Great video. Just back from by first boating holiday on the Shannon. Had a choppy ride on Lough Ree on Saturday from Hodson Bay to Coosan Point. Can`t wait to explore more on the Shannon again. Getting great tips from your videos keep them coming.
Hi Harry and Marion, thanks for another great blog. Just found how to comment on blogs. Met you some time ago with Hugh in Lanesborough. I get my water fix from you when I am not where, great work keep it up O Marion my wife is the same and loves the river, CU river side
Another great video. It is worth mentioning Barley Habour, a beautiful harbour opposite Lecarrow where you can moor without going too far off the main channel. It's not on the navigation map books but is on Navionics.
Thanks Tom, we did a short video to Barley Harbour here: ruclips.net/video/RJKva_dJPsM/видео.html Have a look, it's an old one so not great sound I'm afraid!
Hello Harry and Marion this is another great blog. Marion does not like being side on to the waves when the wind is blowing going across the lough, but she makes a good bowl of soup! I like the new uniform matching fleeces and life jackets, you are like crew members of a SUPER YACHT very smart or are you just up grading the presentation of the blogs. You are both very informative and entertaining and I enjoy watching ALL your blogs. Keep the good work up.
Hi John, Matching fleeces from 'Pennys' 😀 No Mar doesn't like it if there's a bit of wind up at all. Glad you enjoy the vlogs, we'll sure keep em coming 👍
Hi Harry and Marion, I'm really enjoying your vlogs, last year was our first time cruising with a hire boat on the Shannon as it had been on my Mother in Laws bucket list for a long time (she's 86) Unfortunately we got beached on the reeds at those moorings in Ballyleague 😒 oh the embarrassment, but some very helpful German boaters helped us to sort it out. We enjoyed it so much we are doing it again in June, this time on Lough Erne. I've been watching your trip from last year up on the Erne for some useful information before we go. Keep up the superb vlogs they are great to watch.
Hi Chris, Great that your mother in law got out for a spin on the water. That confusing marker at Ballyleague has caught out many a boater so you're not the first and certainly won't be the last, it's very easily done. Lough Erne is certainly beautiful. Mar says to make sure to stock up on food and beer because shops and pubs are not very plentiful. Delighted you're enjoying the vlogs and thank's for watching 👍
you had the choice of 3 more places to eat near coosan point, there is the chalets near the other marina across from coosan point, the Wineport at the other end of the inner lake and the Glasson golf hotel all with their own harbours all great places to eat
The Confession Box!!! Great Pub, we watched the CL-Final there. And we stayed in the same harbor as you folks. And we had a strong breeze and lots of waves on Lough Res, but it was fun cruising there.
Ah well spotted! Yes, I do enjoy an occasional pint in the Confession Box when I find myself in Dublin. Ree is not a great place to be when there's a wind-up!
Marian and lakes, not a good mix 😂 how on earth you ever talked Marian into buying a boat is an achievement in itself Harry. Hope to see you both on the water in September, and of course Driftwood.
Hi CTW, Yes you're right. I certainly had to stockpile quite a few brownie points first! And believe it or not, we actually lived on Driftwood in France for 18 months! Mind you she prefers canals to lakes 😂 Hope to see you on the water 👍
Hi Harry and Marian seen ye in shannon bridge last bank holiday weekend .we were in blue and white barge heading up to inner lakes.hope to meet up with ye sometime. enjoy your blog keep up the good work .Ger Marie
Hi Ger & Marie, if you spot us again just knock in, the kettle's always on! Glad you're enjoying the blog. We were on our way south to Lough Derg for a potter about for a few days 👍
@@DriftwoodBoatBlog I've watched a tonne of your videos, great content. I am recently back on the water after a few years off. I am mainly an angler but love all things boats, keep an eye out for my boat "Pot Luck" on the Shannon system.
Great video! Thanks
Thanks for that, I'm glad you enjoyed it 👍

Thanks Gavin, glad you're enjoying the videos. I'd guess you were the only one out on Lough Ree on Saturday, that was a right gale! H&M

I just noticed we stayed in the same spot as you.
It's a lovely spot if you don't get a gale blowing 👍

Hi Tom, yes we have eaten in all three places you mentioned and the steaks in the chalets are my favorite. Ta 👍

Fair play, you're a real trooper 👍
