My Dear Mother, Phyllis passed away tonight. Thus Song brought her so much joy. She said there were no songs with her name in it. Thankyou Bryan For this Gift of a song❤
Saw this gentleman in Dawson Creek,B.C.in the spring of 1977 with my then wife to be Brenda who is still with me 44 years later. Only about 20 people attended the concert but he came out and put on an excellent show. I was disappointed for him with so few in attendance but he said I’m here and will perform. A class act.
I also am a "Phyllis" that never thought there were any songs with Phyllis in it. My daughters found this for me on my 80th BD and I have to say Bryan's voice is beautiful!!! How can I get a CD of this song?. I am in US. Also interested in more of his music.
I wish this could be added to itunes or spotify so I could add it to my playlist. My family has loved this song since...late 70s/early 80s, my dad was given his album from the man who ran the Stony Plain recording studio where the album was produced.
I can't listen to Bryan sing this without tears.. My brother Mike Hillary sang this year's ago .. his tenor baritone voice did Bryan's beautiful song proud and people loved it.. Thankyou Bryan . We lost Mike last fall.. 😢 ❤
I have had your 33 with this song on it, been enjoying it for 40 years. taking good care of the record since you are hard to find. my most favorite song is [long black veil] thanks for the joy u have given me over the years, carol
I remember hearing this on our local AM station 630 CHED out of Edmonton, Alberta. Now it's a talk station only. Wes Montgomery, who was the morning man, played this as a favour to Bryan as he was a local performer. I believe the story goes that the station manager at the time (Jerry Forbes?) told him we don't play that kind of music on this station. He kept playing it so the manager took the record and broke it. Montgomery went and bought all the copies he could find and kept playing it! Correct me if I'm wrong, but another gentleman by the name of Wes Dakus (of Wes Dakus & The Rebels fame) was the producer and co-writer of this beautiful song. Bryan had a wonderful, powerful voice. I also bought one of 45's....
