The “Four O’Clock Parade” at Horse Guards is traditionally known as the “Punishment Parade.” Originally, this daily inspection was used to discipline soldiers for minor infractions, hence the name. Today, it’s mostly ceremonial, keeping the tradition alive while offering a glimpse into the British military’s storied past.
Female guard to Trumpeter Are you pleased to see me or is that a Trumpet in your hand? Paraphrased from Constable Habib from the Thin Blue Line dressed as a tart and male Constable obsessed with her Mars Bar scene. Are these troops getting smaller or is it my imagination?
Punishment Parade dates back to 1894 when Queen Victoria arrived home to find no guards at the gate. They were found drunk and gambling. She ordered the guard to be inspected at 4pm each day for 100 years. In 1994, on the completion of the 100 years, Queen Elizabeth ll ordered the tradition to continue for another 100 years.
It is the daily 16:00 inspection and end of the day inspection of the mounted troops. It is called the Punishment Parade because the guards were not at their post when Queen Victory arrived at House Guards, over a 100 years ago. She ordered an inspection or, Punishments Inspection, at the end of the day and the tradition is still in place.

Little pip squeak, never cleanse his or her own kit has an orderly to do that ,yet inspecting other soldiers for defaults. Yet, he or she needs a ladder to inspect the top of the dress hats. Ho, unless he has a high voice, it's a girl. Now I understand why. he is only 4' 4".
Best kings troop trumpet …lol player I’ve heard at horse guards in a long time .. kudos to him 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
And of course stunning 🐎
It was a trumpet but I bet he’s an excellent bugler too😂 loved it.
As well as the instrument not being a bugle the soldiers playing them were not horse guards but members of the Kings troop, Royal Horse Artillery.

Its most certainly a ceremonial bugle
Горн звучал замечательно! Большой респект горнисту😊
Snipers must have loved to know exactly where the officers were from their big white plumes in the 1800's in battles and full dress.
"punishment parade" seems more like standard inspection for duty to me
Spot on, standard inspection by subaltern commanding the guard.
Yes, no surprise at all.

Where do you get the idea that officers have orderlies anymore?
A Subaltern wouldn't have an orderly,

What an insulting comment. Why do men feel the need to put down women of high rank.
