Just started mine. I think it's a really cool idea and just something fun to do. Look forward to 10 years from now when my bottle has had 100s of new whiskey added while still having a small percentage of the originals when it first started. Id rather call it a "legacy bottle".
Cheers Wade, this is always a fun experiment. So I have two infinity decanters and I found out that there are a few approaches. My first try was to put the last cls of every bottle I finish in a decanter but I was drinking more peated stuff so the combination was very peat dominated and a bit bland. Second try was just peated stuff and the nose on that was fantastic but the palate and the finish were a bust! Third and final and the most successful one is an unpeated high abv. one I have for the past 7 years. I keep adding more stuff to it and that's the one I fill my flask with. If I want the mixture to be a bit peated I'd just add a few drops of Laphroaig in the glass I'm drinking from. I found out that peat is very very hard to adjust in an infinity decanter and I was better off without it. Glad your's is good though :)
I've also found keeping fairly consistant whisky types produces a good infinity bottle. At different times I've had peated infinity bottles, sherry/port aged, irish, bourbon cask and even wine casks.
My first one is now about 3/4 full and I've been using The Infinity Bottle app to track what goes in it. I've been putting 2oz neck pours into it every time I open a new bottle. Will taste when it's full.
Hey Wade, thanks for the video! Everytime I see someone talk about this, I want to try it. Yours pushed me over the edge. I'm doing it! I think I'll start with a Deanston 12 base. I also think I'll use Ralfy's idea of keeping track of the whiskies I add to it, approximately how much, and when I do it. Just need to replace that Deanston 12... It's really good. Cheers!

I like legacy bottle! Sounds better

Yeah wasn't sure what to expect, probably would have been an even better video it the bottle tasted horrible 😂

@@thewhiskyscribe agree this is a better approach. Mine has been mostly peated
@@McIntyresMalts I still love a heavily peated infinity bottle blend.
@@thewhiskyscribe I think that is the most considered infinity bottle idea I've heard. I'll give it a shot, cheers!
Hahah dude this is awesome. I can’t wait to try it… you should put it up for auction! Lol
😂 thanks man! Don't know if anyone would buy it, but it has been fun experimenting with it!

Oh didn't know about that app, just had a look, looks good!

That’s awesome to hear! Let me know what you put in yours and how it turns out 🥃
Wade I have thought about doing this but somehow every bottle I open goes to infinity and beyond
Hahah love it!
