Very passionate person with great videos about saltwater aquariums and in Spanish!
It seems you spent a lot of time defending your technique to trolls. Dont worry about other people, if your results are working then you have established a working trend and perhaps a new industry standard. Keep up the good work. I love learning about the breeding process of clowns as I am a new reef keeper.
Dave S I really appreciate the kind words
great job on the video, very well described and a lot of details... easy to follow
Thanks for the video and shoutout!
Hey Luis, thanks for the video. Very educational.
Boosting for the algorithm 🙌 Love your work, keep it up! 🌻🐝
Mentioned you in another video lol. Tonight I moved the eggs to their own tank. I hope the hatch tonight! Thanks for your help! I've watched your videos like 10 times already lol.
AcuaTV haha that's great to hear! Appreciate the mention. I wish you the best of luck. Send me a PM if you need any other help. We can exchange info
Thanks for the video
I had no idea that you were doing a voice-over. Even after you mentioned it, I was still a bit confused haha. Thanks for the amazing video! My clowns have really started to show signs of breeding behavior and I'm getting excited.
CloudeeDragon great! I hope your clowns lay soon!
siiii esta chido el video
You probably spent at least 8 minutes in this video just talking about moving the tile lol
Adamsapple lol sorry, I don't go off a script so I just go off the top of my head
this two has the pattern exactly i am looking for
love your channel
Edwin Hurtado thank you for your kind words :)
Great vid
Nice u inspire me
David Tarbuan thanks! It's my pleasure :)
Amazing! I see your other tanks at the top are fully covered with black paper. Do they have to grow like that?
Hey man am trying to start breeding my clowns thanks for the info
No problem
I like it
Subbed brother. Doing my research on breeding clowns and this video is very helpful
prolificbreed awesome! Glad I could help
Josss
Hey wondering if you could give me some advice on breeding clowns iv got 2 Mars systems actually I have 3 but only 2 are up an running but I had some Maroons lay but don't know when they did when I found them Wednesday they was orange now there dark silverish orange I no between 8 to 10 days if I was to take them out now with a air stone for movement do you thank it would be fine im still on trill an error but I don't want to lose these thank you hope you can replay to help
Can I keep a full grown pair that I intend to breed in a 10 gallon tank? I see you keep 3 pair in a 20 long. Is that where they permanently stay?
Hey bro how do u know they r paired and how u know male female,so u have them pair in that small 5 gallon all the time? With that tiles?
Really nice, mine did not hatch all, less then a half but, I think I was too careful, and flow was not enough, will try next time, I got only 10 fishes left alive, that’s my first attempt.. hope will be better next time
How’d you do?
Great video I like you're setup. I'm about to start trying to breed clownfish. They have laid eggs but I'm not ready for the fry so I will have to let this first batch go unfortunately. But I'm wondering after they hatch when do you add food? I assume rotifers and phytoplankton? Also do you have any filtration on your fry tank or do you just do water changes?
Thank you!
77blacktrip for fry tank it’s only air bubbles. Then I do small water changes every other day. As far as food for the first week or so is life Rotifers
Hey luis perez nice video one question when you remove the eggs to a separate tank that second tank how it needs to be
Water heater?
Does it need a filter ?
What is the stuff that that tank needs to be successful with the eggs?
Thank you for youre time!
Rogelio Naranjo I usually just have an air stone and a heater. I have a video of what happens when you have a removable object
Size of one chamber for one pair?
After you put the tiles to the hatch tank, u bubbling them right? How much the bubble flow it fast or slow bubble....? I had a pair that spawning all the years... but can save 100% eggs...
it make me strees out
David Tarbuan Yes, I make sure the air stone is under the eggs and get a nice current blowing against them. No, I do not put the bubbles to a high but a nice amount to let the eggs move with the bubbles
Thanks luis i just hatching my batch 11 from my pair i hope their all can survive, i hope over 50% from the egg 😂
bro, espectacular! la medidas de tu tanque?
you are removing the tile WHEN ??? right after eggs are laid ?? are you giving time for the male to fertilize ?
Could you give me some advice please? Can you please explain how you take the eggs from one tank and place them in the other?
Trevor March literally just grab the tile and put it in the tank
picasso pair piccaso, do them breed picasso aswell? please reply thanks
Febriant Ant yes Picasso x Picasso make platinums, picassos and percs
where did you get the tile and how many gallons should the growth tank be
thatsLITfam 22 Home Depot and it depends on how much maintenance you want to do. Smaller tanks get higher levels faster vs bigger tanks
how long do you keep your lights on to breed your complish
Eric Chavez I leave them on for 10 hours a day
How do you know when the clowns are about to lay eggs?
