Thanks for the video! I have played a ton of football board games over the years and this one is my absolute favorite.

The regular Second Season game is phenomenal but as Marco said at the start, any full play football game just takes too long and this is a good compromise that utilizes player ratings.

More great stuff, Marco! Nice to see those teams playing each other, which for me is one of the best things about Second Season--it really feels like the teams are playing each other, even teams from different leagues or different eras.
I have the main game, but I don't have SS Express. Instead, what I'm going to be doing is a combination of the Instant Results Chart with the Fab Four chart. This will give me a score and situation with between four and seven minutes left in the game. (The Instant Results chart is used to determine the difference in the score at that point in the game, so some games will be close, but others will be blowouts.)
If the game is NOT within three scores (or if it's a game I'm not playing out fully anyway), then there are two minutes to go, and I finish it out using a chart from a different game.
But if the game is within two scores, then I finish it out from that point (between four and seven minutes depending on a dice roll) with the full Second Season game. This is what I'm going to be doing from here on out, to keep the games from taking too long, but still having the good finishes of games that are close enough.

Second Season is my football game of choice, and SS Express was an ingenious invention by Keith Avallone, but I just don't think the Express game, especially, is the ideal engine for playing all-star teams against each other.

Off topic question, what video editor do you use? I'm thinking of trying to put a video together and uploaded.

I feel Fast Drive Football is a smoother playing game than this. And I wasn’t impressed with the stats that you came up with. To each their own. Nice video.

I was interested until you said there were elements intionally withheld so you need the original version. Why not just call it an expansion or just include everything in the he "express" version? Pretty scummy move.

Not sure who you're mad at. The PLAAY website clearly states that it's not a standalone product:
"NOTE: the express game is designed to complement the full version of the game NOT replace it! Please don’t purchase the express game unless you already own SECOND SEASON-thanks!"
Do you really expect an outstanding complete football board game for $21.00??
