I think in the context of the song, I know in my part of the world (Boston, Mass.) Bohemian refers to a 'life style' or way of dress: easy going & go with the flow sort of vibe. I can assume this from the lines "Oh. You're a waiter, I'm a waiter too... No I haven't heard of your band... Are you Vegan...." etc. I know in Miami, L.A. and NYC "everyone" is an actor/ model/ in a band, and the running joke is: "Oh, You're in a Band (actor/ model) What restaurant do you work at?" Almost like, how 'The Hipsters' today are in a sense a 'life style brand' of people: vintage clothers, and being ironic for the sake of irony. Being Bohemian would be that sort of label or brand, in order to identify "like minded people" And if I recall correctly (about the group) they burst on to the music scene really fast & self imploded like The Smashing Pumpkins & No Doubt. (There was only room for one star...)

In etimology the word refers to a person from Bohemia, which is a large part of the current Czech republic and indeed a free spirited folk.
