- This was the season that the Reds scooped a treble of trophies under the reign of Gérard Houllier. Goals weren't hard to come by either in the Premier League as Liverpool's strike force of Owen, Heskey and Fowler netted 38 between them.

KSI has blood on his hands for convincing the internet that Heskey was bad.
Who?
KSI?
Knattspyrnusamband Íslands - He's clearly talking about the Icelandic Football Association. Skol! :-P
@@dantheman5745 thanks...it all makes sense now...it's a Man U fan studying possible Icelandic opponents in next season's Europa League qualifying rounds...
tbf heskey was basically a meme towards the end of his career. Everyone used to say how bad he was it was like a running joke. People just forget how good he was in his younger years.
Let’s hope the premiere league starts or Liverpool is awarded the title
If it doesn't happen we riot
Great goals but we were so far behind Man U in those days. Tables have turned now...
yeah!
Heskey was so underrated. Not the greatest of strikers, but a consistent and reliable player that you could count on.
That's why he was in the England sqaud so much. Him and Owen had a lethal partnership upfront
He was underrated at all. He was very very good and acknowledged as such at the time. I remember his first England cap against Argentina where he terrified them. It’s just history has been re-written by unfunny arseholes
He *was* the greatest of strikers, don't @ me
Thank you for noticing that Heskey is one of the best direct forwards of the league. KSI was sooooo wrong.
Heksey was very good, but Houllier beat any goalscoring instinct out of him and turned him into a flick on merchant for Owen.
The Heskey and Owen partnership was dynamite!
Owen and Heskey were so good together that their careers were never the same after both left lfc
I hate when all these young ones now, laugh at Heskey like his some ex footballer meme. Heskey was underrated player and legend.
He is and he is an icon
Legend???
I can say 200 forwards better than him
@@faiscaofsparta3771 Behave yourself lad
@@faiscaofsparta3771 No you can't 😂 Typical armchair experts
@@HonestFarmerLigue1Fan He's right.
Who else likes the old vibe of the 2000's?
yes very much , but i have to say the defenses where ridiculous !
15:42 what a play by Heskey drawing the CB away for Owen
well spoted
finally i see there are other ppl that noticed that ! great spot saw that too and i loved it , ppl dont get thought this small movments are big brains
This Liverpool team were a MACHINE ... THREE trophies AND a 3rd place finish in the league ... they were relentless. This was Houllier's vision fully realised.
If Nov and Dec hadn't been poor in terms of league results, things might have been even better ... United won the title with a measly 80 points ... 11 points ahead of Liverpool. Just turn 4 defeats into wins, and we could have won the quadruple ...
"the only left footed player in the team, so what's he doing on the right wing?"
that didn't age very well lol
Yep, a certain chap called Messi did something similar...
Robben also
Heskey Owen Gerrard fowler. Amazing.
Heskey was absolutely phenomenal in this season and the next. Unfortunately he kept getting used as a big lump up front in the England setup and all he was expected to do was to barge over opposition defenders and win headers ("He's a big man innit?"). I hated how he was used as an easy scapegoat over England's failures, because I've listened to his punditry and his reflections back on his career, and he seems like a well-spoken, intelligent lad who absolutely loves everything about football.
Yeah...watching him there it was a crime the way he was asked to play for England....under Capello wasn't it?
Heskey was one of the best centre forwards in the league that year in terms of goals, and assists. Very unselfish player.
Heskey = Balance (Powerful, Skillful, Football brain) 👍🏼
Unpopular opinion: 2000-2003 Liverpool is better than 2007-14 one that had Torres and also the one that had Suarez. Before Cisse was a speed deliver for LFC, there was Heskey & Owen. 2 speedy & dynamite partnership in their prime
These era of LFC was underrated & very unlucky. Based on paper, I still think this LFC squad had much better side than the 04-05 one. Kinda like 2007 line up. It's a travesty how this LFC era couldn't win some CL trophy in early 2000s before the 04-05 season where they finally won, without Houlier, Owen, Heskey and Fowler. Nonetheless, the 2005 LFC got the better goalkeeper, Dudek, making the team went any further with the inferior line up on paper
In my opinion, Owen was one of the smartest forwarder of Liverpool in all times. He was even better than Salah. He can score in unbelievable situations. Emile Heskey was simply the strongest striker that Liverpool have had.
'Berger, the only left footed player in the team, what's he doing on the right wing?'
*cuts inside and plays a killer pass like a modern inside forward*
Houllier was ahead of his time. The commentator is an idiot.
Shame he could never replicate this season..He was absolutely unplayable
Gerrard and Fowler are the kings of the Reds. And the Husky was beautiful!!!
I still can’t believe that era of Liverpool players didn’t win the title just once 🤷♂️. The depth of quality is astonishing. People forget about Litmanen, Smicer, Berger, Murphy etc.
But at least they won some European competition trophy
they won the cup treble in 2001
Getting Gary mac that season was a master stroke
Agreed. If only he was younger when we signed him.
I forgot that Litmanen played for Liverpool also. Two Finnish players in Liverpool squad. Good times!
This was the team that was my introduction to Liverpool. On a sidenote, Murphy was a decent midfielder, why didn't he make Rafa's teams?
Came here after I realised Gerard Houlier had passed away. This was one of our best seasons under him. Rest easy Gerard 💔.
When shoot on sight is the favourite strategy for every team in the world
LFC PL Scorers 00/01

