Two days into your channel love it watching in random order. I love when you have a friend with you, much more of your inner self comes out. The singing is really good and brings a wonderful smile.
The singing was a great addition, you and Jackson have great chemistry. Hope to see more of him in future vids. Also I grew up in Southeast PA and love seeing SEPTA get some love, feels like home
Idea for a video: You know the square-ish shape in the center of Boston made by Gov Center, Park St, Downtown X-ing, and state? You should race to see who can make three full revolutions around the square the fastest by riding all four lines one stop, with one person going clockwise and one going counter clockwise.
That's a fun idea! We did something sorta similar in the Anniversary Roadeo video a while back, but that was just one circle and people could choose which way they wanted to go.
Those upper chordal extensions in the last acapella interlude were fantastic. Tickles my soul as a music major. On a completely different note, I half expect to run into you every time I head into Boston for whatever reason. Surprised I haven't yet! Also, I've got a few ideas for content for either the blog or the RUclips channel: Every Train Station in Vermont Reviewed in One Day (since the trains aren't running I'd be willing to drive across the state to with you to help with that), and "What's the Cheapest Way from Boston to Halifax, Nova Scotia?" (this one hinges on the border being open again, so it's out of the realm of possibility for a while) Thoughts on those?
That was all Jackson - the man is a musical genius, he composed that all in his head! He was a music major too. I wonder if it'd be possible to hit up every Vermont train station using buses...that could be really awesome. And I know nothing about transit to Halifax but I'd love to look into it once the border opens again!
@@MilesinTransit I figured he was, he clearly paid attention in his music theory classes! I've actually looked into transit from Boston to Halifax, and it looks like Concord Coach would get you to Bangor, then you'd connect to a route operated by Cyr Bus Lines up to Caribou, walk to the border in Fort Fairfield for the night, catch a Maritime Bus in Perth-Andover to Moncton and eventually Halifax. It's a bit cheaper than flying from Logan to Stanfield, but I think if one were to transfer to Halifax Transit Route 320 at the airport itself, then that could drive the price down a bit more. Either way, that trip would be absolutely insane, and I wanna try it once the border reopens!
You can tell Jackson that years ago I went to the Downingtown Inn for a week for training. We weren't training to be innkeepers it was just the agency that I work for use that as a central location for the Northeast.
The wake up and obnoxious announcements at NYP are by far the worst part of the overnight NER train. I’ve complained about it multiple times but it’s fallen on deaf ears.
Yeah, I'm not sure what the best way to fix that is. Maybe if the conductors had more info on the seat checks (like the destination where each person is going), they wouldn't have to check again after the crew change.
@@MilesinTransit The thing is though they also change crews at NHV and it doesn't necessitate rescanning tickets. Long distance trains change crews every 3-6 hours and they don't rescan tickets. No idea why they have to do this at NYP.
@@danib62 Oh weird, I don't have enough experience outside the Corridor (yet!) to know about those practices...that is really bizarre then. I wonder if they're stricter on the Corridor because the turnover is higher and the trains are fuller? Just a guess, it still seems really silly.
@@danib62 Could it be that they do it due to the mass exodus (or perceived mass exodus) of passengers at NYP, where remaining passengers may be inclined to switch seats before more passengers get on, muddying who goes where with the seat checks?

Just call the Rte. 100 an interurban (which it is). Philly is unique in still having one. You will really confuse people. I liked the comment about the whole thing being retro. You missed out, not riding the Bullets on the Rte. 100 back in the day. 1930s wind tunnel styling running right up to 1990. They sported leather bucket seats. And they did fly. An amazing ride.
Not seeing it in the comments but did anyone catch the Justin Bieber lawyer @ 6:17. Very funny to include that. I love your style man. Keep up the fun videos.
When my wife and I rode this we found that high speed, I guess, meant greater than a bicycle. My wife asked me why they called it what they did and I told her that if they called it the Norristown low speed line it wouldn't be real encouraging to potential riders. Had you ever thought about this?
I think it's officially called that because it's higher speed than a regular trolley route (same rationale as the Mattapan High Speed Line in Boston) - but also it used to go 70 MPH which is actually pretty fast! They slowed it down to 55 in 2017 after a crash, though.
We rode it about a decade ago and I can't believe that it even hit 50 miles per hour then. If I had to guess I would say between 40 and 45 at the most.
