  • Hey guys! In honor of National Head Wrap Day, I wanted to share a highly requested video that I get often - Should I cover my head? Why I personally cover my head.
I encourage you to watch the entire video so that you have a full understanding of what I am saying and why.
*Something I forgot to add in the video is that though the passage does appear to be speaking about a woman covering her head/ hair in times when she is in communion, worship, etc with the Most High, I chose to cover my head full time because I came to the realization that this place of communion and ministering was not limited. I desired to be in this place of communion constantly (ex. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 says to Pray without ceasing). In addition, I would see how the Lord would call me to minister or pray in times outside of church, or set aside quiet time. With that, communion, prayer and being used by Him was a constant thing- hence why I chose to cover all the time. I hope this brings clarity!

Beautiful sis. Thank you for expressing God's heart. Its funny we don't get on men when they take off their ball caps or hats at church or in prayer or worship but when we wear our headwraps it's a whole issue lol. God will help us to submit to Him and to our men of God in Jesus name 💜

Why are you saying EVERYTHING That I have been thinking and that God has been saying to me!! IDENTICAL!! I’ve started trying to cover my head everywhere but home, and your insight and encouragement is a breath of fresh air! I have already been getting flack from people at work. My husband has been very supportive and I was also not influenced by him at all it was a personal decision. But I also share your views on feminism and how I think we are just taking it too far and demasculating our men! Just crazy it’s like I was meant to find your video!

“God showed me that what happened in the natural realm (of woman not wearing their head coverings) was a representation of what happened in the spirit” so beautifully put about how God has convicted you. I can testify of the same for me. I pray for the women of Gods elect, for His truth to be revealed to us all until the day He comes back. Narrow is the road!!! Narrow is the gate. God bless you

Thank you so much for sharing this. I too felt called to cover a few years ago and have found so much peace and joy in it. It has really helped me to humble myself, especially in a world of looks and outward appearances mean so much, which sadly is even in the church. We are called to be set apart, different, unusual, spotless, and blamelesss, not look and act like the world around us. I was called out publicly for it in church which was so embarrassing, but I didn't let it faze me because you don't know what you don't know. I grew up in the church and had never known anyone to cover and never heard teaching on it, so I can see how people simply don't understand it. In my research I studied 1 Cor 11 for months and months. Especailly looking into the meanings in Greek.
The word for covering in 1 Corthians 11:4, 5,6,7, 13, is the word, katakalýptō, from katá, "down, and kalýptō, "to cover"-cover down, to make appropriate (complete), i.e. to wear a veil.
It is the same word used for the veil that separated the Holy of holies from the priests. It is clearly taking about a peice of fabric.
But vrs 15 does NOT use the same word for covering. Vrs 15. "but if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For her hair is given to her for a covering."
This is a different word for "cover"= "peribolaion," that which is thrown around or a mantel that can be thrown around (As in when a women tosses or throws her hair around, or a mantel that rest on the shoulders. So hair is considered long if it touches the shoulders) tossing the hair can be very alluring to men.
This is where we get the saying, "Let your hair down."
Up until only the last generation woman covered in Church. It was only during the sexual revolution that Chriatin women in North America stopped covering their heads. ALL of our grandmothers would have covered in church. This is why the Hutterites, Mennonites, Amish, orthodox churches, and messiniac Jews (Jews who beleive in Jesus) etc still cover their hair.
We are not supposed to be like the world. Thank you so much for sharing.
    1 Corinthians 11:1-18
Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ. Now I commend you because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions even as I delivered them to you. But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a wife is her husband and the head of Christ is God. Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head, but every wife who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head, since it is the same as if her head were shaven. For if a wife will not cover her head, then she should cut her hair short. But since it is disgraceful for a wife to cut off her hair or shave her head, let her cover her head. For a man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God, but woman is the glory of man. For man was not made from woman, but woman from man. Neither was man created for woman, but woman for man. That is why a wife ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels. Nevertheless, in the Lord woman is not independent of man nor man of woman; for as woman was made from man, so man is now born of woman. And all things are from God. Judge for yourselves: is it proper for a wife to pray to God with her head uncovered? Does not nature itself teach you that if a man wears long hair it is a disgrace for him, but if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For her hair is given to her for a covering. If anyone is inclined to be contentious, we have no such practice, nor do the churches of God.

Also, here's some verses in the OT about head covering. Hope these help if anyone is interested.
Isaiah 47:1-2. Come down and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon; sit on the ground without a throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans! For you shall no more be called tender and delicate. Take the millstones and grind flour, "put off your veil", strip off your robe, uncover your legs, pass through the rivers.
(So as we can see, even virgins were to keep their heads covered and save their hair for their husbands. Otherwise it is like they are showing all their nakedness).
Numbers 5:18. Then the priest shall stand the woman before the LORD, "uncover the woman’s head," and put the offering for remembering in her hands, which is the grain offering of jealousy. And the priest shall have in his hand the bitter water that brings a curse.
Also Genesis 20:16 says in the Hebrew
Then to Sarah he said, “Behold, I have given your brother a thousand pieces of silver; indeed this is "a covering for her eyes" (to put back on her wedding covering) you before all who are with you and before everybody.” Thus she was rebuked.
From what I understand In Genesis 24:65. Rebekah covers herself because the bridal price has already been paid. 2 vrs later we see Isaac take Rebekah bright away into his tent. There was no wedding ceremony. Her covering herself was an outward show of her marriage to Isaac. Since they were married he was allowed to take her right away into his tent and "uncover" her.

Amazing message on the need to cover our hair in respect of God :) I think the passage is trying to say that hair covering should be done in places where we meet with God (through prayers, reading of his word, evangelism etc) e.g church or at home. Whenever we pray/ spend time in God's presence (could be church home, anywhere) we (women) cover our heads in reference of his presence and to respect God. I corinthians 1: 5, KJV, "but everywoman that prayeth or prohesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head.."but I haven't seen a bible passage yet that advices our hair must be covered at ALL times. Work for example been an exception :)

Thanks for sharing! That’s something I forgot to add, so thank you for making mention of that. The passage does appear to speak in reference to times and places we meet with God (love how you put that). I meant to say that I personally cover(ed) full time because I came to the realization that times and places I meet with God weren’t limited and I had the desire to walk in a place where I’m in constant meeting and communication with the Most High (constant prayer throughout the day (i.e 1 Thessalonians 5:17 says to Pray without ceasing) , or the Lord leading me to pray and minister in places I didn’t plan to, etc). - hence why I choose to cover all the time. I hope that makes sense. I will be sure to add it to the description as a disclaimer!

This is by far one of the best teachings I’ve heard about this; however, baptism is a direct commandment from The Lord Jesus Christ. “Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.”
‭‭John‬ ‭3:5-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬; “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28:19‬ which was fulfilled in Acts 2:37-39: “Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:37-39‬ ‭KJV‬‬. Jesus said “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬. In these it’s clear that baptism is more than an outward sign, but we’re baptized into His death, that as Jesus was raised, so we’re also raised to a newness of life.
“The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:”
    ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭3:21‬ ‭KJV‬‬
