This is the greatest endorsement for the Downeaster and going to coastal Maine I've ever seen.
I would take capeflyer because it's important to support passenger rail, but honesty there's no excuse for how bad the service and food is. It makes amtrak look luxury in comparison

Come to CapeBus for the quality...free water and DIRECTV signal loss. But they had a redemption arc by saving you guys with lowering the fare and letting you on even without printed tickets so you wouldn't be stuck there! Shame they've since stopped running. I'm shocked Auntie Anne's has yet to hire you as a spokesperson! Provincetown looks nice! Quite Portuguese as shown with the Portuguese flags as many from the Azores settled there after being hired to work on US ships. Provincetown used to have a train station which was built in 1873 but sadly it closed in 1960. It's cool that they decided to build an inclined elevator. The Pilgrim Monument at the top is based on the Torre del Mangia in Italy and marks the Mayflower Compact signing.
Amen to the sad demise of the Capebus - that was the best of the bunch!

Hate uber becouse the drivers can cancel on you, thats why I prefer actual taxis. Never been on the capeflyer, but thats anouther prolem on it's own, fine if it runs mermorial-labor day, but does it have to be weekends only? Would be better if it ran all week and more then 2 trains a day, maybe 6 or8 trains a day.

Some day, you should try the flights also. I believe 9K and B6 both fly from Boston to Hyannis.
The yankee Line bus you took is an Irizar i6 which is common to the Border States California Arizona New Mexico and Texas since they are sold in Mexico but not the US until 2016-2018. Plymouth and Brockton tends to do Hyannis to Logan Airport stops in RT-228 Norwell Park and Ride.

I took the CCRTA busses almost every day to and from High School, and man that was quite something. A 20 minute drive became an hour bus ride, and all the students would have to deal with all sorts of things from strangers too. If you guys had jumped on around the start or end of normal school hours the bus would have been full lol.
Oh my god, that's me in the Sleestak ball cap behind you guys on the Peter Pan bus. I remember you guys, and was really amused by your commentary, but didn't know who you were then! I was going to PTown for the Fourth and couldn't take the ferry because they were cancelled due to an ocean storm, so I grabbed the Cape Flyer (for the first time) and Peter Panned it the rest of the way.
Oh wow, that's so funny! I remember we kept laughing at the ferry cancellation message because it was really awkwardly written.
@@MilesinTransit Yes! I just walked up to the ticket shack on Long Wharf and the dude told me they were all cancelled. There were other ferry refugees on the train that morning. In another strange coincidence, I took the Cape Flyer round trip this past Juneteenth weekend (down Sunday, Ptown in the interim, back Monday) and @ClassyWhale was on the train down making a video, and on the way back @TrainsInBoston and @PetruSofio were on the train doing their review (I've followed Petru on my pedestrian advocacy Twitter for a long time, but didn't recognize him, haha). I wonder who I'll see and not recognize the the next time I take it!
Perfect timing for me- planning a trip back to the Cape. Might use my Amtrak CC points for first leg of the travel, now I have thoughts on connecting into Hyannis.
Not going to lie Inzar bodies are the best bus body on the market and them Yankee buses uses them!

That Yankee bus is kind of significant since it's an Irizar (a Spanish manufacturer) and there are very few of them here in the states.

Looks like those Cape Flyer "first class" seats were salvaged from the former ACES cars.
I’ve never found a flip seat I liked (except for the Silverliner III Airport subfleet), so maybe first class would be worth it to me?
I've never found those foot rests particularly useful, but this is also coming from a tall person

They still use the "first class car" but it's no longer a surcharge - just first come first serve!

What happened to the CapeBus? If you try to book a ticket the website won't let you and there's no schedule available. I think they might've discontinued their service for 2022, I was looking forward to using them after watching this video too 😕

Miles: Have there ever been initiatives to add private cars and specific CapeFlyer equipment for that train?
LIRR has "The Cannonball" on same basic commuter equipment and these train are usually for folks who ask for better service (rich folks)...
Chicago Metra has a Private Car on a "Commuter Club" in C&NW colors in one of their lines that go thru expensive neighborhoods...
AAAND NJ TRANSIT has a Jersey Shore Commmuters Club Comet I believe with Amtrak Business class thrown in ala CapeFlyer...
You believe more commuter rail operators should implement business class seats into their trains, offering a more enhanced service, for a few dollars more?
PS: MBTA doesn't charge extra bucks for that Cape Cod jointed rail ala Buckingham Branch on the Cardinal... You should enjoy the Chief over Raton... Music to the ears of any phoamer...
I think the CapeFlyer isn't well-used enough to justify a fancy car, but I suppose I would be ambivalent if they tried it! This "first class" offering just wasn't very good!!
Urk, tried to get the 210 schedule from their website. It doesn't play well with my website content blockers and kept reloading the page. Guess their server logs are going to be interesting. Tried another, less restrictive browser and it worked. But worse, it looks like you have to pick a particular stop to get a smart schedule for, no downloadable full schedule.
¡Wait! ¿what? ¿You took a T and a bus from downtown Boston to Braintree (and got a ride outside your usual rules) just so you could get a bus back to Logan? ¿¿¿???

Wait, I'm so confused. Why did they take the red line to Ashmont, bus it to Braintree, then get a ride to Logan Express from Braintree? Why didn't they just.....red line to silver line to airport for Capebus?

Why did you go all the way to Braintree?
The 171 would have cut it too close, so doing the Braintree express would get us the last 210 (a bucket list item) and to the airport on time! (Or far too early in this case)
Watching this again, since it's that time of the year. I think Capebus died? The website........... looks questionable to me, like I found a Cape Cod times article, and the link for it leands to a foreign website. Cape Flyer still annoys me with that 1 round trip a day nonsense, and P&B doesn't even hold true to the "B".

You didn’t take every transit method between Boston and Cape Cod, Cape Air has daily flights between Hyannis and Boston

Most of my videos at this point don't have masks, but we wore them consistently back when they were required on transit!
