One thing that I would have added is that many of the actuators do not come with the rod that leads to the outer handle attached. I had a fun time swapping that over. Showing how to remove and replace it would be helpful.
Clear descriptions; steady video image; great lighting/interior door shots. Thank you for this helpful video. I did the back door a few weeks ago. I'll be doing the front door tomorrow!
Very nicely covered. Well explained, good lighting good hints . I think I am now 25% capable and convinced I can do this task . I’m also thinking I should go to a wrecking yard first and practice on a couple CRVs before I attack mine . My biggest fear is getting that window track thing lined up . Thank you 🎉.
Great video and detailed but 1 exception, do not remove the rod from the door handle! The plastic piece behind the handle always break. Instead just remove the plastic piece on the bottom of the metal Rod, and Put the new plastic coupling and you will save a major headache
Awesome video Sir!! Just curious if the outer door handle rod that is attached to the switch doesn’t come with the new unit is it possible to reuse the existing rod? I couldn’t see how it attached to the switch but I’m assuming it should be able to. Thank you for the video and any assistance you can provide!
@tim71ford: Thanks! The rod definitely should come with the replacement unit. If for some reason you don’t have it I suppose you could reuse the old one. You can see a very brief glimpse of how it is attached at 9:41 when I pull the old unit out of the door.
How come I'm not seeing the little "flat head" looking piece that goes into the bottom on the actuator? I never saw it when i took the old one off and I don't see it now...
Maybe an hour or two specially if you’re taking your time and being careful with removing the door, clips, etc. it took me a lot longer because I was filming.
@Joseph R: I’m not sure from your description what happened. Perhaps take off the door panel again and test it so you can observe the movement of the mechanism to see whether anything is hooked up incorrectly.
@@LongologoProductions Update. I removed the actuator and test for proper functionality. After confirmation I put everything back in only to have the same result. I disconnected the lock cable from the actuator, rotated the lock mechanism 180* and hook the cable back. This fixed the issue. The key is a bit rough inserting but the power locks work. The only issue I have now is that the power window is now not working. I will take the door panel off to check if something is obstructing the window and hope that is the issue. Any idea on that?
@@josephr9105 : good to know the lock mechanism works now. For the window I would check that the harness connector is seated properly so that it’s responding to the switch. Assuming you didn’t mess around with the window unrelated to the door right?
@@LongologoProductions I am going to pull panel and remove the harness clean it and put die electric compound to make sure all pins are seated. The remaining three windows are functioning so I might have to check to make sure I didn’t shear a wire or something. That’s a guess. I hope it’s just the harness is not seated properly.
Thank good ness😂 pain in the ass if you ask me , I’m not sure if I should try it , mine needs replacement, should I do it me self or pay someone to do it 🤔.
Awwsome video!! Perfevt step by step HOW TO DO it. Couldnt have been better!! THANK YOU!!
This was the best and most concise version I've seen for this model of CR-V. Thank you!
This is one of the most complete videos on doing this that I have seen. Good Job.
@Raymond Frato: Thanks very much!

@@raymondfrato367 : Interesting. The ones I have ordered from Honda directly have always come with that rod so I haven't had to swap it over.

@Norman Vesprini: Thanks very much and happy new year!
Had the new part sitting in the box for longer than I care to admit. Thanks for this detailed video. It made the replacement much easier to perform!
@Jonathan Leon: Thank you and glad it helped!
I love your video. I’m a woman and I did it with this video. I didn’t want the shop to charge me all that money
@Anyely Burgos: Awesome! Thanks!

Very good tutorial how to. Thx for sharing.
Great video I’m sure I’m not going to be as calm as this dude is .
I never had a power door lock actuator go bad until I owned this vehicle, definitely a safety issue.
Perfect demonstration and explanation. Thanks.
@Shahram Khorsand: Thanks for commenting!
Great camera work and explanation! Thanks for sharing.
Wow, you are very thorough, you made my life a lot easier for me to take care of my problem. Thank you.

Thank you Longologo!! Followed every step, all is well Glory to God!!
Great video. Thanks for doing this. Saved me a lot of hassle.
@Lee Block: Thanks very much for the complement and glad it helped!
This is very helpful thank you
Thanks for the video. Great job!
This is very helpful, really appreciate it,
If I do the same on the passenger side door will it fix the door not stayed locked / randomly locking and unlocking ?
@Manuja Desilva: Possibly, assuming it is the actuator that is causing that behavior.
Fixed my passenger door and it fixed my issue of hitting 10 mph then constantly relocking. Great video btw awesome!!!

Thanks!
How long does one door take?

My passenger door is stuck on locked, the rear tailgate isn’t opening either. I’m looking at this video and it’s overwhelming
I'm having the same problem, were you able to fixed it ?
How do I take the door panel off if my door is stuck closed?
@justinbeaumont8780: try to manually release the door by removing the trim piece by the handle and pulling on the metal rod?
I could only get mine half way off but once I did I used a foot long flat head screw driver and a hammer to break the old actuator and open the door
Great camera work!
@rex colon: Thanks!
How can i change it ,if my doors are locked?
I removed trim already
@maiguurs: manually unlock the door with the knob above the door release pull lever.
@@LongologoProductions not working. Actuator kinda working . But from inside outside and directly pulling by hand wont work .like seized.