Martine usually the female gets really bulky in her center stripe. After that they are on a set schedule
How much gallons this aquariums have?
And the size?
Leonardo Bridi 20 gallon long. Divided into 3 parts
hey luis, loving the videos, and now subscribed.
had a few questions and hopefully you can address it.
i currently have 2 snowflakes from proaquatix and would love to breed them but im really not trying to make it a business but more of a hobby and to fund my saltwater addiction.
ive watched a few of your videos but from what it looks like, you changed how you do your breeding. is it possible im able to breed them in a 30 gallon with the 2 clowns, a cleaner shrimp and 2 banji cardinals? i have no live rock but just bio media and coral (zoas) in the tank. I am growing the zoas too so tank is pretty empty. can i do the same triangle tile in there?
are you planning on making additional videos showing a more precise step by step guide? better yet, are you local? LOL
like i said i am not trying to make a business out of it but something simple, fail proof. i dont mind spending the money to make my life easier. you can also email me visionmax11 at yahoo thanks so much!
Thanks for the sub :)
If you have Cardinals, I would definitely do a removable object like the tiles. Cardinals are nocturnal so if you let them hatch naturally in the tank, a lot will get eaten.
Where are you located?
You can definitely trade off clowns for store credit from stores. Before I became a business, I was trading clowns for store credit and buying everything for me reef tank. So if you want to do it for that purpose, the tank you have now should be fine. As long as you keep up with water changes.
What is the name of that trap? Where did you get it?
Jeff Brown vossen larvae trap from BRS
Hi, I have been watching your series, have fully enjoyed them. I watch over and over in order to process the material for my research. Looking to breed, so more info is best. A few ?'s. Can you tell me the name of the trap I need to purchase ty. Also, have you paired 2 different clowns? I am looking to pr. a (F) Platinum with a midnight thoughts
Vicki Bennett it’s called the vossen larvae trap but I use tiles now. You can mix clowns but just see how they interact with each other
I have almost 3 months waiting to spawned with 2 couple of clownfish fully growned, any advice? :(
Felipe Ceballos just keep feeding. It’ll happen when you least expect it
hey man, awspme video, i want to also start breeding, the dream is the breed orchid dottyback but want to start with clown as there is alot more info onthem. how would i know that i have a mated pair or wat do i need to look for to get a mated pair?
Nicolas Padayachee mated pairs will obviously share the same space, swim together and have a hug difference in size. Also you will see the female tend to grow a big mid section which means she’s holding eggs
So what’s better flowerpot or tile?
Kiernan Deed I like tiles, but there is no difference
Well I want a good looking reef tank, so I guess I'll just have to figure that out before I breed the clowns. Not sure how I'm gonna breed clowns and have a good looking tank at the same time.
Jimmy Greenspan just add a small flower. Doesn’t look ugly and usually the clowns will choose it to spawn
Hello Luis I think you are putting a lot of bubbles on the eggs. I use a single bubble like 1 or 2 per second to avoid damaging the fries. How do you manage the nitrate and phosphate in the parent's tank ? Thanks for sharing your experience. Saludos de Brazil
Solar Chuva everyone has different methods for bubbles. When I had low bubbles, my eggs would turn white. That’s why I increased airflow. Also for parent tank, a good refugium, and tons of water changes
@@TheAqualogy thanks for sharing your experience Luis.
why not leave one of the three compartments empty in the breeder tank, so you can just move the tile next door
Or just throw a divider down the bit of the breeding tank with the eggs in it. Separate the eggs from the parents if they’re at the edge, or have a divider ready in case. Good job.
Hey Luis how can I send u a pm
I transfer my eggs to a 5 gal tank but after 2 days I ended up putting them back on the tank because they got all whiteish I did put stone but don’t know what’s going on
juan sanchez you might have pulled them too early. If they don’t hatch the first night put it back after a few hours
So I have a pair osc. Clowns that are an obvious pair. Thy were purchased that way about two mos ago. Is it for certain they will spawn or no? What are the chances?
Hodad 57 every Clown has a chance of breeding. It’s hard to say if it will or not, but it’s always good to feed them as if they were. It definitely helps promote it
Hodad 57 is one larger than the other, and do they bed down at night together. Also look for fighting, if the start fighting your good, they will mate after they stop the dominance period.
could you not just take out the parent fish
Hi bro how to check clownfish male or female.... help me..?
