This took place at UC San Diego on Friday November 7, 2014 as part of the 15th Annual San Diego Asian Film Festival.

I like Anna because she is real. Her comedy and serious stuff just seems relatable.
Anna makes things seem possible but you have to work at it. I am a woman and I am working in a male dominated trade and I am doing just fine.
In fact I he guys are work with make a nice work environment. Don't get me wrong though some guys from other shops and companies not so much. I work with some decent fellers though.

My first thought also was drawn to the young lady who was interviewing Anna thinking okay she needs to speak up or something...realized though that she is "Interviewing" and this is how she is SUPPOSED to be...She is doing exactly her job and I think she has done a great job at interviewing Anna. She stayed on the topics, asked the questions, kept things in order...without all of that the interview would have been a mess! So KUDOS to you...you did an awesome job!
Why is everyone ragging on the interviewer? She's obviously not as outspoken as Anna, but really? She did a good job come on.
cuz they're idiots. interviewer is not supposed to outshine their guest, they're supposed to stay focused, be the anchor, be calm, focus on the guest, etc. they're confusing this with late night shows interviews, which are more like 5minute gags in the format of an interview. they're to make you laugh, and not a real interview.

why is everyone commenting on the interviewer? some people are just a little more nervous than others. we're humans. if you cant hear turn up the volume thats what i did.

I think that the interviewer did a pretty awesome job with the questions and follow up questions.
Death being a real motivator to grow stronger... Reminds me of Persona 3, really sad... At first I thought Akana was edgy in the anti dudes who prefer asian girls, but I think it was either a joke and the focus was mainly on how ppl blandly love, which I understand, and now with knowing her hardship of experiencing her knowing sister's death, I really understand and respect her.
Anna is the most honest performer in the industry. That’s world class in a field that measures success by deception.

I would ask you to consider that stereotypes exist in all walks of life . As an OWG I wear so many labels , because of my preference of women , that I sometimes want to scream.
I am called many things , racist , pervert , YF , shallow , prejudice , pedophile , to my face , behind my back , by implication in the media , including yours.
I often wanted to comment , but rarely do. I felt perhaps this was the setting , where you give hearfelt explanations of your work and your life.
Please remember that there is a great diversity of ideas and philosphies as well as the diversity of race and gender.
People like who they like , people fall in love with who they fall in love with . Two consenting adults should not have to bear the burden of prejudice.
Just because they want to bee together. We all have our personal agenda for being in a particular relationship.

My accountant moms sister died when she was plus minus twenties and then her mom died separately! My uncle died when I was in my teens, grandpa died in my teens, uncle died in my teens, last gran died in my 20’s, grand uncle died in my 20’s 😢😢😢 Horrid, I still have my sister though, she’s a Dr.

Victoria Howarth Well, I meant questions from the audience… I think there are many Runaway Thoughts fans which are interested in what happened and so on. Anyway, I guess they all were just (surprisingly) polite and considerate.

The interviewer lacked enthusiasm. Out of everyone in the University it's amazing they chose her. Anna's voice sounds more interesting and projected, the interviewer is whispering!
Probably because she was very nervous.
I don't think it was a lack of enthusiasm. It just appears that she does not know how to speak in front of an audience and project her voice. Although, I will say that public speaking ability should probably have been a consideration in deciding who should be on-stage in front of the audience.
Obviously, Anna is an effective public speaker and the difference between someone who knows how to do that and someone who doesn't is well illustrated in this video.
I agree that the interviewer lacks enthusiasm and firm voice but it's wrong to claim out of nowhere of the University they chose her. If I criticize something, it's not judgement but constructive advice. I think the interviewer is a lot better than just judge and argue with others, she has the most important quality- humble. Which represents by the willing to shadow herself to promote Anna. It is even hard for a wise and mature person to do that.
