There is a story behind that abandoned place. Once there was a fierce battle between 2 mercenaries. They were called Alpha and Omega. Also it was the battle of the century and biggest in the world whereby 100 mercenaries fought and rock the ground. Eventually Alpha lost the battle, with pride and dignity and that gives omega winning the streak for the third time. So what you saw just now in the shadow could be the soul of the lost comrade that lost in the battle. Glad you are safe cos last I heard there are female souls too.... Creepy AF! Oooo good question. I’d say the hotels are much more expensive than anywhere else, like double the cost, standard hotel was $60-70 aud here, everywhere else a standard hotel is like $30 aud. The food price is very similar, maybe only 10% more than other SEA places. So it’s definitely more pricy for sure. But still affordable. Hope that answers

You should have brought along a puncture seal can with you. The abandoned area could be littered with nails or some sharp objects. Getting a flat tire on that area is the last thing you want. As for the cops, they usually don't bother Caucasian tourist. The big river you saw is actually a dam reservoir for a hydroelectric power station. Usually the abandoned buildings in other areas are occupied by vagrants, drug addicts or illegal immigrant. A good hideout and its rental free.
