If you don't disconnect any sensor, and you don't when you change 407 air filter, the battery may remain connected.

In my 1.6 the filter is behind the engine, much difficult to access, really. And he disconnects the battery because there is a sensor connected to the filter cage that he needs to disconnect to remove the cage.

Carlos Garcia My 1.6 engine is similar to yours and the air filter is behind it , not like this one in the video. And i was wondering if i change the air filter without disconnecting the battery , it can do something bad ?

I checked the manual and certain models have the filter in that side. If you have the filter behind the engine, just go ahead and replace without disconnecting battery, no need. To access to the filter box I removed the tube that feeds it to have some clearance. Easy job. I believe he disconnects bat in this model in particular because there is some sort of sensor that he needs to unplug but not sure really.

Shouldn't the NEGATIVE pole be disconnected 1st?
Disconnecting POSITIVE is a likely way to fry the ECU
