Southwest Airlines B737-800 Economy Class - St. Louis to Los Angeles

- Continuing from PIT & MDW, in this video I now fly further west to Los Angeles, California aboard a Southwest Airlines B737-800 with their newer interior product. Everything about this flight was really solid starting with a fantastic crew who threw in jokes whenever they could and really treated the passengers right imo. The hard product also helped. Southwest's B737-800s make up a smaller portion of their fleet compared to the smaller B737-700 type, but these are much better to fly. Not all 737-800 cabins are new yet, but the ones that are feel very refreshed, modern, and hip vs their older ones. Really cool mood lighting along with large overhead bins, styled blue seats with adjustable headrests, and plenty of legroom even for tall people like me all just adds to the overall Southwest experience. They continue to be one of my favorite US domestic airlines based on flights like these. I still wish they would start adding power outlets or at least USB ports on their newer planes though as even ULCCs like Sun Country have something. But, hope you enjoy!

I’ll take #4 I guess then
#5
Looks like we got a fan club!
We had a reasonably hard landing in Orlando once, and our Southwest Pilot came on and simply announced in a dead-pan way, “We’re here.” Truly do enjoy flying them every time!
I’m heading to Florida on Wednesday morning I’m excited been watching your videos to get me in flight ✈️ mode ✈️♥️
I flew from DCA to STL en route to CLT, in September of '22, and during my layover in STL, I too had BK for food Chris!
I'll be flying Southwest Airlines from Austin Texas to St Louis non stop next Friday!
I learned a little more about Southwest Airlines. Thanks for posting this!
This video completely enhanced my mood. You are a very charming individual, Chris. Thank you so much.
Another amazing video! I think this is Outhwest best product by far. I've flown their MAX a couple of time they're amazing!
Great video. I am looking forward to taking a southwest flight to L.A.X next year haven't been on a plane since 1999
Same for me too and I flew to east coast just a flew weeks ago great staff and great flight for me
Great transition @13.50……….👍
No Place Like LA❤️
The hand sanitizer mid flight answers all my questions. Lol 😆😅 wow
Happy you’re doing full narrations for the videos now !!!! Great video brother !
Thank you!!
The Southwest terminal at STL is pretty packed nowadays. Unfortunately, there’s not too many options in terms of fast food. Burger King and grab and go sandwiches are pretty much it. When I connect there around a meal time, I try to pick something up at my origin airport since Southwest doesn’t have buy on board.
Flying sowthwest it's always a good experience.
STL is my former home town. I wish you could have seen it back in the TWA days. It would take 45 min to get thru the departure queue.
Also, what background music did you use for the boarding and departure segment? Loved the selection!
Excellent flight and video as always Chris! I’m loving this new format!😸
Hello Life’s Ups and Downs!
@@BluegrassElevators Hey Andrew!😸
I’m scared to fly on the max
Enjoyed your old format much, much more. Disappointed to see this change.
Hey man sorry to hear that :/ I see you've been subbed for awhile too. It was just time for me to move on and challenge myself with something new as the old stuff just got extremely boring to edit and watch. Honestly if I didn't change to this, I probably would've stopped uploading completely...5 years of that was enough and from the feedback I've seen so far around 98% of people enjoy these new vids much more (and so do I). When changing, I knew this wouldn't please everyone especially those that like natural sounds, so I do apologize man. Hopefully you can start to like them as well 🙂
@@thejazzguy13 I appreciate the reply. I understand where you're coming from. Change is part of the creative process and often necessary to keep an audience engaged. I wish you well, and safe travels.
Plz come to Stockholm someday!! :)
Are you planning to do international travel?
Possibly might do a few international trips soon! But don't have any filmed atm
Do you find a lot more room to stow carry-ons for people on Southwest because a lot more people check bags compared to the legacy carriers or are there the same amount of carry-on items?
I can't wait to see your Boeing 737 MAX videos when you are flying Southwest Airlines
I’m doing a no plane change on southwest’s max in December. TPA-STL-MSP
@@ethansonnenberg6744 all you do is just stay on the plane switch seats and just don't get off the plane
@@michaelsharp3615 yeah I’m planning to get a good engine view on the 2nd flight 👍
Nice views, highly recommended it. Very enjoyable and powerful stream, thanks.
Strong work as always Christo! Still cannot finger whether this is a full time gig, a spin-off from regular business travel or just and aspiring film maker doing his thing.
Thanks man! Just a hobby I enjoy doing! 🤙🏻
@@thejazzguy13 Well FFS Chris…by all means, keep doing it…it’s fantastic…and I don’t think a lot of folks (including me 😀) realize the time that goes into editing etc!
Glad you had a great experience in St. Louis!
Excuse me can you please tell me what camera do you use to do your vlog because your video quality of your vlog is beautiful and i need an good camera, But keep up the good work 😊👍🏿
AWESOME EDITING SKILLS!!!!!!!!
Great flight and video Chris!
STL makes a lot of sense as a mid continent hub. CATIII approaches, lots of ramp space to deice. MDW doesn't even have a standard CAT1. There's a reason TWA used it for 50 years.
Great flight!
How was St. Louis was it alright???
The Heart interior is definitely the best interior for Southwest. My tablet (Surface) has a built in kick stand, so I can use that to hold it in the lit pocket, and then use a bluetooh keyboard and mouse on the tray table to get work done. More comfortable than trying to squeeze in a laptop!
Hi jazz, Did you know that you can sit ANYWHERE you want.

