No joke, I play most of my “Watch Later” list at 1.5x speed because I have a lot of new videos to watch all the time 😅 but I ONLY play yours at normal speed to make the most of every video creation of yours 🥰 thank you for sharing your life with us x
You're my soulmate. I've videos on watch later from 2021 but I've nothing pending from Allison's because of how cozy and required her videos feel to my life!
Oh my god Ally I GASPED when you held up the Wind in the Willows! You are in for the most charming, heartwarming, slow, cozy children's classic you could imagine!!! I hope you enjoy it!!
i just found your channel and i am so so so glad i did. as a fellow autistic chronically ill person it’s so nice to find people with common life experiences and your videos are absolutely wonderful! thank you so much for sharing with us 💖
The Wind in the Willows is EXACTLY your alley! I grew up watching the TV movie at my grandparents house 😊 hope you get to it soon because I’d love to see your thoughts on it!
You had me laughing during your tattoo experience. My late husband always said, "You know you married a good woman when she has a good sense of humor about gas." He would follow up with, "I married a great woman." ❤ We love you & you're amazing!
i have autism too! have been working with the Open University! i struggled with school attendance but LOVED learning so i get you - it’s not my first choice degree but it helps me to feel a little more accomplish!! I’m sure you’ve checked it out but it has been a good option for me! love you loads and i’m sure you’ll figure out your path soon x
I’m amazed you haven’t come across wind in the willows before now, but I think it’s quite a British classic so not that strange really 😅 Hope you enjoy it! Thank you so much for your videos, they help me so much!
Migraines are the worse!!! And I hate when I’m enjoying my life and then BAM! No vision, vertigo, and migraine. I hope you’re feeling better now, I always love watching you vids on a Sunday, such a vibe!
Yay to you coming back, yay to Brazilian coffee (as a Brazilian, I can confirm it is the best 😁), yay to this amazing vlog, yay to you inspiring me to overcome my ridiculous prejudice about self-help books as if they are all the same. Thank you for being you and brightening up my Sundays!
OMIGOODNESS so cool to see the brene brown appreciation!!! her TED Talks are also fabulous, and it's been years but back in the very much depression days i was also very comforted and encouraged by her book Daring Greatly.
Love you, Allie ❤ Another self help book I HIGHLY recommend is How to Keep House While Drowning. Even if cleaning isn’t something you struggle with, I think the mindset she teaches can be applied to many aspects of life.
I just read a room of one’s own and found it quite good! Especially for having been published a century ago. I’m gonna be honest, I read it a little fast so I’ve forgotten the finer details, but the overarching themes were very interesting and concerningly relatable to the modern day, I hope you enjoy it too!
love ur new love for starting meditation!! i have been using headspace on and off since 2016 and it is so nice to have a moment to take a BREATH. it doesn't fix everything but it is a wonderful small skill to have in ur pocket for emergencies, hope you find as much joy in it as i have
I recently had someone tell me that I could just look up course syllabus' online and read/do everything myself and it kinda blew my mind, so I hope it helps you too! (I've been learning about ~science~)
I’ve taken a bit of a break from RUclips for the past few months and now, 7 minutes into this video, I can’t believe I have allowed myself to be deprived of such joy for so long. Thank you for the giggles.
I just discovered your channel and I love it so much! Your vlogs are so funny and I enjoy your book reviews! I wanted to share that I was late diagnosed autism too, and the things you say about higher education are the exact struggles I've been going through, almost word-for-word the same thoughts. More than anything, it's like you say, it just feels like it's difficult to find a place that'll give you a real chance, because it's not for lack of passion in the subject or education, just the opportunity to learn, and I hope that knowing there are others out there going through the same thing makes you feel less alone in that, as your video has done for me
I read the book "Tazmamart" by A. Binebine, also about Moroccan military prison - it makes you want to gag. It's not for the faint-hearted, so just be careful with "Punishment". I am currently reading " to the lighthouse," and I wish my copy were as beautiful as yours ❤!
This is such a fun video! I highly (HIGHLY) recommend Braving the Wilderness and Daring Greatly by Brene Brown. Her books get better and better the more she learns. Gifts of Imperfection was her first book.
I really enjoy Brené Brown's Work! Daring Greatly is one of the few books that made its way to my university city so that I could have it on hand, because it goes over lessons that I dearly need to learn.
i have the little prince in the same edition as that woolf and i adore it also so happy to see the wind in the willows here! to me it's like frog and toad for slightly older readers and with more chaos. it's so fun :)
I've lived with migraine for years but I'm in a particularly bad flare at the moment with an attack most days. It is so soothing and reassuring to me to see you living your best cosy life around migraine. Your vlogs are my fave ❤️
I feel awful too! I threw up 3 times last night. Had back pain and a runny nose. I just had organic butternut squash soup with cinnamon and crackers. Now i have a headache!!!
