Why did Chennai win? Because they have everything with the bat and discipline with the ball. Gaikwad: takes the game deep. Du Plessis: Aggressive opener, makes sure the powerplay is used. Uthappa: Aggressor. Ali: Spin basher. Rayudu: Finisher. Dhoni: Tactical genius. Jadeja: Jadeja. Bravo: Best slower-ball bowler in the world. Thakur: Weirdly economical now. Chahar: If anyone's gonna get swing, it's him. Hazlewood; No bad balls. They have everything. You go to any other team, even MI, and they have a team full of aggressors. Sure that might work well for them (evidently), but when that fails, they have no one to fall back on. CSK have everything, the most balanced side in the league. Probably in history, barring their 2012-2013 team. I had no doubt they would win this season.

Bullshit this team has only bravo who one can really call a T20 bowler. chahar with no swing and 130 km/h pace should score 50 in every match. Jadeja doesn't have any variation when there is no spin. Even csk fan would have called it as worst bowling attack on paper. csk would have ended in last two along with rajasthan. This team has punched above their weight. It's no where close to MI on paper bumrah and Boult or earlier Malinga and bumrah there is no comparison with anyone. What they did is like winning car racing with maruti 800 where other had fortuner.

Yeah this CSK batting line-up was one of the best even better than 2018 line-up. Top 4 can destroy any team. And Jadeja is there for finish. Let's see what happens next year. Inclusion of Robin was big plus for CSK due to lack of form of Raina.

    • @tombrady5587
      @tombrady5587 3 года назад +2

Funnily enough the mega auction actually comes at a really good time for CSK. CSK built this team for really short term success. The teams like Delhi and Mumbai are the ones actually suffering more from the mega auction as they've got a handful of young players that'll only get better. CSK only probably have 3-4 players they'd really want to retain, the other players are replaceable with comparable quality. Remember that CSK won not largely because of individual brilliance (although the openers were incredible) but because they built a team that batted until 10 and still had 6 quality bowling options, which meant there was always 1-2 players that stepped up when others didn't.
CSK will probably retain Jadeja, Gaikwad and Sam Curran (Dhoni's future is in the air at the moment) and potentially Thakur, and will right to match a good few others like potentially Moeen, Chahar, Faf and Hazlewood. So the core will be similar.

Moreover, Chennai beat DC for the first time since 2019. Also after losing last 3 league matches they went on to win the cup. Could have lost the momentum, but they didn't.

the form of the players and because of leadership.
for eg. shane watson was sitting on bench for rcb
rayudu was not that impressive in mi.
mohit sharma used to be in highest wicket taker list playing for csk even won purple cap playing for them.
after leaving csk he has disappeared.

Jadeja got that mention because he used to not be an all-format, all-condition, obvious walk-in into the playing XI kind of player. His bowling has never been versatile and he has limited options, it still isn't but much improved and now he can hold even on batting friendly pitches. His batting however..., it is tough to express how improved he is now, words wouldn't do justice. Always had the talent, remember a shot on brett lee yorker, squeezed to third man from his early RR days, always felt that was a window into his talent. Anyway there could have been conditions where what he could not do mattered more than what he could, now he walks into the team even just for his batting.

Wood and Ngidi are, but Ngidi didn't play whole second half. Hazlewood not a fast bowler, more like a Boult, in that he has pace, but that's not what he is using.

What in your opinions is better t20 combination
    1. 6 proper batters and 5 front line bowlers
    2. 5 bat. 2 AR 4 BOWL
And what do you think is the reason behind the lack of fast bowling AR in indian team, and we still dont have one going in t20 WC considering Hardik might not bowl.

First time watching a video on your channel. Super happy! Wonder why it never got recommended to me so far.
Wonderful stuff, explaining why CSK almost never needs a "superstar rescue act", because they're all happy to be stars in that galaxy of not the hottest talent going around, but a galaxy that continues to shine even when some stars fade a bit.
It is that element of FUN about them, that I am so thankful you mentioned, for it is what attracts people to games - they must be FUN, and Chennai are a load of fun, as they can be unpredictable in how they do things as much as they are predictable with who they will play. But they all seem to be happy to be 'playing' the game, not suffering through the process.
Of course winning means a lot to us CSK fans, but I suspect we weep the least when our team loses, because there's plenty of fun to remember, and we know we will shake off our blues quickly to be yellow again! Yellove!
