Level: Intermediate.
This song was part of the comedy duo's half-hour performance on One Night Stand, broadcast by HBO in 2005. In "Jenny", a woman (Bret McKenzie) and a man (Jemaine Clement) meet each other in the park, and a series of misunderstandings start to happen.
STUDENTS:
Pay attention to the song (in case you need them, English subtitles are activated by default) and take notes about what these people say to each other. After the video, your teacher will ask you some questions and you'll have to answer using the reported speech.
TEACHERS:
This song can be used just after you have explained the reported speech, as the song is slow and clear enough so students can understand it with or without subtitles. The first time I used this in class it was a success: it served as a great way to practise the rules for reporting statements as well as a funny way to introduce reported questions. Once they learned them, students could also describe what Jenny and Brian ask each other throughout the song.

I've had an idea to put together like a movie Tenacious D nice Flight of the Conchords and somehow I would like to put the Mighty Boosh in there as well but I don't think that would work but just Tenacious D meets Flight of the Conchords and they just collaborate that would be so freaking awesome. But nobody listens to my ideas they just steal my got hurt feelings

Perfect example of why American Idol has fallen so far from its glory days. What a horrible song almost as if they intended to make them look bad. That song is horrible and couldn’t be sung by any singer. So bad.
