the beats buds cause my AirPods Pro 1 were stolen not too long ago, and don’t get me wrong, the beats buds sounded pretty good. A very bassy and bold sound when it came to music although imo it lacked in the mid department and the ANC and transparency modes were no where near to being as good as AirPods Pro. Also the comfort wasn’t there for me since beats buds don’t have the thing that gets rid of air pressure in your ears when you use them. I ended up returning the buds and ordered AirPods Pro 2. Mic quality was also a factor to me as you sound more clear using AirPods Pro for calls and such
My 1st gen pros are buzzing i can’t understand why it’s makeing that noise. I just bought 2nd gen pros 2 today sound quality Is much better on the 2 gen pros.
Fairly sure the buzzing is due to earwax building up in the anc sensor causing it to compensate for frequency that doesn't exist, causing buzzing.
That sucks I was able to get mine for buzzing in time for them to give me new ones
check with them in store.. I was able to get them replaced with a revised version. It was like a silent recall.
Let‘s hope the new driver-amplifier provide a decent upgrade giving us lower frequency bass and higher resolution presence without sacrificing the great mid-range that the 1st Gen had compared to the scooped sound of most of the competition. Apple always had the most natural sound and bringing that to the next level of fidelity would be fantastic.
Excited to try the new tips! Hopefully they fit better
I would be down to upgrade just for noise canceling and the new gestures. I hope they are louder and the new cap sizes are nice + 6 hours on top of the current battery. They are still expensive, but are the best sounding wireless earbuds for apple users
Why would you need them to be louder? Better sounding maybe but not louder
@@GamesWorld03bro damaged his hearing
I got the original AirPods pro 1 year and 4 months ago and they still work amazing like new for me. I use them 24/7 as much as I can if they’re not charging they’re in my ears.
I would like to point out that personalized EQ and personalized spatial audio is on the AirPods Pro 1st gen aswell.
Personalized spatial audio is just a new feature coming with iOS 16
Yes! I have personalized spatial audio on my aiprod 3rd gens too!
I love how you placed a banner on left-down corner related to the reasons/upgrade you are talking about. Video content, quality, all were beyond the top. Keep up the good work 👏💯
I've been using the original 1st gen airpods since they came out and they've been a lifesaver lol. But the battery has degraded so much they only last about an hour. The airpod pro 2's seem like a worthwhile upgrade for sure.
mine dont even last 30 minutes, i need the upgrade too lol
@@jayjackman1793 I got one that turns off after 15 mins and the other after an hour 😕
@@sirryaniv for how long have you been using them?
@@kirilandonov2988 Three years and 6 months
Planned obsolescence
Not sure how good the new adaptive transparency mode is, but I have a feeling that they’ve secretly added it to the original AirPods Pro to experiment without telling us. I’ve been using the transparency mode on AirPods Pro for a long time and I’ve noticed that whenever really loud noises like sirens or construction sounds occur, the noises suddenly become a bit quieter half a second later.
Specially with wind.
I agree with this theory. In Accessibility, you can adjust the amount of noise actively cancelled in Transparency Mode, up to a point which is still less than full ANC.
This has been in them since launch. Whenever there is a sudden fire truck or so it noise cancels. Nothing new imo
couldn't agree more! when im using a loud treadmill at the gym I can sometimes here it reducing the noises on transparency mode
Bro i thought there is something wrong with my airpods 😂
Being honest, it is still a better idea than other touch controls on other earbuds. I'm no iPhone fan, but the audio/build quality is pretty good. I also hope the mic quality has improved as much as you boast it to have done so. Very good improvement of battery life, really appreciate them making it charge wirelessly. However, I wish Sony had come up with a similar design to this instead of the xm4 series they have right now.
No way to accidentally turn up or down your volume when taking the buds out of your ear.
Grabbing the buds won’t activate the controls. You literally need to swipe like apple has shown on video.
@@bodigames I see, I shall edit my comment immediately
The prices have already been posted whenever they made their presentation announcement. It is $249.
