    I disagree with Great Movie Ride. Many people complain about it being "too old" and "outdated" but for me, that's the reason I like it so much. It takes you through the Golden Age of Hollywood. Of course, maybe more articulate animatronics and some new scenes wouldn't hurt but I like the ride because of its history. Disney is giving so much "new" and "updated" things to Guests, that they should have a good, historical, old-fashioned ride. I really was surprised that this attraction was on there. For me, it's the staple of Hollywood Studios.

      I feel the same way! The thing I look forward to most when I go to Disney is the Great Movie Ride BECAUSE some of those movies are what helped begin the revolution of film. Singin' in the Rain is a classic - if you haven't seen it, most have at least heard the soundtrack. There are people these days who don't know who Clint Eastwood is, and it's disappointing. Movies are an escape, for everybody, from reality, and from the average life. For any movie lover, The Great Movie ride is great, because it puts them in the middle of Indiana Jones, or in the rooftops with Mary Poppins. Isn't that a dream most individuals have? The movies they recreated scenes from should never be called 'outdated', because they, for lack of better phrasing, ARE the date. I would hate to be cruising through the tunnel and instead of seeing Gene Kelly, see Christian Bale. Today's society is so focused on REMAKES, and REBOOTS of old films, that calling the originals 'outdated' should not even be CONSIDERED.

      I feel that people who don't LIKE the ride, or the concept, simply don't understand the joy and nostalgia it brings to some people. I understand you, as an individual, not liking the ride, sure. But to say it's one of the WORST ones in the park, is ridiculous. But, opinions will be opinions.

      I don't think it's the worst but if they take out the 1940's gangsters scenes and add in more classic scenes from more well known movies then more people will be drawn and it will be my favorite

    I like primeval whirl, but it feels really out of place in Disney world. Looks like something you'd see in a carnival, not Disney of all things

    • @Simba6303
      @Simba6303 8 лет назад +34

      Yes PRIMEVAL WHIRL does look like an out of the box carnival ride but, that was the intention. I asked a CM what the back story was and they said that it was a place where dinosaur bones were found and the owner built this side road attraction to draw customers. Hence, the road through it, the faux parking stripes, the store, and ALL of the carnival type attractions. I love that ride.

    Really? An attraction is bad because you only like it the first 45 times you ride it, but you don't list Stitch which is truly awful. I agree with most of your list, but saying something is bad because you're local and have ridden it a zillion times is not well reasoned. Just because you've become bored with an attraction doesn't make it bad. If you truly like it 45 times, that kind of says it's a good attraction.

    GMR is a classic!
    Rafiki's Planet Watch is great. Kids can go there to learn about animals and the planet. Going to Rafiki's is what made me fall in love with DAK. It's so amazing that WDW is actually making a good impact on the world around us and fulfilling one of Walt's dreams. Sometimes the animal caretakers will do check-ups on the animals and you can watch. The petting zoo is adorable. It's not the best attraction in DAK, but it's definitely worth doing at least once, and if you have kids you should definitely take them.
    Ellen is worth doing at least once. I love Ellen and Bill Nye, so they were plenty entertaining to me. I could do without the dinosaur part, though. I hated that.

    • @hhansanfranz
      @hhansanfranz 7 лет назад +2

      Tj Samson It is. They should keep the more classic ones like Singing in the Rain, Mary Poppins, and The Wizard of Oz but update the animatronics. With there being a new "wave of adults", we aren't able to recognize some movies or just have no interest in them at all. They can definitely shorten the gangster scene and add another thing. Same goes for the Wizard of Oz part. Don't get rid of it, shorten the amount of space it takes up while still getting your point across. Shorten, add, update.

    Stitch's Great Escape SUCKS. Cant BELIEVE they replaced ALIEN ENCOUNTER with this bullshit. Alien was awesome. I heard the same thing that they thought Alien was too scary, and I agree they should have just put out warning signs so parents could decide if their kids could handle it, or even just moved Alien to another park like Hollywood Studios but they never should have gotten rid of it. It was one of the few rides in MK that adults and teens could really enjoy. This Stich ride is so fucking boring even little kids don't like it. And when he "burps" in your face it smells nasty. Cant believe the imagineers felt like burping in someones face is a more kid-appropriate experience than an alien. Stupid. Everytime I see that ride is still open, I'm amazed.

    • @A_A610
      @A_A610 8 лет назад +10

      Well here's the thing: they *did* have ample warning signs, and the cast members at the exits of those attractions constantly pointed out they where there when parents got angry after they let their kids get traumatized. And because us Americans can't even figure things out when they're explicitly written out for us, they decided to can it.
      If you're still fond of the concept, there's actually a portable rendition of the show traveling the European fair circuit called Encounter, and it's actually pretty faithful to the original attraction.

