My mono white Balan deck is my most devastating deck I own. You just gotta pump any ramp card in white and play low cost cards, easily winning with commander damage.
I've been both the Evil Blue mage that trickbinds a fetchland to hose a person off of getting blue mana and I've also been the Saintly Blue mage that's sacrificed myself with a Pact of Negation to save someone else.
Blue players in general have the same dilemma as Nadu players. Which ironically, blue is in that creature's identity. The problem is, blue players and magic players in general like to abuse stuff and be assholes. The way I see Blue magic, it can be good for the group. I find that I would rather be the guy people want in their LGS games and not the guy with the bad reputation who plays the asshole cards just to be selfish.
Not a single blue player I've ever met in life would do something so kind, but also I don't play with people who mess with land tutors, that's just mean
@@pheonixwarrior10fold Stifling/Trickbinding fetches in 1v1 competitive is legitimate, burning a Dark Ritual and an Opposition Agent to just intercept an Evolving Wilds in 4 player edh is a waste of resources for minimal gain and you've made an enemy at the table.
I would never have used a card like that in the first place. I'd rather use something like last word. The four mana cost makes it so much worth it, since it can't be countered. But you can rest assured, I'm only using something like that when I absolutely have to. To save someone else from a terrible threat or, someone wanting two exile One of my creatures when it has done nothing threatening.
The only problem I had with the video, was the guy using that blue counter spell. Lose the game if you can't pay 5 Mana is too expensive. I would rather have used something like overwhelming denial. What is the person using the opposition agent was a dimir player and counter that counter spell? Not only do you lose the game, but everything you did amounted to nothing. As far as the argument against blue players. I look at it like this, every magic player has the right to defend themselves. If you don't and have the means, then you are an idiot. Any magic player that has a problem with Blue magic being used defensively is full of crap. Blue magic does not have to be used selfishly. It can be used to benefit the pod. I'm talking, someone is about to play farewell. You have the means to stop them, the question is... Do you? Blue players always get blamed for using instant win conditions, like the Oracle. But realistically, cards like that exist in other colors. Like approach of the second sun. There is a wonderful little red and green spell called a treacherous terrain. It does damage to every other player equal to how many lands they have. Alternatively, there's a red version called acidic soil that affects every player, including you. Quit blaming the blue player for using these cards, when they exist in every other color identity. I use Blue magic choir frequently and use it responsibly, the way it should be used in the first place. Not to do something selfish and stupid. Why? Because I actually want people to enjoy playing the game with me. The worst thing you want to be is the one player nobody wants to be around.
It's not the same, but 2 days ago, I used [Uyo, Silent Prophet], and [Mystic Sanctuary] to take an extra turn, casting 15 copies of [Tempt With Discovery] over the two turns to help a buddy who'd been missing both land drops, and colours.
@@refroggy nope. Because playing the game with people means more to me than winning it. I only play the game with other people once a week and I want that time to be spent with people having fun. Not people hating me because I did something selfish.

I was expecting him to force of will his own pact of negation just for emotional damage. Every blue player I know would absolutely do that.

red and blue are opposites but in literally the cutest way, logic and chaos teaming up is such a nice concept to me but ik im not alone on this
I get this, kinda like when two characters made of fire and ice come together and help each other out
It’s sweet
izzet is a broken color combo

I swear this blue player would find a way flash in platinum angel or draw the game IRL 😂
Literally had 3 black lotuses in hand
Only thing missing was a gemstone caverns and a stifle

I did a similar thing in my game of commander just because. Pact a Commandeer targeting a Sol Ring. Everyone was so confused at the play.
🫡THERE GOES MY HERO😢

This is the saddest and most wonderful ting I've ever seen. Give this man an Oscar and give this blue player a freakin Nobel Peace Prize!
The real question is, who tf wants to play with a guy who Opposition Agents your T1 Evolving Wilds?
This is me when someone plays a turn 1 sol ring just to send a message
If blue did something like that more often with their negates, I would certainly wouldn’t hate on them as much.

The blue player should have mental misstep that dark ritual.
I was waiting for the "on your end step" from the blue player XD
Wow, not where I thought this was going to go.
The blue player knows, the way to generate the most unfun game possible is to let the red aggro player play
And it is really bad when they figure out a way to use their red magic to one hit kill your creatures without going into combat.
I've thought about doing that, woulda been a hero.

The biggest problem I have with this video is that card, pact of negation. There are far better and cheaper counter spells to use than that.
