It's been a few years since I read the book and I thought Fili and Kili only died in the movies. I looked it up on the hobbit wiki and yeah you are right they both died. So ... "thank you" for reminding me. I think I'll go now and cry myself to sleep T-T

Namyon Indeed ! Fíli's death was so sudden and brutal... When he and Kíli started going into these tunnels, I was like "Oh shit, it's going to happen... Someone's going to die here..." o_O I was literally shaking during most of the movie. I had some trouble just sitting there calmly without making a noise... and the tears were streaming down my face !
I was shaking too! When I realized Fili was stuck in that tunnel I went like ''Oh no no no no NO'' and for five minutes after his death I kept mouthing his name and crying and clinging on my friend's shoulder... God that was so sad!
Namyon Same !! Everytime Fíli took a step forward in that tunnel I expected some Orc to jump out of nowhere and kill him... Then the movie cut to another scene and I thought "Oh, maybe he isn't going to die just yet ?" An then Azog appeared on top of that ruin dragging Fíli by the hair and... NOOO ! [internal screaming] I couldn't stop crying after he died. Especially knowing what would inevitably come next... (And Thorin's face as he looked up at Fíli, he knew exactly what was about to happen but could do nothing to stop it... And Kíli, of course, helplessly watching the whole scene... Oh gosh, what a heartbreaking scene.)

I was a chapter into the book when I watched the first movie and the instant that Bilbo opened the door, Kili was my favorite. Then I finished the book and skipped the fact that they die and then I watched the second movie and I was all like 'I can't wait for the battle of five armies' and then I watch this and I'm like 'oh snap!' I almost cried during this (I had to hold my breath there at the end to keep the strangled sobs in) and I made the mistake of watching 'Kíli's sleeping song' directly after this and did cry. I didn't wear my Tauriel costume to the theaters for he final movie cause it doesn't have a hood and I was sure that I would need a hood to hide my tears and then regretted the fact that I didn't wear it because the tears were there but literally would not fall and I walked out of the cinema and three people walked in for the 11 o'clock pm showing dressed as Kili Fíli and Thorin. I was like 'darn, it would of been awesome!' So I dressed as Bilbo when I went to see the movie in theaters for the second time (complete with a sweater that looks almost exactly like the mithril shirt). And I asked my sister who her faves are and she said Kili and Fíli because they are good at fighting and they never die. That made my day. They will never die in our hearts. Well done, this is amazing.

I know. When I read the book for the first time there deaths became special to me in so many ways. I didn't like D.O.S for many reasons but I know that in the last film there will be at least one moment that will be special to. I hope they die holding hands/in each others arms.

I did enjoy the first movie. I didn't like the second because so much was cut and so much was added in. Some things in particular that I didn't like the lack of Beorn and lack of dwarves in Mirkwood. That and Tauriel/unnecessary love triangle.
The Hobbit Broney,about your first post, I know, and that's what terrifies me the most.....I'm afraid Peter will kill Fili in order to put the drama on movie. It wouldn't really matter if they died together (of course it will be devastating) cause they were always together, in life, in death, Always! But if one of the brothers died......then all the pain comes raging in. That's exactly what they did in the Harry Potter series. The funniest twins were unstoppable together through ALL the books, and there it comes, at the last one, the one brother loses the other.....Sorry to monologue this, but it really hurts snd I truly needed to express this :,(

I hadn't read the book before seeing the movies, and while I did know Thorin was going to die, I did not know Fili and Kili were going to die as well. What an utter shock that was, I never cried so hard form a movie before...Seeing this amv though...it's still too soon. But beautifully done.
