Marco, I love the coverage for this game and your enthusiasm for Plaay's offerings. You've helped convince me to get this game along with the Tennis game and HMGolf. And their holiday sale is coming as well! Thanks for all of your awesome coverage!
Marco, you are a great host for a channel. You explain things well and keep the game and topics interesting. I would strongly enjoy a History Maker Baseball project of any kind.
I don’t follow baseball at all, and this was STILL a 10/10 video! Echoing the others, you do a fantastic job presenting, Marco! Please, please do a Second Season playthrough - maybe final quarter of a game? PLAAY on, sir!
A question @ 57:25 mark Blauser is up to bat and gets a hit, the decider pip showing, he should be stoic, you re-roll the die and get not stoic. Is it a house rule to re-roll the die or an actual rule?
Ok so I’m not sure what the official ruling is, but I have a home brew that when a batter reaches base and we need to know if he’s stoic or not, I re-roll the decider die. Adds a little extra drama and intrigue in my opinion.
Looks like a nice basic game that lumps HR, fielding, SO, BB, etc. frequencies into just 4-5 catgories each, for simplicity and easy game play. Adds in hot or cold arbitrarily (?) for extra fun.
@@MarcoScola it’s not good if you like keeping individual player stats but it’s great for playing seasons and keeping team stats. It’s incredibly accurate also. Halfway through my 1980 Phillies season they had the exact same record as the Phillies did in real life
quatitative question: do team collective defense ratings (pitchers+fielders) yield realistic runs against?? i.e. do pitcher's ratings account for defense behind them, good or bad?
I'm not sure if the ratings directly incorporate fielders' ratings, however, the game will call on fielders' abilities throughout the game and that plays a factor in whether an out was converted or not.
There's no "requirements" for hitters to either bunt or anything that affects their ability to be a good bunter? Every hitter gets that simple bunt chart? Even if he might have not been a good bunter?
It’s neither. They become a semi struggler when they give up 4 runs I believe and a full struggler after the 5th. They’re fresh for 3, semi fresh for the next 3 then not fresh after that
Basic pitcher quality is determined by ERA. This completely eliminates this game as a serious game. I converted every single pitcher I had, using WHIP as the prime determinant. Took me a long time, but I get VASTLY better results.
I don't play a ton of replays so I'm fine with how the ratings work out. And I could be mistaken but I don't believe ERA is the only determining factor in pitcher qualities. They offer a "How To" book to make your own teams and I'd imagine it's a lot more nuanced than that.
This is a terrible game. ERA is used for pitcher quality. A reliever with an excellent ERA, vs. a starter with a higher ERA but lower WHIP will be rated higher. This is inexcusable. I took every pitcher in the game, and completely reworked their pitching skill, using WHIP, which is VASTLY better than ERA.

20:06 I like how you manage your cards with runners. I always wonder how to do this to keep people in batting order.

Ty for the video. I like the game but there are a lot of Grey areas that create confusion.

Wooooo baseball ⚾️

So after 6 innings is the pitcher a struggler or semi struggled? Or nothing? Great video, love your enthusiasm!!

Why did you wait until the Cubs tied the game to bring the closer in for the Cardinals?
I don’t know you’ll have to ask the manager
wow😯
Thanks for watching!! I was just as stunned as you were!!
You should try the express version of History Maker baseball
😀😇
