Armored Core is honestly the closest we’ve gotten to a proper Gundam war sim with the customization. Yeah there were several games on the PS2 that came close with their campaigns but not nearly to this extent. Lot of Gundam games now are more arcade level fair than what I’d prefer. Sure Titanfall 2 exists but that’s an even more streamlined and simplified version of what I go to AC for.
lol i made my javelin suit greyfox build from anthem i designed a while back. color scheme is the same as grey fox and currently making it fast with a pistol and blade/shield. seems to work ok.
I used a pulse shield for my Aerial build (because that's one of the functions of the Gund-bits), but I was having trouble figuring out the color-scheme. Thanks.
Right now I'm using the ashemead. It's a melee weapon, I pair them with the Basho arms and the Zimmerman. With a full melee os and stagger damage I hit over 10000 damage on the enemy. I one shot everything (after a stagger) in the arena, however it's very dependent on positioning
Same here, but with swappable melee on LS. I've been using the dagger since I unlocked it - the cooldown is, like, 2 seconds. I hope they don't mess with the balancing too much because the tracking's already hot dog shit on the PB. QB into the charge to get some distance and even AB works for it. The sound it makes is so satisfying. I spent a lot of time in the lab trying out different combos from various positions and stagger setups. The game's so good. Souls PvP is a boring chore, but AC is built for it. Excited for the arena when I finish gathering all the parts, whenever that'll be. Thanks for reading my monologue.. I'm just glad we got another AC.
@Truth_Hurts_Bad actually I was using the dagger as well, but stuck with the Moonblade instead because of its range. I have a reverse joint and a standard biped. Double Zimmerman isn't a bad combo either
@@motivepigeon Sweet deal! I haven't tried the Moonlight yet, actually - that'll be fun. I've been using strictly Fireza bipeds, since RJs are actually heavier, but as my lab sessions went on, I found myself trying to QB less and jump more to save energy for those nasty combos and wave dash fake-outs and chases. RJ jump height/distance are appealing, but there are the RJ-like bipeds as a nice middle ground, too. I just upgraded my generator and have waaay more EN and stay under the load limit, which is feckin' shweet. Went from, like, 5 QB until second-to-empty to 9 or something. Monumental, but I do miss the blue flame of the Arq gens. Double Zimms seem disgusting if paired with high firearm spec, but I looove the prospect of free damage with low cooldowns. I'm very stubbornly sticking with graceful and deadly melee swapping with a permanent PB in 1 slot. How long did it take you all to get a grasp on all the different stats for all the parts? It's a bit overwhelming at first. It feels like I've spent more time staring at the menus trying to figure out why I'm over the energy limit or overburdened, or which parts are actually going to be better than when I'm using, than I've spent playing actual missions. Maybe I'm just stupid...
You're not stupid. That's just a big part of the game. It's good you are taking the time to learn the stat system. Once you got it down, go crazy with the builds.
Not at all man it's quite overwhelming but some things that will help you figure out what parts to use is keeping an eye on important stat's.. for arms for example if you use twin pistols or shotguns you want arms with high fire arms specialisation to make your hits connect. Melee build? Hit the details button and look for melee specialisation. Unsure of any the stat meanings? Hit your help button when in assembly and goto contextual help then hover over the stat's you are unsure of and it gives you a description. You can also find out what types of damage they do by doing this by hovering over the tiny icons in the top right of that box and it breaks down what type of damage they do, if they're single shot etc. On head pieces you may want to not be staggered for long periods so attitude stability is what you look for. If you have issues with EN shortfall then play around with generators, these are really tailor made to your play style as some have massive capacity so you can dash jump lots but may recharge super slow. The coral (red) generators generally all have high capacity but slow recharge, and faster recharge when you completely deplete the energy bar. Also read the mini text description as some will give you a brief overview like for FCS parts some say "good for missile guidance" then if you go into the further details it shows how much missile correction is on that part, or guidance - where as other parts may have high EN output which are used for energy based weapons. Hope that helps! Sorry it's a bit long
@@Ackz89 Thanks for the tips. I like that the contextual explanation system for the stats is functionally the same as the Souls games, so I'm already conditioned to check there. *It does look good.... but it's too bad it's really not powerful at all, and borderline useless against fast enemies, as most hits will miss.* They should definitely buff it up so it could become an alternative to the meta, where you mostly switch between Songbirds and Stun needles on your shoulders and Zimmermans and Gatling guns on your arms.
The laser funnels are legitmately in the top 5 shoulder weapons they have significantly better tracking than most missiles, instant lock on time, and an insane amount of damage if an enemy takes a full salvo. Also they are only easy to dodge if you do the dumb thing and use both at once, and don't pressure after you deploy them. If you use both at the same time they can dodge both salvos in one dodge if you stagger them they either have to waste most of their boost avoiding the things or take the hit so they have enough boost to dodge your main weapon attacks. Songbirds honestly are only meta in TDM and PVE, they are honestly fairly easy to dodge in a straight duel, and gatlings suffer from lack of stagger hard in duels as well. They will absolutely shred you if you run out of boost or get staggered, but actually getting that to happen is another thing when you are either getting ranged hard or staggered by harder impacting weapons.
