It's those side strings. They hold a costant chord regardless of what's played and that gives hurdi gurdi that vibe of an additional instrument. Bagpipes do the same thing with those extra pipes.
This song, it feels like a distant memory, one of melancholy but a great triumph at a devastating cost, a review of the aftermath at the end of an era and the end of a civilization and that way of life. A soothing but haunting Melody.
Alright men, I have established connections who’ll get us in the king’s celebration, from there you’ll need to find the assassin before the third dance, we have no clue who this assassin is other than the snake emblem engraved on the pommel of their dagger, tread lightly lads. **Music plays as the third dance begins**
You reach into your pocket and knowingly rub the ingraving on the pommel of your concealed blade. Today is the day the king will pay for his rule of oppression and cruelty
A fire that lights in your heart an uncontrollable urge. A smirk dances across your lips as the turn rolls effortlessly from the instrument, yes... it would be no fun, it would be boring if the game were so easy.
And so, you dance along with the enchanting choir of string from the single instrument. At last, you see him, the king, The Mad Tyrant. You know not his name, and soon it shall be forgotten in time, him and his wicked deeds
For the enemy laughs silently as the men all dance along, puppets under his cruel foot. Try as they will, the power of the gods themselves could not exvail the men from the bardic trance they were captured in. They gritted their teeth, but the flow of the Pagan's Song flowed deep through them, sending their mind in it's symphonic prison. The power begins to surge through them, and it all begins to become even more vapid.

This is the very first time I'm seeing this instrument (I've probably heard it before in a movie or something because the sound sounds familiar) and I'm instantly intrigued by the engineering that went into this instrument. It seems like like the inventor had a basic idea of how the instrument should function but halfway through the person got lost in a world unlike this one but filled with visions and specters we can only guess at. The inventor stepped through a portal of some sort into a realm where she had to battle creatures of a non-physical nature and the only way to defeat them was with complex sounds. The inventor had to cobble together various instruments to achieve these complex harmonies. After defeating the spirits the inventor woke up cold from a feverish sweat only to realize that it wasn't a realm of spirits that she had entered but a realm of the mind. A realm brought forth from the deep sorrow the inventor faced after witnessing the death of her whole family to a tyrant that ruled the land as a self imposed lord. The inventor soon realized that it was in her power to either convey the deep pain and sorrow of loss upon anyone who heard this instrument or the joyful melodies of new beginnings and the infinite possibilities every new day holds. Knowing this the inventor left the instrument in a tavern for an ignorant soul to pick up because the inventor couldn't trust herself to play anything else but sorrowful music for her grief was to immense. I personally think there is a musician in each and everyone of us, maybe some of us just need to invent our own instruments or maybe we just haven't found the instrument we are meant to play. Basically music is such an essential part of being like breathing and eating and complex harmonies found in classic music is particularly good to help you get your thoughts in order and sooth your weary mind after a stressful day. Everyone reading this should find an instrument and learn how to play it. Only after you've felt the overwhelming joy creativity brings will you find the strength to overcome any obstacle and burden in your life for you see the hero in our story never actually played the instrument for fear of causing more sorrow so she stayed lost in depression and sadness but the gift of the instrument enabled someone else to express themselves in a positive way uplifting the spirits of the entire village and inspired the whole land to rise up against oppression and fear.
It was originally 2 metres long, played by two people and used as accompaniment in churches before the invention of the pipe organ. The constant droning note was favoured as it was found to be pure and desirable in the eyes of the clergy.

Awsome
Как же это приятно слушать!
Nice song
I’m curious how someone changes the strings on this
Slowly
The black piece under his left forearm flips open pretty easily. Which gives better access to the strings and key action.
@@piranhaplantX I believe one of the artists on RUclips even has this cover working as a drum!
with difficulty
Me: first you gut a cat!.....
My Cat: (Fierce gazing)
Отличная игра на колесной лире. Это восхищает.

This gives me an old-school Nostalgic wonder of Adventure that I've never experienced before.
Mesmerized. Have been listening to this melody for days... Ancestral memories? But vere are ze drums?
same for me
I dont think you need drums with this kind of talent
There is a different video of this song that includes drums and an organ I believe
buttons make same sound
Goose bumps while listening. Very beautiful.
Only thing I'm left wondering is, if this is what actual medieval music would have sounded like, or is it more like a "neo-medieval" thing?
Very nice
Such a great musician! Just amazing!
all i can think of when hearing this is me and the boys being at the local pub in the village, next to the castle, watchin the jester dancin with everyone cheerin em on
well... tavern.
Imagine the main character having a flashback in mid of a battle, all of his friends are dead, the only can save all is he, and power up + transformation start
I got inlove with that composition🥰😍
00:15 this part looks like that Interestelar movie music.
just seeing how it works makes it so much more appetizing
Rather haunting for a dance isn't it? It has stuck in my head since I first heard it...Excellent performance!
*Reverse* Dance - maybe it should have been *Inverse* Dance... But both give the impression it's not just a dance.
Дивовижно)
It's like the whole Orchestra in your fingertips.. that the unknown feeling you guys get when listening to it.. because few instruments can match it's sound..
I love strong stringed instruments and this one fascinated me.
That is beautiful ^^
Marvelous instrument!
Спасибо Андрей! Отличный трек. Мне напомнил Ведьмака!

Как называется этот музыкальный инструмент?
Brings back memories
From Monty Python: "Bring out your dead! Bring out your dead!"
Thinking same thing 😂
"I'm not dead yet"
what a story this single musician and instrument is expressing, i have never heard such a thing from one performer without vocals.
If you close your eyes, you can barely see a Medieval RPG Start Screen