Stitch was easily my favourite character at the time, and I remember not being able to watch any of the movies or tv show after that for a few years because of how much the ride freaked me out.

I personally think Peter Pan's Flight is the most overrated ride in the entire Walt Disney World, the ride is garbge for the kind of wait times you suffer through. That is what I think. You very clearly think different, but that does not justify your tone or the shut up.

    The Stitch Escape used to be Alien Encounter and it was a nightmare for kids. The alien murdered people in the room with you and you would feel the blood spray, I kid you not. Stitch's Great Escape- Closed Permanently earlier this year
    Ellen's Energy Adventure- Closed Permanently back in 2017; currently being replaced by Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
    Circle of Life- Closed Permanently back in 2018; Changed into Awesome Planet
    The Great Movie Ride- Closed Permanently back in 2017 (same day as Ellen's Energy Adventure) and was replaced by Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway
    Conservation Station- Disney added a new art experience
    Flights of Wonder- Closed Permanently back in 2018 and was changed into UP: A Great Bird Adventure
    Primeval Whirl- Closed Permanently earlier this year
    The only 2 attractions that they haven't changed/closed are Swiss Family Treehouse & Journey into Imagination with Figment

    Maybe that's why I actually LIKE Stitch's Great Escape: I was absolutely TERRIFIED of Alien Encounter when I was a child because my mother would FORCE my sister and I, when we were FIVE and SEVEN respectively, onto that awful experience. It was completely inappropriate for a family-oriented park like Disney.

    • @A_A610
      @A_A610 8 лет назад +8

      "because my mother would FORCE my sister and I, when we were FIVE and SEVEN respectively, onto that awful experience."
      That's because your mom decided to ignore the warnings about how scary that version was, and then complain afterward because she ignored them. It's like a parent taking their kids to an R rated movie, and then blaming the movie for scarring their kids instead of themselves for letting their kid see it.

      Because it's one of the last remaining shows Walt worked on and adored. It's been around since the beginning. No longer at Disneyland. It's one of the last classic things at Disney since opening, and the humor is dated, but it's because they're keeping it the way Walt loved it

    I love primeval whirl. It's fun and the lines are never long.

    I like stitch's great escape but I feel like I always end up with a dislocated shoulder after that attraction. Alien Encounter will always have my heart! The scariness was the best part! I loved it from the moment my uncle scared me at 10 years old and said the alien was going to take me away. Lol

    Universe of Energy is the WORST ride at disney

      Totally agree. Why would someone make an attraction that is 45 minutes long? Everyone would be bored and it's a waste of your time.

      +Summer Lee it's rumored there making it into a guardians of the Galexy ride

    This is really helpful, because The Dis team tends to have taste similar to mine from what I can tell! Since I live on the West Coast and won't have a lot of opportunities to go back to Disney World, it really does help me find ways to keep from wasting my time! However, as a big movie fan, I will definitely be riding the Great Movie Ride at least once!

    I disagree with a large majority of this list, attractions mentioned
    such as Figment, Conservation Station, Flights of Wonder, and Stitch are
    just "meh" for the most part, I genuinely like Energy Adventure, Primeval Whirl is a HUGE guilty pleasure of mine, but SWISS TREEHOUSE and GREAT MOVIE RIDE? WHY?
    I know a lot of people are going to disagree with me on this, I think UNDER THE SEA: JOURNEY OF THE LITTLE MERMAID should've been somewhere on this list, Don't get me wrong, it's a very impressive ride on a technological and themeing standpoint, but it really hasn't been that relevant since it's opening and they could've done so much better with the land they had

    Conservation Station, and the Swiss Family Tree House are some of my kids favorites. In fact, one year our kids demanded we spend 1/2 a day doing the Conservation Station. But, I agree with Universe of Energy. Last trip they started giving warnings to people, basically saying "leave, or you will be stuck here for 45 minutes".

    Oh my god! Swiss family tree house was the coolest thing. I do agree it should be more interactive however running through a giant tree house is every kids fantasy. I loved it

    I worked at Primeval Whirl. We broke down constantly. Could barely be open during the summer during the lightning storms everyday. 2 cast members died on it. The height restriction was the highest in all 4 parks next to rock n rollercoaster. So people would scream all day because their kids couldn't get on. Just an overall nightmare ride.

    I think the issue i discovered with Primeval whirl was that its the same coaster as the Twister on Brighton pier in england and the magic mouse in Flamingo land in england, the point you make is spot on, its basically a flatpack rollercoaster painted with dinos
