【群馬／上野国一宮】一之宮貫前神社／武家の崇敬を受けた三大下り宮 - Ichinomiya Nukisaki Shrine in GUNMA, JAPAN

一之宮貫前神社（いちのみやぬきさきじんじゃ）は、群馬県富岡市にある上野国一宮。
群馬県南西部の河岸段丘上に鎮座し、信州街道に面する。
古代には朝廷から、中世以降は武家から崇敬された古社である。
境内は正面参道から石段を上がり、総門を潜り石段を下ると社殿がある。
いわゆる「下り宮」と呼ばれる珍しい配置となっている。
寛永12年（1635年）、3代将軍徳川家光により本殿、拝殿、楼門、回廊が造営。
元禄11年（1698年）、5代綱吉による修繕時に、極彩色の漆が塗られ、現在の華麗な造りとなった。
いずれも国の重要文化財に指定されている。
千年余を経た古木に囲まれた境内は荘厳な雰囲気が漂い、参拝客を癒し清めてくれる。

Ichinomiya Nukisaki Shrine is the first shrine in Ueno Province, located in Tomioka City, Gunma Prefecture.
It is located on a river terrace in the southwest of Gunma Prefecture, facing the Shinshu Kaido road.
It is an ancient shrine that was revered by the Imperial Court in ancient times and by samurai families since the Middle Ages.
The shrine precincts are accessed by stone steps leading up from the main approach, through the main gate, and down a flight of stone steps to the shrine pavilion.
It has a rare layout known as a "kudari-miya" (a shrine that descends downwards).
In 1635, the third shogun, Tokugawa Iemitsu, built the main shrine, worship hall, tower gate, and corridor.
In 1698, when the shrine was repaired by Tsunayoshi V, it was painted in richly colored lacquer, giving it its current splendor.
All of them are designated as national important cultural properties.
Surrounded by ancient trees that are more than 1,000 years old, the temple grounds have a solemn atmosphere that soothes and purifies worshippers.