midterms season in college is upon me and there's a lot of things to do and process and I've been feeling very overwhelmed, which is why I protect my "sit and watch the new video" Sunday routine SO much (also my new sweater arrived and it's got DUCKS on it)
Great chair! Most of my furniture was passed down from my mom or thrifted. I love the idea of reusing items for as long as possible, to decrease landfill waste.
I have that EXACT green chair + plus ottoman from IKEA. I bought it about 2 years ago and it was not that expensive back then. Is this inflation?! I’m stunned.
Ally, I feel like with your affinity for books with older characters you would appreciate The Faster I Walk, The Smaller I Am by Kjersti Skomsvold, which I described to my boss as "existential silliness" which feels up your alley haha
This video itself felt like a cup of something warm and cozy 🧡☕️ I had a really scary big exam this week and now that it's over I'm trying to gather myself again, and I love how your videos remind me to be kind and gentle with myself. And your thoughts on the gifts of imperfection are just what i needed to decide to pick it up. Thank you Alli 💕
I understand wanting to go to school so badly. I was able to get my bachelors degree , I worked really hard and saved up a lot to be able to study in a different country. Then covid started and I spent more nearly two academic years at home. It feels like I dont even have a degree and there is nothing I can do about it. I dont have money to do masters rn which makes me feel even more miserable. Hopefully in the future you can find a university that isnt expensive and you have a great experience with it
i don’t normally recommend self-help books but when you mentioned doing quizzes and homework with Daring Greatly it reminded me so much of Super You by Emily V Gordon! she’s a former therapist with chronic illness (her and kumail nanjiani’s relationship is the basis for the movie The Big Sick if you’ve seen it) aaaand i just love her. such a great book imo
I am so shocked you’ve never heard of the wind in the willows. I actually attempted to read that book about a year ago because one of my best friends collects all the editions he can find and absolutely loves it but I had a really hard time making progress. I’ve promised myself I’d try again some day. I’m interested to see what you end up thinking of it!
I was in a kinda similar situation where I didn't finish my bachelor's cause I picked a private college and it was just too expensive for me to finish. I struggle with getting overwhelmed and anxiety in general, so it took me a long time to get back into college and finish my degree, I finally finished it last spring. I am happy I graduated cause it was a goal I had for such a long time, and I also love learning and school in general like you, but with the economy being sucky it hasn't really improved my quality of life at all. I guess this is just me saying a degree isn't everything, but I totally understand why you want one and I hope you are able to achieve your goal soon :)
Happy to have you back and glad that you were able to take time for yourself! I cheered aloud when i saw the thrift wins! We love a good win after a hard day!! ❤
Hi Allison, sending you well wishes for a speedy recovery with your health. I really do feel you on loving learning but struggling to complete a degree due to health and autism related overwhelm. Have you looked at the open university? they have flexible options to pay in installments and complete 60 credit modules at a time on a part time basis. they even have free resources such as their open learn courses that scratch that learning itch. wishing you all the good and positivity for the future whichever path you take!
I cannot believe you've never heard of wind in the willows!! I would have bet actual money on that being an ally favourite :D several years ago there was an exhibition in the story museum in oxford where they recreated rooms from famous childrens books and one of the ones they did was badgers room, I remember it being just the cosiest cutset thing ever 🥺
HAVING ENRICHMENT TIME IN MY ENCLOSURE EATING APPY SLICES WITH PEANUT BUTTER WATCHING THIS VIDEO I JIST GOT HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL BUT THE INTRO ALWAYS GIVES ME A SEROTONIN DANCE BREAK 🕺🏻🕺🏻 i also had a terrible week i missed you and am so glad you’re back !!!!
the long video this week was so nice! watching you makes me want to put my own addictive rectangle down and do things for myself. as someone waiting on college decisions, hearing you talk about school and gratitude no matter what was reassuring. i hope your next few weeks are better than the last ones.
These videos are always a special treat for me. I savior these and wait for the right time during the week when I get to be cozy and drink from my Kermit mug
I got a huge stag's head chest-piece this past summer, and my GOD was I not ready. Can confirm that the non-kimchi-ified experience is also horrific. That mamajama was orders of magnitude more painful than anything I've gotten before.
i love adding noodles to my miso soup! i'm just a sucker for a good noodle. i usually go with soba but i like the idea of udon. might try that next time. happy to have you back and glad you're feeling better 🥰🥰i know what you mean about school, if i was wealthy the two things i would do for myself is travel and go to school just for fun.
Your new tattoo looks amazing! Thank you for reviewing "The Gifts of Imperfection" , I was curious about it and will definetely pick it up - spring seems like particularly good time to read a self help book. Your vlogs are lovely and bring me so much joy ❤(although "honey you have a big storm coming" is always making me anxious haha)

