- I go for the first ride on my 1983 Suzuki xn85 turbo. It took me a while to get used to riding it, but when the turbo kicked in, it flew.
Thanks for watching and subscribing!

Turbo is running whenever the bike is running , it's spins from the exhaust pressure. When the exhaust pressure increases from throttle rpm, it's spins the turbo faster and then the motor accelerates faster and exhaust pressure increases. It's a continuous synergy but it can be slow when there's not enough exhaust pressure, and they can spike up really quickly on some setups.
I watch all your vids. I am older than both of you. I truly am happy to say I love all your videos. You are informational you have knowledge on alot of different things and you have made a huge fan base happy with all the races. Thank you for your hard work the money you spend and make. Great video here. Remember safety first and gear up. Street is not dirt. Road rash is a evil thing. Stay safe and keep em coming thanks
Andrew Place thanks a lot man!
Of coarse. You guys put alot of work into what you do. Thank you both keep it up!!!!!
Chuck was salty at the end that's why he walked off lol
Got one im working on my dad rode it more before he past. He loved the bike watch out for voltage regulators crapping out and the governor spring those are comon issues. Glad to see more on the road great bike keep it up
red line every gear is what it wants but with gloves jacket and pants on dude dont spend the summer in hospital it just starting
Steve's Auto N Truck's yeah it was risky enough in shorts and a t-shirt.
Great bike... Purchased one new in 83 in south Florida. Blast riding in Lauderdale during spring break. Enjoy!
For street bikes u have to rev the gears out lol they rev out long that’s y the turbo kicks in at 5000 rpms lol
I love Suzukis. Have a 98 Katana 600 that I just tuned up for this season, thing is pulling hard.
The first video a watched of u was the video of n duke 650cc top speed I'm watching all ur videos big fan btw love ur videos
Hmm it’s sad to see you don’t know how Turbos work :(
no turbo ever kicked in in this vid.
Yeah this guy does not belong anywhere near a motorcycle lol.
It takes TIME & lots of miles to get a real 'feel' & get to truly 'know' how these old factory turbo-bikes work. Put a few miles on same-year Suzuki GS-650 & then get on the XN-85, and you'll have a better-understanding of what Suzuki had in mind, when they took a chance & marketed these rare-machines.
このバイクのブーストが掛かり始めるのは4000回転過ぎからです。
左手首の下辺りにアイドリングインジケーター🟢が有ります。(🟢光っている時は「無過給」状態です。)
Cool bike for sure but in order to experience the turbos full potential you need to run that thing at Redline
New sub from the UK - Liking your channel ! Cheers mate
Good video as usual bro we want some more wooden bike videos i have faith u can make it work u can do anything you put your mind too
Bike looks amazing
"I'm wearing shorts probably not the best thing in the world"
*Turns around and pins it*
What a machine dude!!!
thats a fucking badass bike. you really should keep this one
Me and all my friends had bikes in the mid 80s and my best friend had a 85 Suzuki XN85 and it was a gutless 650cc till the turbo came on but if you could keep the boost bars up on the electronic instrumentation and keep the turbo on full boost, it was capable of (sorta) keeping up with Honda 750 Interceptors (I had an 84 750 Interceptor) and Kawasaki GPZ 750s but didn't have the top end power. The XN85 topped out around 220 kph and my 84 Honda VF750F Interceptor topped out at 245 kph. But the XN85 was fun to ride and handled pretty well cause of the 16" front wheel and 17" rear wheel. The biggest problem with all those turbo bikes (another friend had a 1983 Yamaha XJ650 turbo) from the 80s was they all ended up blowing the baffles outta the exhaust pipes. Too much back pressure. I was on the highway behind my buddy on his XN85 and saw him blow his baffle outta his exhaust and it ended up in the grill of a van behind us. Barely missed killing me as it flew past me. Same thing happened to buddy's Yamaha XJ650 Turbo. Blew the baffle on the highway. And all those turbo bikes died premature deaths. That's why they're soooo rare now compared to other sport bikes from the same era. I liked the drop handlebars, similar to the Suzuki Katana bars. I had an 83 Suzuki 1100 Katana in 88. Loved that bike. 19" front wheel and 17" rear wheel so it was rock solid steady on the highway compared to the 16" front wheels on the Interceptors and XN85 but not very nimble in the city or in short fast turns. But I digress. This video brought back memories of watching the boost bars on the turbo guage to keep up the power or it just became a gutless 650 log. Lol. Ahhh, the memories. All my friends had the latest state of the art bikes in those days and the fastest I ever went was 265 kph on the QEW (in Toronto) on my buddy's 1986 Yamaha FJ1200, when you could still get away with riding that fast on Ontario highways, before the police got helicopters. Never got caught even though we got chased, a lot! Cops couldn't keep up back then. Running from the cops was a game for us. We were 20-22. Young, wild and crazy. In 85 when the Suzuki GSXR came out it changed the game and started the superbike era. God, I miss those days. So much fun. Eventually we wised up and took it to the track (Shannonville) after getting our race licenses but we had a blast on the streets and highways before that. Kinda surprised that turbo bikes haven't made a comeback considering how far turbo technology has come since the early 80s. Turbo cars are back, so where's the new turbo bikes? Anyway, thanks for the video and bringing back my old memories of turbo bikes from "the good old days". Cheers. 🍻
Nice video dude i liked it.
