Dr. Lori, I discovered your site this week and just devouring everything you say. I have just started posting some estate jewelry for a friend and your teaching is invaluable. I've sorted by signature and just sold a gorgeous Ciner basketweave choker, bracelet and earrings for $250!! I had posted it for $325, but took the offer because it was Christmas week. The buyer was thrilled and so was I.
Glad you are happy but you sold a Ciner set too low... I don't want you to feel bad about it but it is important to know the market value when you are a seller.
I love the outfit color, the embellished sweater and jewelry you wore for this video. The bling was fantastic and the nail polish was 10+++. I love listening to all your knowledge that you share.

Ugh! My father was a jeweler…47th St Jewelry district in NYC. He taught me to turn my nose up at “yellow diamonds.” When I saw ads for “chocolate diamonds,” I almost gagged!
I was told the same thing, meanwhile.., my engagement ring is a yellow pear. Go figure. 😃

I clean at condos and a lot of times people give me pieces of furniture or clothing one time this Lady gave me a end table and I got it down to my car and put it in and when I was putting it in I heard something rattling it was a box just like a old sewing box I opened it up there were two canary diamonds and these were not fake I looked at them and several other pieces of heirloom jewelry I brought it back up to the lady and I said have you been looking for something lately and she said no not that I can think of and I said nothing that you can think of and she said no she was elder and I popped it around for my back and said you mean you haven't been looking for this and she was so excited She says oh my gosh yes I have I thought I'd lost it I said well it was in the bottom of the end table it was such a good feeling to find something that someone had thought they'd lost and then have it returned.

ABSOLUTELY sit down to clean jewelry. I was cleaning a pair of vintage Eisenberg crystal earrings, dropped one in the sink and broke a crystal. Yes, I cried. 😭

My question was about cameos; if you can tell the cameo is real carved shell but the metal is unmarked, is that worth picking up or do you hold out for real gold or silver? Gold filled?
