He is my favorite travel channel, too. I initially discovered his channel last year watching Southwest Airlines flights to and from Pittsburgh, but I quickly warmed up to him.
I have been in Chicago and Nashville in 2002. From Midway airport to Memphis and from Memphis to Nashville by car. Great trip, good memories. Thank you so much to share. Loved it.
I agree with you, sunset flights are out of this world and one in particular that I recall was on a Pan Am flight from Honolulu to Papeete, Tahiti and we were flying over popcorn shaped clouds above the Pacific...really neat!
Very few avgeeks would remember when BNA was a minor AA hub--I flew AA IAH-BNA-ORD years ago on a 727-200 and an MD-80. The comment about "THAT carpet" flies above my head, what is the reference? At this point, flying into BNA,I would be exhausted--your stamina is impressive, jumping on and off planes, using the CTA to cheaply connect to MDW and now this segment--hoping you catch a catnap before your final destination!
Another great video! I really like BNA's new concourse! This is the first time I've seen you use Midway. I don't know if I asked you this or not but did you know Southwest goes to ORD now?
I took the CTA from ORD to MDW in January. I was literally the only person walking into the airport from the station and the whole way I was thinking I was going the wrong way.
Chicago Midway worlds most busiest square mile airport at one point it held the title as the worlds most busiest airport and landing at Chicago Midway is a very fast one due to the short runways there
Also the landing you fly over houses then boom the airport!!! I have been to this airport making connections so many times last time I was there was in October 2019 but it has been since 2015 that I have flown Omaha to Chicago Midway even though I have flown Chicago Midway to Omaha a ton thats because going to I have been changing planes in St Louis or Dallas Love Field going to and Chicago Midway coming back especially flying to the Southeastern United States such as Atlanta, Fort Myers, Orlando, Tampa Bay, Raleigh Durham, Birmingham, and hopefully Charleston or Savannah
Taking off Chicago Midway is very unique especially heading west because you takeoff at full throttle then you level off then climb again and once again level off due to Chicago O'Hare Traffic then climb towards cruising altitude
hello, i am new to this channel. i have a question, why do spirit airlines usually has less big families or families compared to other airlines such as southwest?
TJG13 goes to college, travels to a variety of different places, engages in a diversity of different outdoor activities, and plays multiple musical instruments. Yet he still takes the time to edit wonderful videos and reply to many comments. Now that's dedication.
@@davidmalick4024 Exactly. I have met a large variety of extraordinarily talented individuals, but thejazzguy13 Aviation is talented on a whole other level.
Definitely a stressful landing at midway. Turbulent boundary layer, short runway, homes all around. But I prefer flying out of Midway than O’Hare, nowhere near as busy
It's not that they were trying to save space per se, it's that back then, there were far fewer passengers, so they didn't need big terminals, and more importantly, the airplanes were much, much lighter and had much slower landing speeds than a 737. A DC3 weighed 25,000 pounds fully loaded and landed at 75MPH. That -800 you were on can takeoff at nearly 175,000lbs and has landing speeds more than twice a DC3's. So back when MDW was built, 6,000 foot runways were unimaginably huge. The airplanes of the time were designed to land on grass fields. No one ever dreamed of modern airline jets when they were building airports back then. As airplanes got bigger and faster, most airports just extended the runways. MDW had neighborhoods grow up around it, and the politicians didn't want to use eminent domain to make room for bigger runways.
I hate the new food options at Chicago Midway ever since they changed them back in 2017 I miss Potbelly, McDonalds, etc. in there but they've kept Gold Coast Hot Dogs, and Nuts on Clark which you should try sometime when making a connection at Chicago Midway but I hate the Home Run Pizza there and I will try the BBQ restaurant by gate B18 sometime also they removed those moving walkways which I enjoy going on and they had a lot more of these at Chicago Midway
Chicagoans, are the rumors true that Southwest is going to start flying into O'Hare at some point? What will Midway's fate be? I dunno, given its smaller size, it seems more appropriate to serve as the center for domestic flights, like New York's La Guardia vs. JFK.
@Noah Shmoah So what do you think Midway's fate will be? As the main airport for the South Side and northwest Indiana? And isn't O'Hare super congested? Maybe Midway should be restricted to flights of, say, 1000 miles or less (which would still allow flights to NYC and DC).
Quickly becoming one of my very favorite travel channels

Wow, I'm here before the MS comments! Yay!
Almost an hour later, and I still don't see MS.
I'll be flying through MDW in about three weeks!!
Great job
Just wondering how much some of these flights costs?? Thanks
Amazing video! Any chance of an upcoming flight to Orlando??
Definitely need to try out Southwest next time I'm in the states, the look superior to the 'mainline' carriers
This airport was my layover flying from Dayton Ohio to Dallas/Fort Worth Texas to visit family cause i still living in Ohio at the time

I do actually...very soon 😉

MDW looks like it was crammed or squeezed in.
how was the seat social distancing?

Yup Midway is a big Southwest Station
Try flying to Savannah airport???
12:40 oh thank god! I was really worried you wouldn't get a close up shot of you pouring coke.
Haha appreciate the sarcasm :D
I have been through Midway once for a connecting flight to STL and have no intentions going back. Very disorganized airport. Almost missed my flight.

Salt lake!
Yeah MDW is a unique airport until someone has an emergency on takeoff.....no where to land except in someones living room.
Flew from Midway to Salt Lake on Southwest. Usually like Southwest but mask patrol was OBNOXIOUS..
