Hi Harry and Marion, Lovely to see ye back out on the water. When are ye hoping to make Limerick? That’ll be a fun trip again. Safe travels. Thanks, Pete and Caroline.
Thanks so much for sharing these videos. I had the great good fortune to live in Killaloe from Jul 2016 to Dec 2018, and the even greater fortune to meet and sail as crew on Rayon de Lune out of Garrykennedy on Saturday afternoons. Your videos bring back many happy memories of living beside the Shannon and of hours spent sailing on Lough Derg. I'm now land locked in Ohio again, but ever grateful for the lovely time we spent in Ireland.
Sorry I'm late guys, another great video, there's a lovely view down there, great cruise, stay safe guys! Thank goodness things are getting back to normal
Great video again guys and lovely to just see you back out enjoying the waterways again Hopefully will catch up with you again at some stage and was great to finally meet in Dromod Enjoy!
Hi harry can u make a video about the vhf radio which channel u need to be on and can you have a convention with other boater near you I know that channel 16 is a emergency channel thanks
Great video Harry/Marrion Good advice as usual. I went ahead and got my Victron solar panel and control unit from Karl in euromotive. Super job altogether even with poor sun.
Hi and glad you're enjoying the Chanel, our book is Driftwood from the Shannon to the Marne. It's available from our online store www.driftwood.tv/shop Keep viewing and we'll keep putting out nice videos 😊 H&M
Is this just for iwai members only that mooring bhoy? I've always seen it but wasn't sure, I would not want to be annoying anyone, it's a lovely place to stop off, harry. I love these tip vids, like the inner lakes one, it was a gem of a spot.
Hi, no anyone can use them as far as I'm aware. It would certainly be difficult to police them if they were for iwai members only👍 Just tie on and enjoy. NB I wouldn't trust them in a wind 🙌
I enjoyed your film and am pleased you will be exploring the Estuary later on. Re mooring buoys: is there a map of remote mooring buoys on the River Shannon? Are they available to all users in the way that the Waterways Ireland buoys on the Erne Navigation are? The Shannon could certainly benefit from buoys like those on the Erne.
Hi Brendan, glad you enjoyed it. Yes the mooring buoys on the Shannon are marked on the charts. There are quite a few of them often in secluded bays. 🤞for the estuary 😀
Hey guys! Just a quick question! About to go on my first boating holiday on loch Erne with my little 17ft 2 berth cruiser. Do I really need a depth finder or can I just use the markers or map I bought which tells me the depths. Kind regards
Our 1st boat was a 17' two berth, it was made of plywood! and we had two young children onboard too😀 You won't need a depth sounder at all. just get the charts and follow them. All will be good, hope you will have s great holiday, enjoy 👍 H&M