I don't know about where everyone else is from but the wind and the willows is considered a 'classic' in England. You read/watch it when you are a child.
Hi, I really enjoying your video, it is always cozy time of the week. I just wanted to recommend to you one book. Otherlands by Thomas Halliday. It is slower book about how the earth looked like before, and every chapter will take you even further into the past. It is from paleontologist.
I absolutely adore you ally, thank you so much for making such comforting videos ❤ the start of my week is always extra tough, but this is exactly what I needed to get me moving this morning

Nothing hits like an Ally vlog. Pure comfort love it
All of your videos (this one in particular) 10 outta 10. I was dying laughing at the tattoo story. Also that Lizzie McGuire shirt is ICONIC
The Wind in the Willows is EXACTLY your alley! I grew up watching the TV movie at my grandparents house 😊 hope you get to it soon because I’d love to see your thoughts on it!

This woman is one of the most inspiring people here on booktube 🖤✨ I appreciate you so much!

A little commotion for the chaiiirrr once again!
Love you, Allie ❤ Another self help book I HIGHLY recommend is How to Keep House While Drowning. Even if cleaning isn’t something you struggle with, I think the mindset she teaches can be applied to many aspects of life.
Ally, you are absolutely the most consistently joyful part of my Sundays. Thank you for your videos!
I just read a room of one’s own and found it quite good! Especially for having been published a century ago. Turning this on so I can survive the mind numbing work I have to do for the next 20 minutes, Ally is such a calming presence!
midterms season in college is upon me and there's a lot of things to do and process and I've been feeling very overwhelmed, which is why I protect my "sit and watch the new video" Sunday routine SO much (also my new sweater arrived and it's got DUCKS on it)

Great vlog I recovered from a 3 day cold last week.📚☕❄️
I have that EXACT green chair + plus ottoman from IKEA. I bought it about 2 years ago and it was not that expensive back then. Is this inflation?! I’m stunned.
Oh my god, I haven't thought about The Wind in the Willows in like 2 decades. Core memory unlocked!
Ally, I feel like with your affinity for books with older characters you would appreciate The Faster I Walk, The Smaller I Am by Kjersti Skomsvold, which I described to my boss as "existential silliness" which feels up your alley haha
omg the wind in the willows was my fav growing up! there used to be a cartoon on PBS i think? very cute
lol I also have ibs and a love of kimchi. The absolute war in my guts sometimes at work, it takes my all to make sure I maintain my dignity at work.
6:03 Yes I have different head problems to go along with my IBS but mine are anxiety and depression shaped - lucky us! 😅😂
Happy to have you back! 🌸

I don't know about where everyone else is from but the wind and the willows is considered a 'classic' in England. You read/watch it when you are a child.
Sending love and thank you for the lovely videos!!!!!!!! ❤️❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I've had such a rough week so this video after my first class this year was such a treat
