    Add more to this weird wtc cycle:
    SL loses to pak(2-0) who loses to ban(2-0) who loses to Sa(2-0) who loses to NZ(2-0) who loses to SL(2-0) who loses to eng(2-1) who loses to ind(4-1) who loses to NZ(3-0), who is going to lose by eng(3-0) who loses to pak(2-1) who loses to aus (3-0),who drawn with wi(1-1).
    Yet, WI are at the bottom of points table.😅

    Test cricket is bizzare this year, Imagine a batter challanging Bradman for test avrage with 90+ avrage, and a bowler challange SFBarnes with sub 20 average and both might not win TPOY award.
    But this is memorable year for test cricket for sure and may be the peak of Test cricket.
    slowly hype fpr test will go down like previous eras, even though we had T20 WC this year and nothing much in ODI, test cricket has alway been the talk.

    • @8pulkit
      @8pulkit 9 часов назад +1

      No he isn’t - as good as he was in this one. There is a reason he averages around 33. Good innings are few and far between with him. In this outing, he had an opportunity to make it big just like Jaiswal but he got out for 70-odd. Once again, he scored just enough runs to dine out on for a few tests. I hope he can finally play to potential and make use of this opportunity he almost doesn’t deserve. He needs to be the hungriest bloke out there given the circumstances of his selection. There is no dearth of batsmen in India. It is unfair that they should be denied a spot in the side on account of someone who averages 33 as a top order India batsman. If India are going to squeeze 2-3 years out of an aging Rahul he had better make it worthwhile with loads of runs.

      They have the best chances of making finals than anyone else. Lol. All of their remaining matches are at home and the teams that are coming are Sri Lanka and pakistan , out of both of them only Sri lanka has the chance of beating south africa . If pakiatan and Sri lanka both or ome of them pull out an upset only in that case they won't be making finals easily. Otherwise they are going to make finals . Beating them at home is like beating australia at home . You cannot do that with half baked team and without preparing . The thing is even if they reach the final, they might mess this up again . They are never favourites to won a final . They know that,their opponent know that ,the world know that .

    Once upon a time, pace, bounce and swing was the recipe to destroy India. Over the last decade or so, India worked so much on dealing with that, they forgot how to play spin. So at some point, they will need to find 2-3 excellent players of spin if they want to turn India back into the final frontier. I mean the way India puts out teams, maybe they can work on a specialist team that plays in India, One that tours and then a t20 team. lol

May be due to T20 effect or too much cricket but we are going to see these roller-coaster performance very often.

    It’s not surprising. There’s no red ball team like 2000's Australia or SA anymore that can be considered an all conquering test side that has no prevalent issues. Every team picked players outside their usual combination according to the conditions and exploited the opponent teams glaring weakness. Australia especially are in big trouble in this series because their entire batting order has been abysmal playing the 4th stump line. And India has frontline bowlers to consistently hit that all day long.

      It's not like ICC doesn't want everyone to play everyone for 3 tests. Just that India, Aus, Eng don't care. They want to play among themselves because it generates some revenue. There is nothing unfair about the conditions that they impose upon themselves. In every WTC cycle all three will play each other, only that is a guarantee. So yeah. They made their own bed and now lie in it.
