This really has my interest when we are ready to upgrade to a fifth wheel. I’m hoping there is a Blue Ox rep at the Columbus RV and Boat show this weekend.
This is the only review video I’ve found on this hitch, look like exactly what we are looking for. B&W turnover ball kit is being delivered today, next up will be the BRX2100 👍. I like that you don’t have to attach a special component to the king pin like the Anderson and the Curt Wing.
Thank you for your video. You are correct that there are not that many out there on this new product. That being said, can you do some turning tests with your pickup and let us know what kind of angles you are capable of without hitting your cab? Also truthfully, how does it pull compared to your old hitch which I assume was old school full-size fifth wheel hitch? Do you have a short box or an 8 foot on your truck?
Thanks for your comment. It pulls great. The truck and the trailer feels like one unit. I have a 8 foot bed so turning angles are not an issue. The hitch has a smaller footprint. That’s a big plus.
What are the odds that both of us are doing HITCH reviews about the same time. I was looking at that hitch some time ago after having my BXR7200 have issues with bolts loosening up. I'll be curious to see what your thoughts are after a few thousand miles of travel. Thanks for the review!
I noticed those welds also. Yikes! Blue ox could definitely do better and hopefully this unit is just a fluke. I definitely expect better for that price range.
Do you know what a "false hookup" (@7:16) is? If the pin misses the hole while hitching, it will it up on top and be completely obvious, so false hitching (looking coupled, but not properly engaged) is not a risk at all. The funnel-shaped opening is just to make hitching practical; because this socket is accepting a cylindrical pin (not a ball as it should be) lining it up would be impossible without the funnel.
Seems very strange they didn’t make it 6” wider and attach it directly to the mounting pucks. All that weight on the sheet metal is going to bend it like my early model B&W Companion adaptor did to my truck. I’d pass on this setup.
I thought the same thing when I got the hitch, but I think they were trying to make it fit any truck because the pucks may be in different places. I will check my bed to see if there is any damage and report back. I also got a bed mat with this hitch. Thanks for commenting.
Anchoring to the "gooseneck" ball in the bed floor is the easy way to get around building support frames to fit all of the 4 OEM and at least 1 aftermarket puck systems, each of which has a different puck spacing pattern.
I'm not sure. Here is a link to the installation of the hitch. It explains the distances and tolerances. www.blueox.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/BXR2100.pdf Thanks for the question
This is the third video that I have seen on this unit. Every example of this hitch has horrendous weld quality! Either this thing is way over engineered so that the welds don’t matter or a fatigue failure is in your future!
I luv y'all's videos, but when are y'all getting back on the road? I'm looking forward to more adventures, but please stay away from "Carolina Pines" so many vloggers have been there it seems like I've been there before. Now that's one video I will not watch. Luv Y'all.
I like that it still uses the regular pinbox.
Thanks so much for this level of detail about the hitch. You're very good at explaining 🙂
Glad it was helpful!
Great review! We purchased this hitch Nov ‘22 and we love it. Easy to use and has a small footprint.
Awesome review, I like how light it looks because I can’t move mine by myself at all!
Thanks for watching!
I don't have a need for a fifth wheel hitch, but this was a great video. Great review. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
I like that hitch! Light weight and durable.

If there isn’t a rep there let me know. If you’re really interested maybe my rep can contact you.

Cool, I really like it. Safe travels.
I enjoy your videos. Keep filming.
Thank you Lily Rose…we appreciate you supporting our channel.
Great review. Similar to our Anderson Ultimate Fifthwheel hitch. Gotta love no chucking!
You got that right!
Yes, like the Andersen Ultimate... but with higher weight, more complexity, and more restriction on articulation.
Great video Sir. Will be soon shopping for one. Thanks
You are welcome. Good luck with your purchase.
Awesome review, it's too bad that I didn't see this before because I just bought a B&W Companion hitch.
I am sure the B & W will work for you but if not you can always try the Blue Oz. ~Duane

Cool hitch
Thank you!!
Great review !
Thanks!

Thank you for watching. I’ll check out your video.
My only concern is the fit/finish (welding) not impressed. Great review thanks.
Thanks for watching!

How’s the hitch treating yall ?
It did well. We now have a larger hitch because we have a larger camper. They don't have a hitch over 21000 yet. I understand there is one coming.
💛💛💛
How was the chucking?
Not bad at all.
👍🏿
Can you make 90 degree turns
Yes. We have a 8 ft truck bed. That gives us plenty of room. Thanks for the question.
@@AllAboutTheBanks let me rephrase the question can you make a 90 degree turn in a6.5 short bed

This is a super cool set up, and your video was great! Do you think this hitch would hold up on gravel/forest service roads?
Can’t really answer about service roads but it’s great on the highway.
@@AllAboutTheBanks I might have to roll the dice and find out lol.

Stay tuned…we will have travel videos up real soon. Thanks for your comment.
Big nope for me! Don’t trust that type of way to grab the goose ball. 👎 Also don’t like the fact it only has one pin to lock the pin !!
I understand. This is the second hitch I’ve had that attaches to a goose ball. Thanks for watching.
Me too ! I would get the SBR mount style as I have them already.
Not the best weldings!
I dont like it , thats just me
Honest comment…we love it!!!
