Thanks Randy, for digging so deep into the archives and making the interesting comparison to Hive strategy nowadays. As you mentioned a missed win by White, I was stunned when I instantly spotted my missed win as Black at move 33. Later, it turned out you actually meant exactly that. :-) In my defense, I blame extreme tournament nervousness for my capital oversight. :-p It shouldn't happen, but it simply does - hence why I always preach to never resign prematurely no matter how hopeless the situation looks. Fighting things out until the bitter end helped me to become a better player. There's always the chance that even a game win in one move is overlooked...especially under time pressure. Can't wait to see your and Joe's new books getting revealed this year!

Very cool. I looked back at some older games as well and I feel like people generally had a much worse understanding of tempo back then, which led to a lot of crazy back and forth games
In general, we have learned a lot.
