On the Autobahn, we have what is called the "Rechtsfahrgebot", meaning that you're supposed to keep right whenever possible. So if you drive 160 km/h, and there's no one there, you drive on the right lane, because there might someone be coming with 200 km/h and you don't want to block them. Also, you're not allowed to overtake on the right. There are hefty fines for that. Only overtake on the left. If there are three lanes or more, trucks will mostly stay on the right lane, and cars will mostly stay in the middle. If you see that you will overtake a truck within the next 30 seconds, you can stay in the middle lane, as we want to avoid too much lane switching. Personal recommendation: It helps to watch the "body language" of cars. If you're going 200 km/h in the left lane, look out for cars close to trucks keeping left in the right lane - they might switch over to the left lane and might even forget their turn signal sometimes. Also watch out for cars on the on-ramp, wanting to overtake the car in front of them. They might not just switch one lanes, but two lanes at once 🤦♂️ As long as you drive respectful and keep your distance to cars in front of you, you'll have a great time 😃

Obatzda [ˈoːbatsdɐ] (also spelt Obazda and Obatzter) is a Bavarian cheese delicacy. It is prepared by mixing two thirds aged soft cheese, usually Camembert (Romadur or similar cheeses may be used as well) and one third butter. Sweet or hot paprika powder, salt and pepper are the traditional seasonings, as well as a small amount of beer.[1] An optional amount of onions, garlic, horseradish, cloves and ground caraway seeds may be used and some cream or cream cheese as well.[1] The cheeses and spices are mixed together into a smooth mass. It is usually eaten spread on bread or pretzels. Obatzda is a classic example of Bavarian biergarten food.[2] A similar Austrian/Hungarian/Slovak recipe is called Liptauer which uses fresh curd cheese as a substitute for the soft cheeses and the butter, but uses about the same spice mix.[3] In 2015, within the EU, obatzda was granted PGI certification.[4] Ways of eating Weißwurst include the traditional way, called zuzeln (Bavarian for sucking), in which each end of the sausage is cut or bitten open, after which the meat is sucked out from the skin.[1][3] Alternatively, the more popular and more discreet ways of consuming it are by cutting the sausage lengthwise and then "rolling out" the meat from the skin with a fork[3], or also to open it on one and consume it very much like a banana, ever opening the peel further and dipping the sausage into the mustard.

Yes it's Obazda and the canned stuff is... 🤬... one moment...🤢🤬... not the best choice. If you must, eat it at a traditional (Bavarian) restaurant that prepares it by themselve. It's a mixture of Camembert, cream cheese, very fine chopped onions and spices like paprika and others, sometimes they even put Weißbier in it.
Minor correction: You are not allowed to stay in lanes other than the one on the right, outside of mayor cities. The two lanes left of it are for passing only. So even if you go very fast you have to move to the right lane if those lanes are empty. Ist called "Rechtsfahrgebot" (Drive-on -the-right-commandment). Sadly nowadays there are more and more people who don't give a damn and just stay in the middle lane no matter what, essentially clogging up the left two lanes if they are too slow.
"Sadly nowadays there are more and more people who don't give a damn and just stay in the middle lane no matter what, essentially clogging up the left two lanes if they are too slow. " Bullshit, you see this only near major citys, because the right side is for in and out comming because the have many exits in short distance.
We have a shitload of bad drivers in Germany. I have been to the States several times, so I'm able to compare it a little at least. Especially older people are a danger. Don't be like that by the way. It makes us Germans look so effing arrogant. How would you feel if you'd talk about another topic and people talked smack like that?
I haven't even finished watching it, but I'm always astonished to see how fascinated you get about things that seem very ordinary for others. The way you described and enjoyed the breakfast reminded me of how we get used and bored of things and need someone to remind us, that what we have is special. In general you seem to discover little details for yourself that I myself would've never noticed, because I've been used to them my whole life. Also with every video you make I'm surprised how much you like it in Germany as I've now been abroad for almost 10 years now and can't see myself coming back soon 😂
Wait until the Miniatur Wunderland is open again and plan a visit of at least one day. In summer, I would recommend the urban park "Planten un Blomen", including a Wasserlichtkonzert (water-light concert).
Driving at night is a definite thing to do, long distance it is so worth it. The chance of a traffic jam ist almost none and you can go as fast as you please.
Munich - Berlin is approx. 585km minimum, which is approx. 365 miles. Usually, you need minimum 5 1/2 hours driving. Even if you could speed all the time, you'd never make it in 2 hours - because then, you would have to drive almost 300km/h (or 185mph). Just saying. ;-) goo.gl/maps/wTarFwoq29xk3QXu9 Apart from that, I really like your videos. I like your passion to explore new things, new cultures - with shining eyes, and telling the world about it! Hugs from Marburg!
I really enjoyed this video, especially the smiles on their faces during breakfast and in the car. For me as a German all the things he explained were super common and nothing special, but it makes me remember to value even the basic things in our country... :)