It was silly that anyone even believed the whole lossless audio thing. I didn’t believe it as soon as I heard because it’s basically technologically impossible for small AirPods. The only way they could’ve possibly done it is via airplay but as AirPlay uses Wi-Fi the battery life would only last about one hour so it was a completely nonsense rumour
Lossless audio is kinda weird to not have. I got my gen 1 at launch, but had a warranty swap on both pods so they got some life on them for a minute. I’ll prob wait to see how hands on look for folks before I put a order in
I got the AP Pro’s on release after a few years of heavy use my battery life has barely dropped. I’ll be passing on the V2’s. As for sound I got the B&O Ex’s on release. These things are next level. I can’t see how these can be beat at all
Lossless audio is really the key factor for me. Once a headphone can stream better than the normal Bluetooth codec I’ll be in line to buy it right away!
The personalized audio feature is available for all iOS 16 users that have a recent iPhone. Even with gen 1 AirPods Pros. I'm using it already, but can't tell the difference...
I also have it enabled and it's a minor difference, but I think it'll be better tuned for the AirPods Pro 2 with the new H2 chip and the new drivers.
Will it work with iPhone 11?
@@ozzyningning yep
Im wondering that does the sptial audio feature require an iphone with Lidar scanner camera like 12 pro and up.
@@Peaklow no. It uses the TrueDepth camera that Face ID uses. I used it with my regular iPhone 13
I got these on order. Cannot wait!
I have the first gen pro. Left it in my pocket in the laundry machine and still works only thing not working is the noise cancellation … I’m amazed.
Its amazing how far earbuds and technology in general have come
Being honest the deeper bass and the double noise cancellation quality sound very good when i might buy this in the future
This was some really good information. Thanks as always for your in-depth videos.
Personalized spatial audio and adaptive EQ are not specific to the new AirPods Pro. It’s a feature of iOS 16 for any AirPods with spatial audio.
Loved the features and sound from my AirPods Pro but no matter what ear tips I used I just couldn’t get them to stay in my ears. Finally went to Beat Fit Pro without issues!
Beats fit always fell out my ear I changed to memory foam ear peices and perfect. Just change the ear foams
Have the 1st gen and love them Planning on getting these soon maybe next year
The addition of the extra small ear tip was a great surprise for me as I have very small ears
My airpod pros started to develop a crackling sound in the left bud when both are in-ear, so I will definitely be picking up the pro 2s when they come out
Should have mine the 23rd Sept 😁- sure hope we don't get any issues down the line as my Gen 1's were sen't back for repair twice for various sound defects ie transparency breakdown, fuzziness in left bud, drop off in bass etc - the only Apple product i've ever had that has let me down 🙏
I already ordered the second generation and I can’t wait for them. These are going to be my first ever AirPods.
I’m curious if the case is bigger given the number of protective cases sold, I guess I’ll find out when mine comes
The whole loud noise detection with transparency mode the first gen can somewhat finish those sounds with transparency mode…it kicked in when the train passes or when the beeping for the doors occurs for me so the feature is there just not as fast…it’s not a gen two only feature the gen one has it just not as polished
Hopefully they’ve added substantial bass bcuz they definitely lacked in that
From the looks I still think I like the secure fit of the beats fit pro. But would like to see a full comparison between the two
Beats Pro eartips quality deteriorate I liked them aside from this
unless my first pros are broken, I've noticed they also do adaptive noise cancellation when ever a loud sound suddenly pops up
Definitely, I will upgrade to Airpods Pro 2 for the sake of volume control. Volume control is a must. For TWS.
Lol
I was thinking it too but then turned out it doesn’t have lossless so meh nothing to worry
Love your outro music bro! Edm for life!!!🎉🎉
Idk.. I tried the new airpods and I think apples biggest mistake is making the first ones so good
underrated comment
Which one is good?
First one so good!?
I have been using Gen 1 for 3 years and its crap. Constant bugs and disconnecting from my iphone 12 PM. Never again!
I hate the new ones cuz there so much quieter
@@Matsamoto well then there is something wrong with urs lmao
Yes Daniel please do a comparison video on the Air pods pro 2 vs its competitors!
Thanks for the info. I’d like more detail on LE audio. As I understand it, it’s not possible over Bluetooth, that leaves Airplay as the potential way to make use of it?