Man that is a fast bike!!! Dammm bro
love the bike
Wet sand the wind shield to around 2000 grit to clean it
If you can, get Micro Mesh and go as high as you can in the grit's. I know it's not cheap and you have to go in steps but it's the best.
That's the first time I ever seen you show your face in any video when you was first getting ready to ride the bike
when you're riding a powerful sport bike, use your inner thighs to hold you and grip the tank. Use your hands as light guides and your body weight and legs for leaning into turns.
Awesome video
You must must get the boost on and off just right when negotiating a corner that has an exit of some length.
Take it to a race track and find out what this bike can really do.
The rear suspension shock absorber and the remote adjuster is probably tired after thirty years of use.
Set up the Anti-dive forks correctly and get quality brake pads on the front discs as those pads are likely tired and the discs glazed. Please wear a leather suit over your body at the track.
XN85 "rider" 1983 - 1986.
Enjoy this bike as it is one of a kind and "ride" within your perceived ability.
Also worth mentioning to not run it hard when the fuel (gas) level is low. Run quality gas in it. Replace the fuel filter asap. cheers.
Professor Pat Pending take the dinosaur to a race track?? It wouldn't stand a chance not to mention this dudes not skilled enough it would be a hazard on track
Dean Robertello. give the kid a break. you are lucky to see what few have from a time passed. why not ask him if he will let you give it a few laps on the track. it might change your perception.
there's an old saying that empty vessels make the most noise.
Yooo that thing is dope
Hey 2vintage would you consider on buying a Yamaha banshee💪🏻🤞🏻
Great vid
sounds like it's running on 3cylinders,engine running rough, I love the look of the bike
Yeah, your right. I had the same problem with my Xn. Turned out being a bad fuel injector.
Get those revs up!
dang so that's what warp 9 looks like
Dang this things fast too!!.. DANG!!! You wanna ride on here with me?!?!
You’re not even close to revving that to what it’s supposed to be revved at
dan gardner well pretty close
Get it to 12k and you’ll feel the power then
dan gardner yeah I will when I have better gear on
2vintage. ps don't do the 12k revs as that dude suggests.
@@professorpatpending8731 thanks someone else knows this thing will grenade past 10k. I've only raced 66 big bore kawasaki and suzukis and turbos in past 30 years
So does the turbo worked like what a Variable Valve Actuation Timing thingy works now..........I mean the change in the character of the bike according to the way the person revs it........
Respect from serbia dude you are awesome 😉💗
deja Telep thanks!
Same here!!
cool vid
Dude same smudge on your action camera's lense its been there for atleast 3 videos ive seen haha
Where do you get the money to buy all of these bikes and stuff I really want to start doing this sort of stuff aswell
Look at the turbo kick in bois
Solid bike
Chuck was not amused at all. You should at least have some gloves on... full squid mode for sure. But totally awesome find super coooool
Love turbo bikes.
I hope you kept this....
nice to see that your skin would offer the best protection against gravel rash
Its nice and fast you should keep it
Awesome. Just the word Turbo sounds awesome! But you really should have a coat and gloves on man. One problem you do not wanna be on gravel with bare skin.
Rebuild the turbo that things probably been untouched since it rolled off the factory line
Damm, it looked like u were flying!
Hey does chuk still do band I play trumpet 6th grade love videos
I kinda wanna get a bike like this 😂
Careful on those old tires
Turbos are always going, you have to build boost pressure via RPM's man.. Very surprised you didn't know this. Colder air = better power too.. #boostweather
Had on of these 30 years back. Wis I kept it, my brother destroyed it
That turbo probably has really bad turbo lag
Your shifting way to soon man like damn let her rev up and those bikes are not that fast there is a reason thay didnt make then long cuz bikes with out a turbo and lighter are much quicker but that said it a realy cool bike and i nice shape bud put on some gear next time tho u lay it down with shorts and a tee shirt u will have some nice free tattoos !!!
the xn85 was actually a pretty tame bike, despite the turbo. Very cool bike though. If you think this is fast , don't ride a modern liter bike .
