Hello Tim Once again you have managed to give us more useful information we shall get the hang of all this at some point lol Take care my friend and thank you for all your help
tim, i think I saw you do a detailed video of layering upstream and downstream key. my situation is wanting to "picture in picture" in upstream and the key overlay in dowstream (graphic overlays). am i right this is possible.>
looks like they have added some features to control center. i have been experiencing some audio issues with it. if i have it running my mic gets some extra noise that isnt there when i just use the atem by itself. i spent some hours trying to fine tune my set up and get rid of the noise, and found if i just leave the cc off it is quieter, but then i lose all the extra functions. would love to hear your thoughts on this. current set up is mic into mixer with phantom power out to atem audio in, then to OBS for recording.
@@TimSimpson a lot of the hum comes from my older mixer, and needing a cloud lifter or similar. but the control center amplifies it a great deal when it is running.
Hi Tim. Thanks for the video. I am using Mov and Png files with alpha. They are all light coloured text with black outlines. When i use Downstream keyer with Atem tv studio the black disappear and DSK seems to be acting like a luma. They are premultiplied.
@Trish Rajani so i have a the blackmagic design atem television studio hd and i control that using the the switcher software… i would have to buy an actual panel or the production studio to set multiple upstreams??
The panel like the software is only an interface into the brains of the ATEM itself. If you want more keys you would have to buy a device that handles it like the ATEM extreme or one of the bigger production ATEMs. The control surfaces don’t do any of the video processing.
Trying to use this thing is frustrating beyond belief. I have no sequential memory so my brain doesn’t map icons to functions and learning by sequence doesn’t work at all for me. A number of times in the video you say “just turn that on”, but you don’t show how. Also, is there a guide that defines the functions of the buttons on the software control or even defines terms?
I don’t understand any of the terms (this defines my life, people with a working sequential memory pick things up as they go, my brain is in overwrite mode, I need to understand how things work to use them). I can play with the program section and see what it does. The next transition part doesn’t make any sense to me. What does “on air” mean? It’s a device with 4 inputs and 1 output - I don’t understand any of the transition functions…
Brilliant. Thanks for the video. Just purchased an ATEM Mini Pro for some outside live streaming. I have SO MUCH to learn with the software. Thanks! 👍
Very clear explanation, thanks!
You’re welcome!
Great video explanation, exactly what I was looking for. Keep up the good work
Glad it helped
@@TimSimpson would you be available for a quick call on phone or zoom? I do have a couple of more questions regarding this model.

Glad to help as always
How U create multiple key transition ? Thanks
Very clear explanation, many thanks!
Thanks for letting me know!
Watching Tim Simpson very interesting content 🤩
Glad you think so!

What is the mic
@@TimSimpson marantz mpm 3000. similar dynamics to sm7b

Does that run phantom power?
@@TimSimpson the mic needs it yes. and the mixer provides it. i will be getting a rodcaster pro soon, and hopefully that improves the situation.
Thank YOU!!

Hehe. One of the “Dan and Phil” plushies:)
Hello Tim, i have only one upstream key, whereas in your video you have 4 how can i add an upstream key into atem?

Ditch the background music.
