- A short hour long let's play for Clue: Murder at Boddy Mansion, a wonderful little game released in the ancient past of 1998.
I think pretty much everyone knows the story and how to play. Mr. Boddy invites all these chucklefucks to his manor and sometime during the night one of them ends up murdering him for reasons that aren't important. It's your job as one of these characters to continuously yell at everyone and accuse them until you figure out who committed the murder, with what weapon they did it with and in which room the crime occurred.
This version of the classic board game has some incredible music, a creepy atmosphere (mostly due to the very unnerving 'suggestion' scenes you get) and is a very fun way to kill an hour or two even today. Sit back, grab a fancy drink and enjoy!
I honestly don't think anyone actually owns this game anymore but Hasbro holds the copyright to the board game so I'll say rights belong to them I guess.

Man, this game was TERRIFYING when I was a kid. I can't remember if it was the narrator or the death scenes that scared me more.
The death scenes are definitely very intense haha. I'm actually shocked they allowed this game to be included in cereal boxes back in the day because surely some parents would have complained

The intro alone made me scared to sleep on windy and stormy nights
I always chose Mrs Peacock, initially because blue is my favorite color, but she had an advantage at the beginning of the game because she could get to the nearest room in one fewer spaces than everyone else
As a kid I had no idea what clue was or what I was doing in this game, but I remember it and that counts for something!
I use to play this game so much when I was in elementary school. My mom loves this game and showed it to me, knowing I've never played the board game or seen the movie. The graphics, music and mansion were iconic and still are! This version ruined any other versions for me lol

Wow didn't know it became hard to get the game. It used to be gifted in bags of cereals decades ago.
Yeah when I made this video there was literally two for sale on ebay and they were both around $80 with shipping. Now there does appear to be a few more for sale and significantly cheaper but still not that many.
My only thought is that most people got the game as kids in the cereal boxes like you mentioned so they never had a hard physical case to put the game in, leading to most of the CDs becoming destroyed and unplayable over the years. It's the one advantage cartridge games have over disk ones, they tend to survive better and can take more punishment.

I still have my version from the cereal box lol. I believe it was Cinnamon toast Crunch that I got it from and also have my Roller Coaster Tycoon from one of the GM cereals too just forgot which one.

I used to own this game. I played it all the time but it eventually got damaged especially since it came from a cereal box and all that they gave u as a way to store it was a small paper packet and my parents didn’t think to buy a cd case for it 😢
Yeah unfortunately I think that's been the fate of many copies of this game. Hard covers are a must

There hasn't been a good interactive clue game made in years. This looked really good though. Got the ambience of the game right. The recent tablet and phone versions are ok but could have been alot better

Thats the site I used. There's a 1998 version and a 2006 version thats supposed to work better with newer computers. Even then I had to run the game in compatability mode running Windows ME. You can give it a shot but no guarantee it works for you.

Where did download this game? Did you get on steam or something? Or do you have the disk still?
Unfortunately the only way I could find to get this game nowadays is downloading it illegally online. That or pay like $80 for a physical copy that isn't even guaranteed to work on newer machines.
I do still have my old disk but didn't even bother to try as I'm sure a game that old would have so many compatibility issues it would be unplayable.
I found a version of the game that had supposedly been altered to work with newer machines but even then it was a really finicky bitch to get running properly.
I'd definitely be on board for a remaster of this game.
