      As well as the instrument not being a bugle the soldiers playing them were not horse guards but members of the Kings troop, Royal Horse Artillery.

      Ok I take back my words … maybe it is a kings troop trumpet …very similar to a ceremonial bugle …easy mistake..no one can say I don’t accept I’m wrong … I’m man enough to say I’m mistaken lol

      The “Four O’Clock Parade” at Horse Guards is traditionally known as the “Punishment Parade.” Originally, this daily inspection was used to discipline soldiers for minor infractions, hence the name. Today, it’s mostly ceremonial, keeping the tradition alive while offering a glimpse into the British military’s storied past.

    Female guard to Trumpeter Are you pleased to see me or is that a Trumpet in your hand?

    Punishment parade? *confused look* just a regular dismount of the guard ,you mean?

    • @officeguy3
      @officeguy3 15 часов назад +1

      Punishment Parade dates back to 1894 when Queen Victoria arrived home to find no guards at the gate. They were found drunk and gambling. She ordered the guard to be inspected at 4pm each day for 100 years. In 1994, on the completion of the 100 years, Queen Elizabeth ll ordered the tradition to continue for another 100 years.

    • @riff2072
      @riff2072 14 часов назад +5

      It is the daily 16:00 inspection and end of the day inspection of the mounted troops. It is called the Punishment Parade because the guards were not at their post when Queen Victory arrived at House Guards, over a 100 years ago. She ordered an inspection or, Punishments Inspection, at the end of the day and the tradition is still in place.

    Little pip squeak, never cleanse his or her own kit has an orderly to do that ,yet inspecting other soldiers for defaults. Yet, he or she needs a ladder to inspect the top of the dress hats. Ho, unless he has a high voice, it's a girl. Now I understand why. he is only 4' 4".
