    I taught Satcho is short for Satsuma and Choshu, in every translation its like that

    • @giarenella
      @giarenella Год назад +8

      In fact it is, but I think he put 'we' as a way of implying that the singers are indeed soldiers of the Satcho alliance. After all, the song was made as a way of depicting Satcho soldiers' high morale/feelings

    Although there is no full version to listen to. But this is still enough to imagine the melody and lyrics from time to time.

    So what does "Tokoton yare ton yarena"? Or it doesn't have a translation?

    • @JMSTranslation
      @JMSTranslation  11 месяцев назад +8

      These words are just for rhythm, but after the release of this military song, the word "Tokoton" came to be used to mean "thoroughly."

      I read somewhere that it should recollect the sound produced by shoes dancing to traditional Japanese dances (kinda like a onomatopoeia), but I’m not sure if this is true.

    Honestly, better than Battotai. Yes I said it. Its the first, OG Imperial Japanese Marching song. Yuki no shingun was russo-japanese war. Battltai was hirito's time

      Battōtai is actually from the same period of this song, the Meiji period, but Miya-san still remains the OG. Miya-san is sadly underrated tho, since it is overshadowed by Battōtai and Shouwa-era gunkas. I prefer this all the way

    • @JamieBar
      @JamieBar 3 месяца назад

      @giarenella Ironically Miya san Miya was originally the more well known song. So we'll known infact that it's melody was synonymous with Japan the nation itself and was even included in the opera Madam Butterfly.

      This song was made during the Boshin War, and the lyrics praise the victory of the new government army (the army of the Satcho Alliance).

    In Japan , the end of Edo period is called "Bakumatu".
    I'm glad to you know the history of Bakumatu.
    This is because the history of Bakumatu is deeper than that of Sengoku period.
    Many people tried to change Japan with strong will.
    As a Japanese person, I hope that you will deeply understand the history of Bakumatu.
