As you yourself have pointed out, this is a “different instrument” because you are able to do things with it that are not possible on a traditional hurdy-gurdy. YOU ARE A PIONEER, and you are fearlessly exploring new gurdy territory in a unique and totally wonderful way.
While I love the traditional gurdy repertoire, if the instrument is to make it into the 21st century as anything other than a curious relic of the past it must adapt, like the guitar and the keyboard, to the world of electronics. I think what you are doing is magnificent! I am familiar with the peripheral equipment you are using, and it requires a degree of dexterity and virtuosity that rivals what is needed just to play the gurdy. You appear to have mastered both.
The problem with being a pioneer is that it is a lonely and often thankless existence.

I never thought anyone would make such a blasphemous beauty with this instrument. I just discovered this instrument yesterday and thought it was pretty cool and all but would mostly only be used to play classical and medieval stuff. You shattered that perspective

@@riftmanhun5243 You can buy a nerdy gurdy kit for $400 or something, which isn't very expensive as instruments go. However, there's a bit of a wait list, as it's just one guy making them (albeit, with a 3-D printer). Also, he lives in The Netherlands, so if you live outside the EU, you'll have to pay international shipping fees. There's a website for it if you want to look into it. Just Google "nerdy gurdy kit."

This is permanently my most favorited Song i have ever heard since its a really calming and soothing song with an instrument that is rarely seen by the public to know the possibilities of this thing and plus having an amazing artist of the music trade play this complete mystical music i have heard in ages. It legit makes you feel like you slowly ascend out of the normal plain and into a abstract reality. The more you listen to it the more it opens your mind. You my good sir deserve better praise than the 2.5mil views, you my good man should be praised for your hard work.
