- There are different dog breeds belonging to the Bichon dog family. In this video i will show you all of the Bichon dogs.

The breeds in Bichon family share a lot of similar characteristics. They are all great companions and they all have low to non shedding and odorless coat, short muzzle, large and expressive dark eyes, dropped ears and tail that curls over their back.
All the Bichons trace their ancestry to Mediterranean region. The first Bichons originated from Barbets and Poodles. One theory says that the first Bichons and the original stock for all Bichons was on Tenerife. The other theory says, that it is the Maltese, that is the progenitor of the bichons.

How loving and gentle they are. When my dog was still very young, a friend visited us with a toddler and I felt I needed to be careful because we don't have children and my dog was still young himself and could get overly excited and a bit robust. I was stunned how gentle my dog acted towards the child, he knew right away that this little human was not like big humans, so he acted accordingly.
I also love the fact that bichons are so cheerful, my dog makes me laugh all the time, he's truly a bringer of joy
When I wanted to get a dog, I read quite a lot about different breeds because I wanted to find one who would be happy with us and our lifestyle. Bichons seemed perfect and I was thinking of getting either a Frise, Bolognese or Coton de Tulear.
One day a friend suggested we could have a look at the website of a nearby dog rescue. We looked, and there he was, a sweet Bichon Frise. I said: this is my dog. I went to meet him the following morning and he's been bringing us joy for the last 7 years. As I'm typing these words, he's sleeping next to me 🥰
I was one of the first Americans to own a Bolognese. I waited awhile to get him. He was EXPECTIONALLY intelligent. When he looked at you his gaze was almost human like. He was very empathetic. Knowing what to do with each person he met. Sadly he passed a long time ago. Now I have a Coton. He is very lovable and devoted he lives to be near you.

I have a 4 month old coton and he is so smart, fun-loving, and attentive. He trains easily with positive reinforcement. His coat is divine and I love brushing him every day, sometimes twice as it calms him down before going in his crate for a snooze.
We have a 3 month coton. Do you have any videos good for training them?
@@MrElmostudios I like all Zak George's training videos. I also have learned a lot from McCann Dogs videos. The best coton specific videos I've found have to do with grooming - VERY important as you probably know - are Terri Tyler's. Here's an example

I had a Bichon for 15 long years until recently 💔 So I’m very partial to that breed! He was the sweetest little thing & I can’t suggest them enough. I’m looking for a poodle mix of some sort with another non-shedding breed, like Maltipoo, Cavapoo, or Poochon. It’s so hard to settle on one breed!

@@Rocadog I've now had my Bolo for 2 years and he's the sweetest little boy and so adorable. But his coat requires a lot of maintenance. He's quiet, lovable, very smart and has a great sense of humor.

I can't believe I*m late to this video!🤦♀️😂 Well, we changed our minds and we bring home our DSG/DSF on August, 29. Maybe when we're older. I'd take any of them but I'm partial to the Bichon Havanais. There's a Bolonka breeder near us though.

It's bichon frise... Sometimes people think that bichon frise is a white poodle, so bichon frise is the answer!
Cotton, loving gentle dog but barks/growls at anything black until conciderd safe. I think he fears shadows.

How do you tell apart Coton de Tulear from Maltese?
maltese are much smaller and I think their coat is silkier. I have a coton and his puppy coat is very fluffy, but the breeder said his adult coat will be slightly coarser, like unspun cotton.
