I literally thought this was a real music video from the 80s for way too long. Only ever seen clips from the show, and never put it together until now. The style in the video absolutely nailed the aesthetics.

This episode of How I Met Your Mother had me cracking up. I loved Alyson Hannigan's face when they revealed that the secret was a porn video, but the secret, early life as a Canadian Pop one-hit wonder (hilarious). "Hey look guys, Robin's rapping!" LOL.
I may not have commented 17 years ago, but i remember watching it every week, religiously back in the day. Tivo was this new technology where you could watch it after without a VCR, but i was a poor college student so it was live, every week. We were obsessed. I dunno if you youths commenting realize what a cultural phenomenon this show was. It was the first sitcom since Friends to have such a following, I mean just look at all the (at the time) a-list celebrities that were guest stars! Rewatching it now for fhe first time in 19 years (since series premiere) is so fun! It brings me so much nostalgia, especially this song! Sure some of the jokes have aged poorly (Barney, as a whole, too), but all-in-all, this is so fun re watching this show as I, now 36, can identify so much more, than before. But also upon googling Cobie Smuthers is only six years older than me and I absolutely cannot identify eith with her being so put together in her mid/late 20s 🤣 3:103:103:103:10