Obatzda is a classic example of Bavarian biergarten food.[2]
A similar Austrian/Hungarian/Slovak recipe is called Liptauer which uses fresh curd cheese as a substitute for the soft cheeses and the butter, but uses about the same spice mix.[3]
In 2015, within the EU, obatzda was granted PGI certification.[4]
Ways of eating Weißwurst include the traditional way, called zuzeln (Bavarian for sucking), in which each end of the sausage is cut or bitten open, after which the meat is sucked out from the skin.[1][3] Alternatively, the more popular and more discreet ways of consuming it are by cutting the sausage lengthwise and then "rolling out" the meat from the skin with a fork[3], or also to open it on one and consume it very much like a banana, ever opening the peel further and dipping the sausage into the mustard.

@@kinmeru Hehe, he reminds me of Dolores' father in Westworld.
@@ConnerSully Another interesting fact is, that the Camembert cheese used in Obazda is not available in most states of the US because of their crazy food regulations. It is made of raw milk like all good and tasty sorts of cheese. This fact is a reason for me as a cheese lover not to emigrate to the US.

never STAY in the left lane :) the very left u overtook someone but u not stay in it xD
In richtig richtig schnellen Autos kann man auch dort bleiben, bis man langsamer wird
If there is a traffic jam on the „autobahn“ , a rescue lane is formed immediately if an ambulance or the police have to go through (cars in the left lane drive on the far left and cars in the middle and on the right lane then position themselves on the far right) ps: sorry for my english
most important rule, change always to the right lane if it is free. dont block the left lane

Obazda is definitely not Hartkäse. It's usually a mix of Camembert and Brie plus spices like mild paprika, etc.
And Weißwurst doesn't taste like the typical pork sausage because it's not pork but veal ;)

I never comment on videos and I’ve been watching yours for the past week. And this morning my German visa got accepted finally! I’ve been watching your videos and it’s been getting me excited and I’ve been nervous about not getting accepted but I just did this morning!! Will be there at the end of next month.

Never call that stuff „würziger Käse“! The girl was from some very northern part of Germany... Just call it what it is: „Obazda“!
Danke dass das mal jemand sagt
Yes it's Obazda and the canned stuff is... 🤬... one moment...🤢🤬... not the best choice. If you must, eat it at a traditional (Bavarian) restaurant that prepares it by themselve. It's a mixture of Camembert, cream cheese, very fine chopped onions and spices like paprika and others, sometimes they even put Weißbier in it.
He specifically asked "what's in it", as in how is it made, not what is its name.
😁 Love your enthusiasm! Hope you'll have even more fun when exploring the rest of Germany
Dad‘s smile while driving on the Autobahn without any speed limit!😁
The rule is always ride on the most right lane except when overhauling other cars.
"
Bullshit, you see this only near major citys, because the right side is for in and out comming because the have many exits in short distance.
Yeah totally understand why u Love the breakfast here in Europe. The breakfast in the US is really bad.
not only rules the MOST rules xD and waaay better driver then in usa so driving fast is save :)
We have a shitload of bad drivers in Germany. I have been to the States several times, so I'm able to compare it a little at least. Especially older people are a danger. Don't be like that by the way. It makes us Germans look so effing arrogant. How would you feel if you'd talk about another topic and people talked smack like that?
ok boomer...
I love with how much excitement and joy you encounter all these wonderful things in Germany (food and speed 🙂 )!
10:17 But not 6 am to 8am. This is rush hour im Germany with many traffic jams
And yes, after 10 pm or or in nicht so there is much less traffic
I haven't even finished watching it, but I'm always astonished to see how fascinated you get about things that seem very ordinary for others. The way you described and enjoyed the breakfast reminded me of how we get used and bored of things and need someone to remind us, that what we have is special. In general you seem to discover little details for yourself that I myself would've never noticed, because I've been used to them my whole life. Also with every video you make I'm surprised how much you like it in Germany as I've now been abroad for almost 10 years now and can't see myself coming back soon 😂
You NEVER EVER stay on the left side! You are supposed to drive on the right lanes whenever it’s possible.

You can't make Munich to Berlin in 2 hrs ! That's Bullshit....its 585km distance,365 mls and we always have lots of traffic on all autobahns
Munich - Berlin is approx. 585km minimum, which is approx. 365 miles. Usually, you need minimum 5 1/2 hours driving. Even if you could speed all the time, you'd never make it in 2 hours - because then, you would have to drive almost 300km/h (or 185mph). Just saying. ;-) goo.gl/maps/wTarFwoq29xk3QXu9