Thank you so much for featuring my all time favorite show Animaniacs at 18:17. But I perfer the classic series 1993-1998
Always excited to see a new Jazzguy 13 vid.. Which airport is your favorite - so far?
What's your opinion on Animaniacs? I think it's awesome!
Never heard of it tbh
The reason why the isle feels smaller than on an ultra low cost airline is because your on a 737 spirit and frontier operate Airbuses! Which are wider than a 737!
At 18:40 the modern video he is referring to is the Aha inaugural flight from Reno Nevada to Pasco Washington!!! That will be the next video!!!
1st!
Southwest is great if you don’t mind no TV and being sucked out of a window.🙄
Southwest is a "single-class" airline the whole plane is "economy class"
Nice shots and overall a very nice video. I just want to ask you a favor, people like you have a little bit of power because of your large-size followers. I think for a long trip to LA, Southwest should have offered something more substantive in terms of food. Two little snacks are just simply an embarrassing offering. The favor is to ask you to use your influence and ask SouthWest to be a little bit more generous with respect to their food offerings; especially, for a long continental flight (across the country. The other favor is to ask you to see if you could follow my suggestions of getting the crew (flight attendants, pilots, and maintenance people) involved in your videos; either by sharing an interesting anecdote in their careers or perhaps, recording them in one of those funny communications they have with the passengers; most of the time, they do it or say funny things during the emergency information prior to lifting off in order to get people's attention to what they are saying about the safety features of their plane. Otherwise, your videos are always the same and it is getting boring. I bet you anything that if you try to have a conversation with a Captain or any of their crew members you will have tones of materials that are interesting and make the whole experience different every time you fly because their stories will always be different and interesting. Of course, this will take some doing, you need permission from the CEO & President so on and so forth but I am sure they will give it to you because of the quality and professionalism of your work. Just imaging the adventures of a lifetime to hear experiences and anecdotes from the Captain about tough landings on certain airports and under certain conditions. Don't say "No"; try it and see that it can be done. If Jeff Brooks was able to sit down with Delta's President and CEO you can set a formal meeting with SouthWest's President and CEO and ask him/her permission to interview (very short chats to be precise) about their career life experiences as a Captain, as a Pursair and Flight Attendant and as a chief mechanic for an airline. And interject these little chats with the rest of what you are normally doing right now. It will be a smashing hit. Best of Luck Jazzman 13!! and take of yourself out there in San Fransisco.
Lol
hahahahah its southwest its all economy class lol
A listers can board before the peasants? that's outrageous!
At least Li Flyer is having issues with his phone and laptop meaning he won't view this video
Where did you hear that?
