My heart breaks so much for him. Losing his siblings, step dad, and his mom too regardless of her guilt.
This kid, man. ❤️ He absolutely loved his siblings, and you can see his heartbreak in every single interview. The hurt and disgust that he now has for his mom; whom he also clearly still loves very much, is just heart wrenching. I can't imagine both loving AND hating someone so deeply at the same time, especially when that someone is your own mom. There has to be a very sucky feeling. Best of luck to this young man and his young family.
It is important for him to be able to separate the mother he loved all these years from the person who is responsible for what was done to Tylee and J.J.
He can continue to love the mother that was, who is not that person sitting in jail, and be revolted by the person she became five years ago.

ON A SERIOUS NOTE, it is time for the victims to be acknowledged. Dear Chad, as in most all religions the concept is Good v. Evil. Also as with most all religions, everyone will be tempted by evil. Chad you were tested by evil and you failed in every way possible. You have destroyed your own family who cared and loved you, who followed you anywhere. You destroyed the families of JJ Vallow and Tylee Ryan, and caused unspeakable trauma, pain and grief of all those people in their lives. The Evil that tested you came by the name of Lori Vallow.
Daybell is hellbound now. There's no recourse for him.

Glad he got the death penalty. My mother and her brother were murdered by her new boyfriend. He was sentenced to thirty years with a chance of parole in 15. A real slap in the face from the DA office. A real slam dunk case. Forensics, 2 confessions, one written and it was like the DA didn't even try.
That's unimaginable. I'm so sorry.

Of everyone involved in this, it is Colby I feel the worst for. To have your beloved little sister butchered and burned and to have your little brother trussed up and killed and to have both of them buried in a field like they are nothing. To know the mother you had loved so much is responsible for it is about the worst thing that could happen. Then, in the telephone call with his mother, she treated it like it was no big deal! She has absolutely no conception of what she has done to her own children. Worse, she doesn't care!!!
The least she could do is to tell him she is sorry! Maybe some day she might be. Perhaps after Chad's execution (hopefully sooner that later), it will finally get through her delusional mind this is real and have some fragment of a heart left.
