Winning everything with his team and selection, being crucial in those achivements, and making the most difficult saves I've seen, in my opinion Casillas is the best GK in history.
A great and underrated goalie. Easily better than Neuer. And for me, better than Buffon when both are in their prime. Buffon has the longevity though. And what is this 9/10 for the trophy category? That’s an obvious mistake.10/10 here. No discussion needed.
I know the video is 5 months old but it’s the latest one about goalkeepers. I would really advise you to rethink the categories you measure the goalkeepers in. 1. As you said flair, is hard to measure for goalkeepers. Cause looking spectacular in goalkeeping is not a good thing, there are goalkeepers even on top level that make a look harder and more spectacular as it was. It’s all about safety, making the safe more spectacular Leads to mistakes. So in my view take the Flair point out. 2. Shot Prediction and Positioning can be combined under one point. Being in the right position is part of shot prediction, taking the right position, looking where the striker is, on which foot the ball is and which areas are available to shoot for the strikers are all things a goalkeeper does at the same time for preparation to safe a shot. It all happens at the same time. 3. Take under consideration that 1vs1 and saving long shots are very different scenarios in goalkeeping. In 1vs1 scenarios you see goalkeepers five way too fast and make it easier to let the striker score, but the same goalkeepers make awesome long shot saves. It’s very different scenarios, like playmaking or finishing for field players. 4. Security. Saving a shot is good, but making sure the striker can’t get to the ball after the safe is a different thing. Goalkeepers have to make sure they catch the ball or they deflect the ball in a position the ball is out of reach for the striker. There are many cases where you can see shiny double or triple saves and the people go wild because of it, but in many cases this double and triple saves only happen because the first save was not clean and giving the striker the opportunity to score again. There are scenarios where you can just be happy to reach the ball, that’s a different topic. Plus you could put under this category, the ability of catching through balls or high balls like corner kicks. It’s a very important part of the goalkeeper game, but doesn’t get any recognition by the people that don’t have any goalkeeping experience. 5. This is now a very debatable aspect, which just developed a lot during the last ten years and the revolution of goalkeeping with Manuel Neuer as the big shining star. Playmaking is very important for goalkeepers nowadays. Throwing balls for quick counter attacks, playing safe balls during opposition pressing and playing long balls with high accuracy is not that easy and is a big plus for a goalkeeper. In the Time of Buffon and Casillias it was not important at all, but nowadays it’s one of the abilities that differentiate great goalkeepers to worldclass goalkeepers. One of the main reasons Bayern won 7-0 against Barca or Germany won the World Cup in 2014 was that pressing against Manuel Neuer was not working. The opponents were pressing on him and he was just able to play a very precise long ball and the first two defensive lines were overplayed just by him. At the end I really enjoy your videos, just watched 5 in a row. Keep up the work. These are just some points I wanted to share that also I learned throughout my 20+ years of goalkeeping.

Absolute legend. Massive respect Iker, from a Barca fan.
Cassilas didn't really get the respect as much as Xavi but still he is one of the best keeper
Real Madrid treated him very badly at the end. To this day I don't get it.
Casillas was captain of both prime spain and Madrid. Casillas > Xavi
@@tommyvercetti6600tbh you cant really compare a midfielder with a goalie