It’s called turbo lag. A large turbo takes longer to spool. Higher rpm and more throttle should do it.
nice video I reckon chuck could ride it better though you can tell he has more natural ability and talent on motorbikes maybe you should stick to push bikes ???
Man I hope you guys get your hands on a Kawasaki 750 turbo one day or a peugot jetforce ohohoh😵😵😵😵
Oh yeaa
Nice, now gotta make that $$$ You should try quads, there's a market
Fast!
It's called rev it to redline!
When will y’all do the race between the Honda cr 250 and the husky cr250
Keep it
I Have THE Same BIKE NON TURBO, JUST A 79 SUZUKI GS 850, CHECK The ENGINE COMPRESSION, SHOULD BE BETWEEN 155 P.S.I AND 165 P.S.I ALL CYCLDERS, IS IDEAL FOR EVERYTHING TO WORK PROPERTY, YOUR BIKE SHOULD BE FASTER than MINE??
Did you see the tach go all the way to zero a couple of times on the last run?
RalphTheDog #1 yeah it was acting a little wierd
It's a street bike man why are you shifting at 6 and 8 grand? Maybe do some research on the machines you buy cause very rarely will you let any bike you ride rev to its full potential. You think it's fast now why not shift at 11-12 grand where the bike is making all its power. Just some advice from someone who's husband has been riding and working on bikes his whole life. Let it rev that's what there meant to do! Keep up the videos!
This bike is not a boosted kawasaki turbo 11-12k will blow it up
Your only running on 3 cylinders. The turbo kicks in @ 3900rpm. That was the benefit of that bike, you don’t have2 downshift to pass someone on freeway. Just roll on, factory boost max is 9.3psi
open it up man
Very rare
I think we all tryna see the top speed run on this 😂
139 down hill is what mine would hit.
where’s the wood bike at
t_parker 1 2 weeks from now there will be a new vid on it
cool
2vintage why not sooner bro
Had one and the turbo kicked in åt 4000 rpm
Lookin good guys 🤙 PS: take her to redline. She'll love it.
One part on the video you were going so fast I thought video was being sped up a
yea man you let off the throttle everytime to early ,your switching right when the turbo kicks...in 1 gear wind that bitch out like damn 2 stroke and dont be scared
The suzukis and Yamahas had a much lower boost. Not all turbo bikes are the same.
Why are you pinning it and your Rpms are so low
Charlie just walks off while your talking...
It's fast but it sounds like a moped😂
Not as fast as the gpz 750 turbo but faster then the honda slops you should be shifting at 8500 rpm to get it to move like a mild gs1100
Damn u short shifting...
Take it to the dragstrip and give us an ET and MPH
Magazine tested a new one with Pee Wee Gleason on board 1320’ trap time was 11.99. My frame #167 or 169.. can’t remember exactly. Had a top speed of 135, even though I hit 139 once. The 9.3 psi. Didn’t lag as bad as the RUclips’s say.
not bad for a 650cc
Jeff Ferguson. 673cc.
You spelled watching wrong. Other than that it looks like the bike would put up a fight with a 450?
That man JB lol yeah I was typing fast
2vintage. Its amazing how the armchair experts emerge. High chance they've never ridden this bike as some of themmore than likely not even born then. You are lucky to have it. Its value will increase as time passes. 👍
Uh it’s going to take more RPMs than that. Give her the beans. If you think 85 hp is fast you need to try 180-200 hp. Don’t worry it’s only an additional 100 hp.
Do you have a web site with your bikes for sale?
Military Museum no but you can message me on Instagram 2_vintage_
Turbo engine with redline at 11k.
*changes gear at 5k*...
Fail :P. hehe.
Looks like an awesome bike tho :).
Turbos don't kick in till high RPM, even on cars. If you want low end you get a super charger
I assume 85 means 850cc not 85cc
Omg
rev it till like 10-12 when testing the speed lol
Lol
Lol "handles soo well" as hes driving in a straight line. Cool bike but you need to rev it a little more your shifting way to early...the turbo barely even kicked in.
is it 85 cc ??????
ContinuousVlogs yes
My 82 gsx400f revs to 11000 then change gear lol
What is the cc?
HarryARTIST52 HiGENE. 673cc
Stop shifting so soon let it kick it bud!
You should ride a real sport bike & see what power feels like. My Busa would make you never want to ride a bike again or my ZX 10R. My Busa has close to 9k into work & my ZX 10R is around 7k in work.