I was the first generation user and I bought the new one definitely the first one more better than the new one I mean from the noise cancellation perspective because the new one is adaptive so you still can hear what’s surrounding you, but with the old one it’s completely blocking the surrounding , long story short, I gave it to my daughter and I’m still using the first generation
me, still using the first gen of airpods ever, pretty hyped for these! definitely buying them!
Im not sure why ANY RUclipsr is mentioning that the ear scan is not an AirPods Pro 2 only feature…it’s literally been on the iOS 16 beta for a while now unless they disable it for older AirPods now… it uses the Face ID true depth scanner for your outer & inner ear as best as it can.
I am so happy that they didn’t change the design of AirPods. It’s so perfect and practical.
I’ve been waiting for the upgrade so I can adjust the volume with just the earphones. Can’t wait.
0:31 How nice to witness this by chance. IMac said "Merhaba"
Still rockin in the gym with the og airpods pro
I have the 3rd gen and I’m happy with it
I’m finally upgrading from the AirPods 1 to the new AirPods Pro 2. I’ve been using the AirPods 1 since 2019 so I’m really excited for the new AirPods 2 especially for the noise cancellation! 😁
Will the connection distance be better? I walk around my office and hate to have to carry my phone around. I have my watch which is cellular however it connects naturally via Bluetooth so when your away from the phone it takes a few minutes to switch over. I would love it if the range was closer to 50 feet versus hardly 30…
I just got a great deal on the original AirPods Pro (gen 1) and seeing that the new ones only got like 20-30% better sold me on the old ones. I bought 2 pairs, for me and my wife, for the price of one of the new.
I also ordered one for me. How's it till now? Did you notice any downgrade in overall quality via software updates as rumoured in some videos?
How are they doing far?
Easily the product I am most hyped for from the KeyNote!
The 1st gen, to me, were worse in nearly any point compared to my Jabra Elite 75t I am currently using, but the 2nd gen, at least on paper, seems to rectify most of those points.
Will definitley try them out, once they are readily available!
I currently have the Sony 1000-XM3. were you able to compare the Airpods pro 1st gen with Any of Sony Ones? i am curious if i should get Airpods pro 1st gen due to price drop after 2nd gen launch being my first Airpods pro.
@@MohitPandey012
I had the chance to directly compare the 1st Gen AirPods Pro and 1000-XM4's, haven't tried the XM3's.
The XM4s beat the 1st gen AirPods Pro in nearly any point (at least for me): sound, battery life, ANC.
Theres only two points where the AirPods were better, transparancy mode and comfort.
I’m about to upgrade from the REGULAR 1st gen AirPods to the 2nd gen AirPod Pros. Needless to say I’m very excited of the jump.
I’m considering buying the AirPods Pro 2. Last year I lost one of my AirPods pro l, I was heartbroken and I was only using my first gen of AirPods, but i I didn’t get a replacement because I was waiting for this upgrade!!
My biggest problem is that when the old airpods pro are in transparency + you have a cap or sth on... then the movement of the hat/cap is rustling really loud in the airpods.
No high-res (24bit) wireless audio support, I find very disappointing. Still, a lot of worthwhile improvements here.
Just got mine replaced 2 weeks ago because of a defect which were pushing 3 years old. I’ll just keep these for a while since I got fresh batteries.
You should do something on headsets with Sidetone, something that’s rarely available on headsets nowadays, but if you have it it’s amazing and I can’t understand why it’s not readily available.
You know it’s really funny, just before the AirPods Pro 2 was announced, I couldn’t find my AirPods case in a hotel room once (I had the buds with me) and I thought “I wish the case had find my on it” and then a few weeks later they announced that exact feature
"Could come with a future software update" honestly, when have apple ever given us one of these rumoured "activate later" features? They'll just put it in the next version
They did it with spatial audio.
I'll probably get them, but I'm really disappointed that there's no lossless audio support.