what was the starting formation
KSI did a very good job in convincing younger people that he was a bad player
Heskey has the skills to pay the bills
HESKEY TIME !
Emile Heskey, the chuck norris of football
He got so many talents to easily drop your jaw
the way he dribbles down the side line and looks likely to score
I believe that without Michael Owen the history of Liverpool would not have been so rich!
He went to United ruined his legacy
- We sold Fowler in the 2001/02 season
- We did not sign a quick and agile CB
- Heskey and Owen did not evolve as strikers
- We were always a counter team rather than one forcing the play
- We lacked world-class leaders
- We did not re-sign Anelka
- We made poor signings with every passing season Houllier was in-charge
There's so much more why we did not move up a level further.
Owen position like inzaghi but with turbo in his leg , superb
6:17 Murphy Man Utd away, 10:56 Gerrard & Fowler vs Man Utd.
12:51 McAllister free-kick vs Everton.
It's heskey it's 5!!!!!!!
Fowler Owen heskey up front and Stevie and McAllister behind the three...
Don't forget about Murphy
Heskey king
Herskey is just unstoppable
Jari litmanen great player but houillier just didnt seem to like him too much, always had good games
More likely Owens' best season and yeah his combination with Fowler, Heskey & young Gerrard were electric. Fun to watch
Heskeys only trouble was he was too unselfish at times and didnt utalize his immense physical attributes often enough. He was a good forward for us, in 00/01 he was superb.
A Wonderful Season for Our Brilliant Reds 🤩💕
4:52
McAllister: First
Referee: Why are you rising your hand?
McAllister: Because I want to see if they understand what I mean
Referee: Come on, do the corner
McAllister: Ok. Heskey! (kicks)
Hesley: (scores)
McAllister: Sssh referee!!!
Loved this team like the 08/09 and current side. Heskey, Fowler, young Gerrard, genius signing in McAllister - great season!
Damn we had 3 great strikers that season. Too bad Fowler was struggling with injuries and Owen would soon do the same
15:16 ウイイレ アイコニック オーウェン 3点分
Considering how much the team was changed for this season (Babbel, Ziege, Gary Mac, Barmby etc all arriving), it's impressive they were so successful. Also Gerrard's coming out season.
This goal is very beautiful 😍😍
8:54 What a touch that is by Murphy, very underrated player
Come on only Liverpool the champions will back
There's never been anything wrong with Liverpool's attack... What still confuses me is why Liverpool didn't invest properly on their defense compared to their rivals.
...☹️☹️☹️
Chuck Norris of football
wauw!!!
Lord Heskey
Watching this makes me wish we get more liverpool icons in fifa so many are missing
Yo goober, where's the player name captions?
heskey only lacked self belief
You know when Owen was out injured because he wasn't scoring. Berger back in time to find his passing range for Owen in the FA Cup. Heskey played a lot higher and a lot more centrally this season. After that he kept getting moved out wide and further back.
rest in Peace boss.. miss you already .
Loved that season, so many talented players in the squad!💪🏼
used to play football with him at boys brigade melbourne hall, all i remember is you could literally Not get the ball off him, unreal close control
so many good player that season of cup treble ... .pity we cant win the league...
that was fun!
I love to see virgil bodyplay Adama Traore
Liverpool would invincible unstoppable with Messi
I love this team
Emille heskey, the chuck norris of football
Top Liverpool
Heskey time
7:33 that pass is perfection.
Feel free to give us full games during 00/01¬03/04, or sooner if you could. Was looking for them at the start of the year with lock down and stuff but was disappointed when I realised you hadn't added them. Seems right to watch it now after the passing of my first lfc manager gérard houllier. rip

Imagine gerrard in his prime (2005-2010) supplying heskey and owen week in week out
heskey was awesome
Michael Owen

带球如梅西,射门赫斯基。说的就是这位吧😂
I love the directness and the pace of the game. Football is so slow and methodical now compared to back then.
Couldn’t beat Southampton from 3-0 up 🤦🏻
5:46 “turned into his own net...by Mark Fish” 😂
Utfr!!
Heskey clinical, Owen with that pace.. Wow...
poor jari litmanen, injuries riddled his career after ajax
I usually called emily heskey as frank bruno
What a season the golden goal against Alaves may be the loudest I have ever shouted.
My favourite LFC strip
Heskey was unstoppable every season
How come 7 people are first tho
I love these goal compilations. Reminds me of some good times even if we weren’t winning much then. Some good players we’ve had over the years.
These Liverpool won FA Cup, League Cup, UEFA Cup and UEFA Super Cup by the way
63 games, 127 goals. 😁
8:47 Great combination goal
This season make me love lfc forever
