I remember my excitement at reading Hate #1, which I had bought on the recommendation and word-of-mouth of John Porcellino, who ran a long-standing underground comic shop. I looked forward to every new issue. I have to admit I am older now and out of touch and had no idea about Hate Revisited! So, thanks for letting me know about it and thanks for this great video interview!
@@febobartoli oh wow, yeah. Crazy to think any hate fans don’t know about it yet but what can you expect from the modern comics industry’s lack of promotion!
Great interview! I loved the new Hate issues, it felt as he never stopped doing them. And I'm glad you asked about the inking. It amazes me how he doesn't realise is not as good and tight as it was before haha, I thought it was rushed, but I guess it was his eyesight! Still, I've enjoyed the series a lot, and I hope he does more in the near future.
Damn, your interview reminded me how much I absolutely loved the parts of hate and the Bradley's with Babs. The parts with Buddy's mom are great too! Two great overlooked characters in the series.
Bagge's women characters are all as three-dimensional as the men. Babs & Ma Bradley really came into their own all the way back in that Neat Stuff story where they're hanging out at home together and get into a huge fight.
The eyes thing doesn't just affect the author, as an old school fan my eyes are having such a hard time re-reading from the complete edition even though its slightly bigger. The little background stuff I used to hunt for is just completely lost on me now. Maybe the next miniseries can be in large print?
It should be, I know those "manga" sized volumes Buddy Does Jersey and Buddy Does Seattle (and Buddy Buys a Dump) were a good value & got more people to read the comics, but the smaller art literally diminishes the work
You can't apologize on the internet because the internet is like a psychopathic partner. They will make you apologize countless times for the same thing
The only other character of Bagge’s that I thought might have legs for a resurgence, especially with the insanity of current day politics, is Studs Kirby.
🏆🏆🏆THANK YOU for this interview!! Fantastic work!!
You're welcome, glad you liked it!

Thanks! More Hate is not out of the realm of possibility - I did ask him about it in the second part of the interview - stay tuned!
@@cartoonaesthetics That's great to hear, as I felt like it didn't end with a closure or anything like that. Looking forward to the second part!
Thanks so much for this. Great to get some background on this series. Looking forward to part 2.
You're welcome, I'm glad you liked it! Part 2 goes off on some interesting tangents.
Thanks for this, great interview.
Glad you enjoyed it! Part 2 goes up in a couple weeks.
Good interview with the man himself, looking forward to part 2.

I appreciate there was no podcast-style intro 👍
Life's too short!
Great stuff
@@raimywinter2309 “neat stuff” some are calling it
Cool interview, man!
Glad you liked it! Be sure & come back for Part 2
Wow. I'm impressed you got Peter Bagge on here. How about the first new John Kricfalusi interview ever next?
Not bloody likely!
@@cartoonaesthetics For moral reasons or "he wouldn't do it" reasons?
More BAGGE! He's the coolest!
See you back in a couple weeks for part 2!

Thank you Peter, I can't imagine the 90 s without HATE.
You really can't
that was good
Thanks man
Also . . . I love Devo too. Definitely top five bands for me.

I don't think I was apologizing for anything too scandalous, so it should be okay