I’m getting a huge upgrade I’m going from gen 2 to pro gen 2 I’m excited it’s already been pre ordered
they definitely had the idea for using the stem for volume control in the first model; they just wanted people to buy both. It worked on me, though ☹️
i got my 2019 AirPods pro ones lost in the beach, which made me upgrade to the 2ng gen and from watching this video i don’t regret the upgrade
Yes I’d like to see a comparaison to the other buds
The ANC is better but most importantly bass way more crisp and accurate, also the speaker on the case for find me was a game changer. Upgrade well worth it and I’m a cheapskate
Lost my 1st gen pros hiking today 😔 they served me well for 4 years rip
THE video we need thanks dude
New subscriber here 👋🏼 awesome video. Well explained without too much techy info. Thank you!!!
Great review. Aside from that, I don't think I'll buy them. I'm convinced that the microphone is still not great - they barely focused on it during the launch. Also, no lossless, so no point to change my 2019 Pros.
How much better would u say the sound quality is from last generation?
One of my gen 1 ear buds just broke so I’m upgrading to the gen 2s after a few years of good service
excited to buy, and id love to hear comparisons
Thank you Dan, mine arrive a week Friday, looking forward to them, much improved aren't they, the volume up & down and better noise cancelling are great improvement. 👍🏻🙂❤️xx
isnt it 2 weeks till they start shipping?
Yes the 23rd. ✌️
@@Casvde1 First batch should arrive on the 23.
Hello! Is it possible to use the gen 2 case with the gen one airpods?
Have a nice day!!!
Switching to the iPhone 14 pro max from the s20u and definitely gonna be picking up a pair of these as well
I still have the 1st gen wireless AirPods so I’m pretty excited to get the AirPods Pro 2
I think if ur gen1 is still pretty good with no any issues, no need to upgrade imo
still upgrading
Hopefully the sound will be noticeably better
I noticed that the case also has a magnet... not sure if it was for the charging port, but it serves well to let it hang on the refrigerator lol...
Bought AirPods Pro 1 just before the apple event and it’s been great the noise cancellation very good and good quality especially in the gym may get New AirPods in a couple of years
What about base? Does it match a Bose or even a Jabra which have excellent base?
Hello ZOT, I am excited to see if the new AirPods Pro 2 will improve vastly above the first version. I am currently using the Sony WF1000-XM4. These are good earbuds, but I miss the smaller size fit of the AirPods Pro I owned before upgrading to the Sony XM4. The Sony has very good noise cancelling and sound quality. However my biggest problem is the fit of the earbuds in ear. They have an almost uncomfortable fit in my ear which accommodates standard size earbuds with medium size tips. I would be interested to see a comparison from the new Apple AirPods Pro 2 vs the Sony WF1000-XM4. I hope to get back to the AirPods if the comparison turns out well. Thank you.
Is there a difference in size of the case?
Very informative! Thank you!
I’ll stuck to my beats earbuds noise cancellation excellent plus they just fit better but i do love the call quality of air pod pro
I had two already Powerbeats, this time I want buy this one just came out .
Great video does the ear tips from gen 1 fit gen 2
I just got the AirPods Pro 2 (my og AirPods Pro still work but won’t charge if I don’t plug them in and i feel the transparency and noise cancellation has degraded. And while the sound is still good I feel like they start buzzing whenever I put them in. My og AirPods 1 that I got lasted longer than the pros) and they definitely sound better than the original air pods pro and the noise cancellation and transparency feels improved.
best video I have found! tk you so much!
Your video is super helpful, I have The Pro 1, I am happy with it but the thing that preventing me from upgrading is that I invested a lot of money on the 1st Airpods pro that I think I’m obliged to stick with it until it’s unbearable to the ear 😅
Coming from AirPods 1st gen where its battery only last maybe 2hrs (& a half if I’m lucky), the sound quality has gotten quieter on both AirPods, and case looks like it’s been through war. I’m definitely excited for these and can’t wait to be able to listen to music without struggling to hear 🥹
I’ve been with my first gen of pro and I’m ready for the upgrade. I wouldn’t if it weren’t for the fact that they fail to charge and I’m constantly struggling with it so I’m ready for these new gen
Hopefully the speakers work this time . I don't know if I'll buy another pair . Going to look for an alternative first.
Does this mean the ANC will cancel higher frequencies than on AirPods Pro 1? I’m trying to work it out. 48k sample rate suggests that this could be so.
I’m watching this with my first gen regular airpods 😂 Def gonna upgrade.