Nandha Kumar female will grow usually twice in size then male
Hey men, the ceramic pices how log are those? How Many gallons are each conteiner from the clowns?, which is the best temp and salinity to help fishes to star Puting eggs? Do you have to much rock for the bacteria to grow and have an Stable aquarium for every one?, sorry but your videos are very cool but i have some questions so i hope you have time to response my questions, thank you very much.
cucoclub1 ceramic pieces are usually 7 inch by 4 inch pieces glued together to make a triangle. The tanks are 20 gallons and divided in 3, so almost 7 gallons each. I do salinity at 1.020 - 1.022 and temperature around 80. No live rock, so my sump has a lot of bioballs
Luis Perez thank you for the Quick response , did you do any water change on the main display? Do you think i can make it with the salimity at 1.025 or you suggest to stay at 1.022?
Thank you for your response
cucoclub1 yes, since the main display gets fed so much food, I make sure I change the water heavily because nitrate and phosphate starts to build. I keep my salt low because my rotifers are done around that salinity too. So you don't shock the rotifers when putting it with the fry. Also helps fight diseases and waste less salt over time
Luis Perez thank you very much, i Will learn abour all the informarion that you already gave to me.
Hi Luis, great series, thank you!
could you give me some advice please? have you ever seen a female of a bonded pair getting very aggressive with her own reflection, it really gets nasty at feeding time and I hear a popping noise as she goes for her perceived enemy, i was thinking of painting the glass white on the outside or a background of some description, or just don't clean the algae perhaps, thanks.
Nick Rogers is it a tank raised Clown?
Luis Perez - thanks for the reply, not sure as I got the pair as adults and I know the seller bought them from a tank tear down, they are standard Ocellaris so could be wild, she seems a little calmer today, still squaring up to her reflection but no violent attacks
Nick Rogers how did u solve the issue?
just lena - the behaviour just went away on its own, I didn't clean the glass for a while, I'm sure that helped but it looked terrible
Sometimes any fish reacts like that. Try keeping 3 sides of your tank painted a solid color and it may help
How big are the clowns needed to spawn?
Clorox Bleach depends when they are ready
@@TheAqualogy Thank you for the response. I learned alot from your channel, n I enjoy watching ur videos 😊
Hello very nice frys. i need help from u Luis, how you get Nitrat free phytoplankton? must be 0 nitrat for baby clownfish larvel? Dt`s phytoplankton is 0 nitrate i know it, but i can´t buy everytime it i need to breed phyto in home for clownfish larvel pls help me
Cihan kocak replied to you in the other video :) check it out
Thank you but im not understend what its RG?
Cihan kocak RG Complete is a food you use instead of phytoplankton. It's a lot easier to use and stronger than phytoplankton. I mention it in my videos.
thx for Answer. can you give me link from this Video i searc it, but not found
Cihan kocak apbreed.com/product_rgcomplete.php
Do you do a step by step vid of everything i just got a breeding pair of clowns and have done a ton of research but I need a dummy version😂
Reboot pretty much all my videos
Luis Perez I don’t really understand how to setup the tank for the larvae do you have a vid for thay
I want a pair for my first saltwater reef tank hopefully I win so you can send them to me
Hey mate, loving the video. Wouldn't it be easier to remove the pair of clowns? Then you will have the same water quality etc.... (I am very new to this)
Leon Watkins it's not the same. Also the clowns would move to a new home and it would disrupt their laying schedule
do you sell your clownfish
Kimberly Williams I do, but mostly wholesale
Do you sell online ? I'm looking to buy online from somewhere. If you don't can you recommend sites for me .
MermaidPrincess currently I do not sell online but soon will be able to :)
As far as another source, I am not aware of good sites
Luis Perez oh ok but thanks
what to feed them after they hatched?
tons of rotifers!
any other than rotifers?
Tshais-2014 unfortunately no. Only rotifers until they go through meta
I worry that the eggs will hatch before live food arrive
Tshais-2014 sometimes that does happen. It's better to have plenty of food then try to rush a hatch.
you repeat the same thing like 6 times. other than that ok video
Why wouldn't you just move the parents?
Kenny Bratton this set up is not made for fry. The current would be too strong as well as the filtration would kill almost all of them
Luis Perez makes sense
Saludos desde Uruguay. Don't even bother trying to ship internationally. Foreign customs are a nightmare.
Great video but you spent way too much time trying to justify what works for you..awesome video though
Jason Jay as mentioned, it’s hopefully a start for some future breeders. I know I was on the same boat with having issues following other people’s plan, but hopefully “seeing” what I do helps pave the way for people
Mate honestly you do a good job but you do drag it on a bit........the same thing 5 mins lifting a tile come on.
Man! You are talking 8 minutes about how you replacing the tiles in 4 second 🙈🙈🙈
you are spending way to much time on moving the tile !
